After spending two months trying to get this office to verify that my insurance had indeed given a prior authorization, it took four visits for Dr. Mendelson to refuse to treat the root cause of my issue (tonsillar hypertrophy, which has caused me a whole host of health issues), instead insisting that we waste time by treating only one of the symptoms (sleep apnea). When I questioned his methodology and suggested that treating symptoms versus the root cause of a condition was contradicotory to basic medicine, he rudely chastised me for not listening to the "doctor" in the room. Don't waste your time with this unprofessional practice that is more beholden to insurance companies than they are to the health of their patients! read more

2 years ago I would have recommended this office for great service by Dr. M. and their friendly office staff. However, after today. I would not. I needed to be seen my Dr. M most urgently and due to an incorrect billing of $120 from 2 years ago because of incorrect coding, their office is refusing care. I truly hope no one has to deal with their office manger Rochelle. She is not friendly, rude, and talks over the individual. and is not willing to work with you at all. or even acknowledge that something might have been coded wrong and therefore billed incorrectly. read more

Nobody wants to have multiple visits to the Dr. Unfortunately for me, I had a couple conditions happening at the same time which required multiple visits. I had two surgeries done by Dr Mendelson within a month of each other - one in my ear and one for my sinuses. I could not have asked for a more skilled, thorough, kind doctor than Dr Mendelson. A few months later, the tumor is completely gone from my inner ear, and my sinuses are clear and I have discovered how it feels to truly be able to breathe Dr Mendelson's staff are just as wonderful as him. They have taken time to answer all of my questions, fit me in to his schedule when needed, and help me understand my options for treatment. Like I said, nobody wants to spend a lot of time at the dr, but since I had conditions that required me to, I'm glad it was with Dr Mendelson. If ever I need an ENT again, he will definitely be the one I go to. read more

As a new patient, I was so pleased by my first experience. They were able to see me within a day, which I truly appreciated as my ear was blocked, and was in pain. The staff was very nice and friendly. I felt at ease and welcomed by Perla. On each of the three occasions I went to this office to see the doctor I had to wait a minimum of 45 minutes past my appointment time to see him. On the other occasion that I went in for an allergy test the staff forgot about me in the back room. They were not considerate with my time and the fact that I was taking off time from work to be there and had to get back. I came in with a boring case of allergies, and when I told the doctor I did not like using nasal sprays, he just wrote me a prescription for a different nasal spray. When that, and over the counter allergy medicines did not work he gave me the limited options of taking drops at 4$ a day (which I can't afford) or coming in to the office every month for injections (for which I do not have the time, especially at this office.) by the end I was being booked for the same test every month so they could confirm that there was still fluid in my ears, which of course there was as my condition never improved. At least the doctor was not pushy with his treatments. read more

Horrible place...I believe I saw Linda MacConnell. I was also put in a room and waited and waited, someone from the staff opened the door and said I was put in the wrong room. Dr MacConnell laughed at the reason why I was there, didn't give the medication I needed. I now I have ER bills thxs to her and a month and half has gone by based on her bogus findings. $45 to lie on a table and fall backwards to see my reflexes for 2 minutes, what a joke. read more

In Oct. of 2009, I had Dr. Mendelson as my doctor to perform a deviated septum surgery on my nose at Tempe St. Luke's Hospital. Although Dr. Mendelson may not have the most outgoing personality, he is an excellent surgeon. He was referred to me by my primary care physician who knew I was tired of having continued sinus infection problems season over season. Testing revealed that I was not experiencing the type of sinus drainage that was normal, thus the surgery would correct this problem. I can tell you that I do not suffer from any of the sinus congestion and infection problems I routinely experienced, especially during spring allergy season, historically. My breathing was corrected and I can actually sleep horizontal with my mouth closed at night now, which I never could do before due to the blockage. I'm greatful for having had Dr. Mendelson as my surgeon and would highly recommend him. read more

I found the staff to be very friendly and competent. I was seen by Dr Mendelson in a timely manner. He answered all of my questions and sent me for a CT scan. When I returned to get the results, he explained everything to me thoroughly and was very professional. It appears that some people who wrote reviews were upset because the Dr. was dictating into the computer. Honestly, I don't like it much either, but that is the way that medicine is headed these days. It is pretty much the same everywhere I go. Needed some paperwork that I asked for months in advance and they did nothing about it. When I got the paperwork I wanted about my treatment it was totally not what I asked for they wasted my time and I am really un satisfied with them. They even offered to charge me for the report I needed for my legal case and they did not do it right at all like I needed. I understand if I was in a hurry but it's been 3 months! I was referred to ENT Specialists by an Audiologist to assess if I needed hearing aids. Dr Fateh and Dr Mendelsohn both examined me. A hearing test was administered. It was determined that I did need hearing aids. While I was NOT pressured, I did purchase them from ENT Specialists. After being fitted and wearing them for ONE weekend, I returned them. They kept falling out and I did not see any improvement in my hearing, when they were installed. As per the contract, I was refunded my payment, less $200. I was tested again, by another Audiologist and learned that the ENT test was not accurate. I purchased hearing aids from the third Audiologist, as their test and the first test were almost identical. The cost was substantially lower than the ENT set. Once again, I want to state that i was treated well and never pressured to buy from ENT. It was my decision. What disturbs me is that the test administered by ENT was not accurate. Hence, the hearing aids were not effective as well as expensive. read more

