A screenshot of his overpriced quote from my vague project.
    Samuel S.

Very dissatisfied with the astronomical quote I received from this business for a shower remodel. This is after knowing the exact costs of material needed for the remodel including tile and granite for bench (which is a little over 2,000). I was roughly quoted at $18,150, this is minus the cost of tile... They responded that this is due to high quality work, I was essentially quoted at $16,000 dollars worth of labor. I don't want to discount the value of skilled labor but I feel like this is a taking advantage of consumers and a labor shortage. Update* A minute after I left this review I was called and harassed by Billy for my honest review. Then spouted off a bunch of things I included in my list that he said I didn't account for such as dumping old shower insert (300) for dump pickup through local business. I already included that in my material price. Update** Billy states that it is an unfair review, that I gave him a vague description, I sent him a picture of the project so he decided to over quote me? How is that fair? So is the actual cost more than $18,150? - Billy is unprofessional and overpriced, he decided to call and hound me don't waste your time because he's probably ripping your off.

From the very first visit, Paul set himself apart from other contractors I had met with -- he arrived fully prepared with a variety of material and color samples, thoroughly explained the refacing process, covered warranty details, took measurements, and even designed the layout, all in a single appointment. There was never any pressure to sign, which I genuinely appreciated. When questions came up after his visit, Paul responded quickly with a phone call followed by a detailed email complete with photos and examples. That level of follow-through is hard to find. Once I signed the contract, Jaime came by to confirm measurements and listen to my ideas, translating them into a well-defined project plan. The results speak for themselves -- everything was completed ahead of schedule. The cabinet refacing surpassed my expectations, and the material we selected not only looks stunning but feels great and is effortless to clean. The new coffee bar in the living room has become an absolute showstopper, and the added cabinets in the laundry area are both practical and well-crafted. Miguel, who handled the final installation, was a true professional -- communicative, courteous, and a pleasure to have in our home. The team wrapped up with a thorough walk-through and left everything immaculate. I've already recommended JV Cabinets to friends and family, and I would do so again without hesitation.

After completing the project and later comparing with other options, it became clear that the pricing was not aligned with the level of quality we received. The paint has started rubbing off within a year, the drawer hardware feels very low quality (mostly plastic), and the drawers did not close properly from the installation. The drawer slides and soft-close mechanisms are low quality, feel cheap and unreliable, and the slide system doesn't function properly. With our prior Ikea drawers, which had metal throughout, that was never an issue. These are fundamental issues that should not occur at this price point. Support was also a challenge. Communication felt defensive, and we had to follow up multiple times just to get someone to come out for fixes. Based on our experience, we would not recommend JV Cabinets. There are other providers offering solid wood cabinets with noticeably better build quality and finish for similar, or lower cost.

I love my kitchen and I've also approached him about a future project. I had a basic 1970's era condo kitchen-outdated but can't really change the footprint. I tried to revive it with refacing. It still didn't function well, but I worked around it. A leak in the wall behind the cabinets, forced an unexpected remodel. I received estimates from several contractors using stock or RTA "IKEA" kitchen cabinets. The cabinets I saw in these stores did not seem as sturdy as my existing cabinets. I couldn't customize and would have similar unusable spaces where the pre-made cabinets are put together. The contractors and pre-made cabinet stores told me custom cabinets would cost twice as much as their estimates. While looking for design ideas, I saw multiple Houzz and Reddit posts stating a local carpenter could give me custom cabinets at a much better price. I am so glad I paid attention to the posts! That's how I found Sacramento Millworks. His price for my project was comparable to the quotes I received for stock cabinets. Raymond is a carpenter and a designer. Because of his experience, he handled everything. He walked me through everything, including a trip to the granite and tile shops. I just picked colors. He was very patient. Most of contractors I've worked with recently send employees to do the work. They just pop in here and there until it's time for payment. Raymond was on site working with one helper everyday. I really appreciated that!

This place does not do custom cabinets. So before you order anything, ask if they do custom work…read more They do not cut your cabinets to length, width, or depth. See BBB complaint below. If you decide to move forward with a transaction have them put it in writing. Pay close attention to the Return Policy and make sure to ask about the refunds, and there refund upon approval system. See contract below. We have been waiting 7 weeks to get the correct cabinets that fit. 3 weeks for the initial order and replacing the same cabinet 3 times. That's No kids birthday party no thanksgiving, no Christmas, nothing in the kitchen can be installed until the cabinets are in. This is the 3rd time around. They will not honor there refund policy, so buyer beware. Even though it says you have X=amount of time to return, with a stocking fee they will tell you "that it's upon approval". That's after the fact, i.e. when you install them and they do not fit. Small place doesn't want to do refunds so they will give you everything under the sun for a reason why they can't accept returns. They will only take it back if it's damaged, so if it doesn't fit or doesn't meet your standard, your stuck with it. See photos below. They gave us kitchen cabinets instead of real vanities. See pictures below. Why would you give us drawers that don't open that are clearly met for a kitchen. I'm sure this is a set someone else purchased and they pushed on us. In fact they never showed us the vanities. When we asked could we see them we where told we couldn't because they where in the back in boxes. So not only did he not get to choose the vanity we weren't allowed to see the ones the supposedly ordered. And since there was no damage we can not return them Refer to the Better Business Bureau of Northern California and the Department of Consumer Affairs before deciding on any company
