I utilized Biltmore Mechanical to replace my unit on my condo. I based my decision on the paucity of negative reviews on yelp (people that are dissatisfied are much more likely to leave reviews than people that receive the level of service they expected). That and the fact that the other company that I had bid on the work only offered a 1 year warranty whereas Biltmore Mechanical offered a 10 year parts warranty (and I considered a 1 yr warranty unacceptable as a quality unit properly installed and maintained should last significantly more than 10 years in my opinion). The job went perfectly, and I am confident that Biltmore Mechanical will assist me if I should have any difficulty with my AC in the next 15 years. read more

I have dealt with about 4 different HVAC companies in the past 2 years, all of which were disappointing. My heater suddenly broke and was tasked with finding another company. I contacted David early on a Saturday morning and had a response within 15 minutes and then he was over about 2 hours later. He took videos to show me what was wrong of my unit in the ceiling which was great as I knew I could trust what he was working on. He went out of his way to go pick up a necessary part from the manufacturer and still come back and fix my heater the same day. He kept the house clean while he worked and then at the end of his work he walked me through a detailed report of his findings and set aside the broken parts to show me exactly what was wrong. We met him when he worked for another heating/cooling operation in town and we were so impressed by his honestly and work ethic that when he told us he was starting his own small business, we followed immediately and referred all of our friends. David has helped us when our air conditioning failed multiple times (often rearranging his entire schedule to come faster), when we realize that none of the ducts were sealed securely in our older house that had been remodeled, and just recently he put in an air scrubber for our home to help our sons immunosuppression issues. Totally lucked out! At 1:15AM discovered that AC drain had backed up and water was leaking from new AC unit onto new hardwood floor. Called two 24 hour emergency services and got the scheduling run around, could give even an approximate ETA. Third call was to Biltmore and owner ( David ) answered the phone and was at my house within 20 min. He took care of immediate leaking issue but in process we discovered that prior AC install company had set the drain spout at ground surface level and as such water couldn't exit the drip pipe and as such backed up into house. As it was now after 2AM we decided to address the underlying issue the following morning, which David did. Not only is he a nice guy and very professional, he was shockingly reasonable, so much so that I added extra to his bill, which he was hesitant to accept. That's a first class guy and first class service. I'll have him do my future service check ups going forward. read more

I found This company online after another HVAC company was unable to figure out why my AC unit was leaking from the return vent. David was able to figure it out and corrected the problem. After doing that I had him service the unit. He informed me at that time there were many issues with it. So I had him replace with a brand new one. Upon the first installation attempt, he was able to see a plumber was needed to cap a water line. He was able to refer a plumber who capped water lines and wound up replacing my hot heater that was in VERY bad shape. All this was especially helpful as I am an absentee landlord. I called Biltmore Mechanical when my usual local AC company (Alan's Air) was swamped with breakdowns. I only needed a tune-up before the summer months so they couldnt get to me right away, understandable. I called several other highly rated companies I found on Yelp and all of them said the same thing. When I called David he said he could be there that same day, after hours. I told him later in the week would be fine and he was here as expected. He confirmed the appointment, service, and cost the same day we made the appointment. The day of he texted and called me to let me know we were on schedule. The service itself took less than an hour and he described in detail what he did, and answered all my questions. Had a recent A/C failure on a rental property. Unlike other services, the call was actually answered on a Friday late afternoon - and not only answered, but David was able to come check out the A/C that same afternoon. By the time I made it to the property after the phone call (~30min), he was already on the roof and had the issue figured out: a low voltage circuit failure, which turned out to be caused by a failed relay. David replaced the relay and the A/C was back in business much to the delight of my tenants. Yes, a bad relay is a simpler fix than swapping a compressor, but still... everything was done in barely over an hour in the 110F June heat on a roasting hot roof covered in black shingle. David was also kind to indicate a few other potential issues with the unit, so I can know what to expect, but did not use that as an opportunity to sell what wasn't required at the moment. Very honest, professional, and trustworthy. I will definitely be using Biltmore Mech for future A/C work, and would highly recommend to others. read more

Biltmore Mechanical has been to my house twice now. Once for an AC leak and again when my AC stopped cooling my house. Both times I was extremely pleased. Not only are they quick to respond and schedule an appointment, they are also extremely reasonable. When my AC stopped cooling my house, they sent someone out on a Sunday morning-no outlandish last minute emergency fee-and when the issue couldn't be fixed right away because of frozen coils, they came back a few hours later after my unit defrosted to get the AC working again. It was 115 degrees and my A/C was going on and off intermittently. A/C service companies were all booked for many days ahead. I called Biltmore and left a message. Minutes later David called back. He, too, was booked for days but he took my info to try to fit me into his schedule. He called back later that day and offered to come at the end of his day which was late in the evening. That was so considerate. I explained I could wait until morning. Although he was totally booked, he arranged to come out before his first appointment in the morning. He arrived on time and was proficient, knowledgeable and very pleasant. He checked out the whole system; found the problem and repaired it. My A/C is now running cold and purring like a kitten! So I wake up on a Sunday morning and it's 91 in my house... I first called a large chain AC place and briefly spoke with a receptionist/scheduler. Was given a 5 hour time frame and just didn't feel she (the company) really cared. I then decided to try someone else and I could not be more pleased with who I called! David (the owner of Biltmore Mechanical H&C) picked up, very pleasant (again calling on a Sunday morning...) right from the get go. He was already on a call and gave me a 2 hour window (1-3); I said I'll take it, but earlier the better. Come 11am he stated he was able to finish the other job quicker than expected and could be over sooner. 11:30; David is here and in less than 1 hour, my AC was running again! Bad wiring led to compressor not kicking on/cooling. He checked all aspects of outdoor unit (Freon levels, ensure equipment was working properly, etc.). He probably could have upsold me on something I didn't need to make an extra buck, but he didn't and I am very thankful for that (as I'm no millionaire...). He explained everything in a friendly / professional manner and I am so thankful that once again, myself and my dog are cool!