My daughter has been sick numerous times over the last 2 years with strep throat. Then these last 6 months had gotten worse. Once off medications it would come right back. Dr. Mendelson recommended a sleep study. Sleep study ??? My daughter doesn't have a problem sleeping. They wouldn't do anymore for her until that was completed. I spoke to the sleep study and they were surprised that was his recommendation. The office personal are very rude. Not professional at all. Not impressed with this office at all. Found new doctor and my daughter will be getting her tonsils out by end of next month. read more

I am very disappointed in this business. I use the term business because in my experience, I was treated as a stream of revenue rather than a patient. In my opinion, the office staff is inexperienced, unorganized and unprofessional. Unfortunately, I have been going to this office for more than two years. Here are some of the issues I have experienced. - Long wait times. Expect to wait over 45 minutes before being called back into a room. Once in a room, the wait continues. I would block off 2 hours in my schedule for 2 minutes with the doctor. - Early morning appointments. Doctors and Audiologists showed up late to work more than once leaving me to wait in the room until they arrived. - Billing issues. Almost every office visit required a co-pay adjustment with their billing department. - The primary physician never remembered me. I have seen him over a dozen times and I would have to repeat my history every visit. - On my first visit, I learned about my disease when he talked into the computer instead of speaking directly to me. - I elected to have an optional procedure performed in office based on the initial cost communicated by the office staff. To my surprise, I received a bill for over three times the agreed upon amount. When I brought it to the office manager's attention, I was advised they made a mistake, but I was still responsible for the amount. I asked that they adjust the bill to the agreed upon amount in good faith and was told that I have no idea how much it costs to run a practice. I will never step foot into this business again. read more

Dr. Mendelson was so knowledgeable and extremely efficient-I was in and out of my appointment in no time and still felt like all of my questions had been answered. I came to see Dr. Mendelson after seeing another ENT that told me nothing was wrong and 3 months later still had the sinus pressure and ear pain. He sent me for allergy test, hearing test, and CT scan which I found to be very thorough exam needed to find exactly what was wrong. It was a long visit yet worth the time to get all the information needed for a correct diagnosis. I did have quit a wait to see him and it is not a long visit with him however a good specialist and surgeon is always busy. He is short and to the point which I liked, however he did answer all my questions about my surgery. I ended up needing nasal and sinus surgery and even though he had a full schedule he managed to fit me in due to my school schedule and time I would need to heal before it started again. I have found the staff in both the Tempe office and Mesa office to be extremely pleasant and helpful every time I have been there. As for my surgery I was amazed and extremely thankful that I was sent to him. Dr. Mendelson did an amazing job and I had no bruising and minimal swelling. I have had a deviated septum fixed before and I have to say this process with Dr. Mendelson and his staff has been great. I am truly thankful for the time he took with me and fixing what was broken and if it meant waiting a little longer to be seen I feel it was worth it. Rescued me thru ability to charge office visit and biopsy procedure through my insurance. Oral surgeon just East of 1840-44 good business offices charged me $80 for just offfice consult and then $3,240 written quote for biopsy as out-of-pocket. If it hadn't been for Dr. David Mendelson, MD, a fist would have landed on my jaw! Just for the record, my insurance covered a maximum charge=$259. I was floored! Dr. Mendelson is fastidious with documentation; no problem there now, so it's all attention to the good care of the patient. Very glad to have gotten a 2nd opinion. read more

called in and set up an appointment to have my nose cauderized. when i got there he told me he wouldnt do it on the first visit and instead gave me a "nosebleed prevention" guide wich was a sheet of paper with tips such as dont pick or overblow your nose..this cost me $205. i tried to dispute this charge and the response i got was that he felt his time was worth this, all 20 minutes of it! read more

I saw Dr. Mendelson after being diagnosed with sinusitis about a million times. I was tired of the same old antibiotics routine, and I thought going to an ENT would be the ticket to figuring out what was really wrong. The first appointment was horrible Dr. Mendelson spent 2 minutes with me. Then he ordered at CT scan...which cost me more with my insurance than if I would've paid cash (??). About a week later, I get a call from his office telling me I need to return for a follow up visit to discuss the results of my CT scan. I asked the MA if she could read me the report results, as it would cost me $50 to have another follow up appointment. She declined to read me the results and urged me to follow up with the "doctor"to "move forward with my treatment". So here I am, expecting there to be some findings on the CT that Dr. Mendelson needs to intervene on. Wrong! I waited 45 minutes in the waiting room and paid $50 for him to talk to me for 3 minutes about my normal CT and to come back if I needed anything else. I couldn't even get a word in edgewise before he was out the door. What the hell? No other office I know does business like this read more
