Egg Coffee
Jenny H.

I got the egg coffee less sweet but it was still pretty sweet. The egg cream was standard. There was this chocolate powder on top of the egg cream so once you mix everything together it kind of tasted like a chocolate or mocha flavor. I wish the coffee was stronger in taste. I saw lots of folks with the matcha so I def want to try that if I am back. You can order on the kiosk so it was pretty easy. There was no staff taking orders so it is all through the kiosks. Plenty of space to do work or study. Parking was rough lol

While looking for unique coffee options I stumbled upon Binge Coffee. My eyes immediately gravitated towards the Black Sesame Coffee. Everything is done through an ordering tablet, so it can be quick. 1st protocol is to stir it so you get a taste of the coffee & Black Sesame. I love it when a coffee isn't watered down bc there's an added component to it, in this case(Black Sesame). I really want that deep, rich coffee aroma to give me that caffeine I need to keep me alert. I would definitely return for other options.

banana matcha and ube matcha

Loved this place, will definitely be coming back! It was crowded but we were able to get a table without much trouble. Good vibes and great lighting inside. I got the ube matcha and my friend got the banana one. The ube was delicious - I might get the same order again next time too!

Pandan Matcha

Recently took over the old U-Cha location and with a lovely menu with variety! I recommend the Pandan Matcha if you like Pandan. It was well balanced with the matcha and well worth the specialty cost with the portions. Not much seating but if you find one you can definitely settle down and be productive! It may get busy/loud as it is a small space but with some headphones and a flow state you're sure to get work done! 4/5 - Pandan Matcha - You can definitely taste the Pandan and matcha but I thought it could be a bit creamier for my liking. The sweetness was on point with the normal sugar and the ice was perfect in proportion. Nevertheless it was still a fantastic drink that I would get again when I visit again!

LOVE their matcha!! They have such an extensive menu and amazing, strong drinks-what a feat. Got the less sweet Kyoto Fog-London fog matcha with matcha foam. SO matcha forward, but can also taste the earl grey. Amazing!! Coco Matcha also really good. Mango Matcha was alright. All very matcha forward with prominent flavors. Small space with lots of studying students. Bathroom was clean-ish. Love it here and will be back (been here a few times before and everything was good then too, banh mis and drinks)

pandan waffle, not super sweet but fluffy

Drinks - I ordered the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha and BOY oh boy was the matcha SUPER strong! It was a little bitter for my liking. I wish they had an option to adjust sweetness, ice etc but their drink came pretty standard/set so not much tweaking. Service - ordered on a kiosk and it was super easy and fast. Drinks came pretty fast too. Ambiance - cute little shop. Small tables with lots of chairs that you can add to tables, etc

Binge Coffee House is right next to the UC campus on Bancroft Way so it is very popular with students. First thing we noticed we walked in was a wall adorned with black and white grainy photos of all the patrons. There is a small photo kiosk where you and/or your friends can take the Polaroid selfies and add to the wall. We thought that was cute and the photo wall made this place interesting. Their drinks menu is very interesting as well. They advertise the use of premium hand-whisked Matcha in their drinks and they have interesting combinations of specialty drinks. We ordered a Pandan Matcha and a Passion Fruit tea using a tablet pad but you can order from the staff as well. We were able to specify the sweetness level, and add other toppings like crystal boba. Our drinks were ready fairly quickly. I liked that the Matcha flavor was strong and I was satisfied with my drink. The Passion Fruit tea was also very refreshing. We thought the prices were reasonable for the quality and size of drinks. The ambience was also nice enough to made us want to stay for our drinks.

Melon Matcha

Best Melon Matcha! A must try!! Sweet, creamy, and a nice melon flavor. It reminded me of the green Melona popsicle for its vibrant color and the melon flavor wasn't super artificial in a way that made it awful. It was really good and refreshing. Highly recommend!

solid spot! we came for the matcha drinks but the other drinks on the menu such as the viet coffee/egg coffee/ube flavored looked pretty promising as well! id put this place in my top 5s for the bay, good matcha tasting drinks and fun flavor options. decent seating options and reasonable waittime. friend and i went for the kyoto fog and the double matcha. good cream tops, vibrant color, reasonably good sweetness level for their choice of sweetner and good drink presentation as well. they also have some banh mi bites that look interesting. also expect the matcha "green tongue" haha

Best matcha in the east bay! Constantly changing and adding to their menu and amazing workers!

Usually caffeine is the last thing I want before bed, but matcha is hard to pass up when you only have a few hours left to explore a city. We visited Binge Coffee House on a whim after dinner while looking for something to end our evening. There are countless cafes in the area, but we kept hearing that this one was worth trying. The shop sits close to UC Berkeley, so it's not surprising that a lot of college students hang out here. Even an hour before closing the place was still packed with students studying. It's also conveniently located near a bus stop which makes it easy to reach by public transit. You can order online, at the register, or through two kiosks inside the cafe. We placed our order online for the melon matcha and the white peach matcha. By the time we arrived our drinks were already ready for pickup, which took maybe five minutes. That's pretty quick for matcha drinks. The quality definitely lived up to the reviews I had read online. The matcha itself was strong and aromatic while still letting the added flavors come through. They also offer flavor combinations I haven't seen before. The melon matcha is inspired by a Melona ice cream bar mixed with a matcha latte, and it honestly tasted exactly like that. It was creamy, not overly sweet, and really satisfying. The white peach matcha was interesting. It took a few sips to warm up to because the flavor reminded me of peach yogurt, which I don't normally associate with matcha. It wasn't bad at all, just a more unique pairing. Hopefully I'll get the chance to come back and try more drinks and maybe some of the snack items as well.

Binge Drinks were very flavorful and easy to customize through the kiosk!! And they came out so fast!! We tried 3 different flavors and they were all so unique and good. We will come again!!

Packaged well for on-the-go!

A regular here after recent discovery, must get my matcha fix! Usuals are pistachio and regular matcha latte but today I am trying the double! Always a high quality product (matcha at Starbucks just doesn't hit anymore after Binge ) and employees provide great service to accommodate my lower sweetness levels and no pistachio nut crumbles. I like this location because of the online ordering capability on their website, yay to no extra fees and are open earlier vs. the other location on Telegraph. However, it would be nice if the 25% sweetness was an ordering option online. Finally, don't forget to try the beef banh mi, it's delicious imo out of the others!

The family enjoyed their matcha drinks and said they were good quality. Line was long but not ridiculous.

Spicy Shaken Beef Pho -- flavorful beef broth, perfect amount of saltiness, lots of fresh beef slices. Super filling and warm! The food was delicious and fresh! With my luck, my car would smell like hello kitty for weeks. Anyhow, I found Mẹ Và Con on yelp, a mother-daughter owned resto that opened in 2024. They serve bánh khọt and have outdoor seating so we headed over. Thankfully, we arrived before the Sunday dinner rush (~5:45 pm) and before the parking lot was filled. Rezzies are accepted (via phone). M E N U Viet Cuisine with some elevated, modern twists (no specific regional specialty). Smaller menu than your typical hole-in-the-wall with 25-30 items including AZN fusion items like shrimp ceviche, kimchi pasta and tom yum pasta. Beer, wine, and soju cocktails available. F O O D * Bò Tái Chanh: Beef Carpaccio w/ Thai basil, fried shallot, house tangerine sauce ($18): https://tinyurl.com/nhcn9kxw - Served at dinner only Fresh, tender slices of beef carpaccio with a sweetness from the tangerine sauce and white onions. I appreciate their twist (tangerine sauce instead of nước chấm) but it was too one note for me...IMO, it needed acid and herbs. Plus, I miss the texture of peanuts. * Bánh Khọt: Viet Mini Pancakes w/ shrimp, coconut milk batter, herbs, pickles ($24): https://tinyurl.com/34nx7sat - Served at dinner only Fav dish of the night, the savory bánh khọt was delicately crispy and slightly custardy in the center with a snappy shrimp drizzled with fragrant scallion oil. It came with romaine, mint, and perilla leaves neatly layered for easy wrapping. The lettuce was a bit soft and soggy tho, and I think they forgot the pickled veggies. Served with a tiny portion of tangy sweet nước chấm. * Bò Lúc Lắc: Shaking Beef w/ soy, garlic, onion, cherry tomato, arugula ($26): https://tinyurl.com/3rkpukct Meltingly tender cubes of filet mignon but light on the seasoning and aromatics so it was bland. Also, was hoping for more smoky wok hei flavor. * Thịt Kho Tàu: Braised Pork Belly w/ hard boiled eggs, rice ($21): https://tinyurl.com/mr2evryw - Includes bowl of rice A traditional dish served during Lunar New Year, it symbolizes prosperity, warmth, and stability. Chunks of pork belly are caramelized in sugar and braised in coconut soda and fish sauce - rich, savory with a good ratio of lean meat to fat (4 pieces). Wish they used more braising liquid when warming up, as some pieces were a bit dry. S E R V I C E Warm, friendly hospitality. Food does take awhile tho...our first dish took about 30 minutes to arrive. A M B I A N C E Casual, no-frills indoor area with about 10-12 tables. Cute covered patio in the parking lot with 5 tables and fairy lights. Overall, Mẹ Và Con is a great place to introduce people that are new to Viet cuisine and/or you're looking for Viet dishes with different twist.

A huge shout-out to Tigon for going the extra mile to provide vegan catering for the funeral…read morereception of my father. I had initially tried to cater from a vegan establishment. However, due to scheduling and resources, I approached Tigon, the nearest vegan friendly restaurant to Sunset Mortuary, to select a fully vegan menu. The food was delivered on time and packaged well. Thank you Tigon for being extra accommodating and making the lunch service effortless for our family.

Hands down, this is the best shaking beef (Bò Lúc Lắc) I've had. The beef is unbelievably tender,…read moreand all those rich, savory juices soak into the bed of lettuce underneath. It adds so much flavor and makes the whole dish feel extra satisfying. One small tip, I'd recommend asking for a bit more lime with the dipping sauce. The pepper-to-lime ratio leans pretty heavy on the pepper side, and I personally like a little more acidity to cut through the richness of the beef. The eggroll appetizer is also worth mentioning. They come out nice and crispy, and wrapping them in the lettuce with the dipping sauce adds a great contrast in texture and a fresh layer of flavor. It's a simple touch, but it really elevates the dish. The pho is solid and pretty standard, no complaints there, but the shaking beef is definitely the star. The atmosphere is very family-friendly. There were kids playing and interacting with each other, which gave the place a warm, community feel. My little one was a bit shy when some kids came over to say hi, but it was still a welcoming moment. The interior is spacious, so I wouldn't worry about bringing a larger group. And for accessibility, there are a couple of steps at the entrance, but there's a lift on the right side, and a flat entrance in the back for wheelchairs or strollers, which is a nice touch.
