Finally was able to hire Billy for some rehab work and I couldn't be happier with the results. As a former contractor, I'm always amazed with how poorly the vast majority of contractors communicate. Go ahead, call five contractors. How many answer their phone? How many even respond? You probably already know how many. 1? 2, maybe? This project was a little annoying because I needed it done immediately. Also, it involved working in conjunction with a separate contractor that was working in the home. I was worried that it'd be hard to find a contractor to complete in time. I felt bad having such an immediate need but I wanted to call Billy first. Billy answered, with tools in his hands, mid job. I explained what I needed. He asked the right questions. We setup a time to meet and like clockwork, he showed up on time. Always friendly. Always informative. Bam! Work scheduled. I left Billy the lockbox code and he estimated his finishing time. I called him around that time to coordinate getting him paid. And, of course, the work was already completed. Not only was the work completed sooner than expected which allowed the entire project to progress faster than expected, but it was done perfectly. Which is a word I rarely use. But from the precision of the work, the cleanliness of the work, coordination with other contractors, quality of products he used...and yes, the value of everything involved...perfect! I'm not sure if I'll ever need contracting services in the Yuba/Sutter area again. But if I do, I'm only making one call. The same call you should make. After my fence and garage got in the way of a drunk driver driving on a suspended license for a previous dui, I was seriously in need of repair. As I was researching contractors Billywood certainly stood out. The name pulled me in but the excellent service made me stay. Billy and his team worked rapidly and thoroughly to replace my fence and the structural integrity of my garage, in extreme heat I might add. I received constant communication and updates, a new fence and restored garage wall in better condition than before the accident! Billy runs his business just like a pro should!!! He contacted me immediately after I requested a quote. We talked about the scope of the work and how long it would take and the price, all topics were on point. One thing that stood out for me was that Billy was all in on my project. I initially wanted my new backsplash in my kitchen to go right on top of my existing 4" high by 3/4" thick granite backsplash but Billy suggested that I remove the existing backsplash and install the new one from the bottom of the countertop up. Well I'm glad I listened to him!! I would have regretted not doing so! He didn't have to suggest that but he did and after looking at pictures online I was convinced. Billy and his crew started the job and finished it on the day as promised. Billy noticed I had some items in the garage from my kitchen remodel and he offered to get rid of some of my items because he was already going to the dump which was a big help to declutter my garage while I wait for a dump pickup. Very dissatisfied with the astronomical quote I received from this business for a shower remodel. This is after knowing the exact costs of material needed for the remodel including tile and granite for bench (which is a little over 2,000). I was roughly quoted at $18,150, this is minus the cost of tile... They responded that this is due to high quality work, I was essentially quoted at $16,000 dollars worth of labor. I don't want to discount the value of skilled labor but I feel like this is a taking advantage of consumers and a labor shortage. Update* A minute after I left this review I was called and harassed by Billy for my honest review. Then spouted off a bunch of things I included in my list that he said I didn't account for such as dumping old shower insert (300) for dump pickup through local business. I already included that in my material price. Update** Billy states that it is an unfair review, that I gave him a vague description, I sent him a picture of the project so he decided to over quote me? How is that fair? So is the actual cost more than $18,150? - Billy is unprofessional and overpriced, he decided to call and hound me don't waste your time because he's probably ripping your off. read more

Our project was a complete remodel of a 74 year old house. We brought down walls, moved a bathroom, and completely changed the layout of the kitchen. One of the most stressful parts of the process was choosing a contractor. After having several look at the house and present bids, we went with Billywood Construction as Billy was the most honest and thorough in his explainations. It was obvious after talking with Billy that other contractors either were hiding or didn't know about issues with the old house that had to be addressed that kept their bids lower. Billywood started when they said they would, and the entire project lasted about as long as was estimated. As with most older homes there were issues discovered once the walls were exposed, as well as requirements by the state (fire sprinklers) that came up that we weren't expecting. Billy always had solutions to these issues and handled every one of them. We are very happy with the results of all of the work that was done which you can see from several of the photos Billy posted here. Billy also follows up to check in on his work to see how things are doing. It's been almost a year since we moved back in and we couldnt be happier with our home. We had someone run their car into our garage damaging both garage doors and the wall in between. Billywood came out and gave us a quote that was very reasonable. When they showed up to do the work, they were prompt and polite. They repaired both doors and completely redid the wall. They perfectly matched my 1960's siding, it looks better now than it did before! The repaired area is stronger and more protected from water damage than it used to be. We declined the trim and did it our selves for just parts They did give us a ceiling Fan installed which was cool. Docking a star for affordability. I hired Bill and his team to build a post and beam barn. The price quoted was fair and he provided a breakdown of costs and anticipated timelines. They arrived on time everyday and were respectful and kind to our young kids and dogs. It was 90+ degrees most of the days and they took few breaks and a short lunch. Materials and tools were all anticipated accurately and we had no hang ups! I use to work in construction and my wife and I would go out in the evening and check their work. Surprisingly everything was perfect! One of my favorite things about Bill's team was that they were clean. They didn't leave garbage and food wrappers blowing around like the other crew did when we installed our pool. On the first day of construction, he showed up on time, which surprised me, in a good way. With any construction project, you need to pay attention to what is going on and constantly communicate with your contractor. I don't usually write reviews, but man, Billy and his crew are a cut above any other team I have dealt with. We wanted to convert our second floor balcony into an office room, and it was a non-trivial project due to structural/roof intersections. We got a few quotes and Billy was not the cheapest but was still very reasonable. The difference was the level of professionalism and trust we got right off the bat during the quote. It was an easy decision to skip past the cheaper quotes and go with Billy, and we were right. This level of honesty, attention to detail, incredible professionalism, full management of the project is hard to find. Billy completed the project almost exactly per original predicted timeline even with all the extras we added. Colin and Jose worked tirelessly and never cut corners - they would point out small details that they weren't happy with (even ones that i would not notice) and would go over it again till they were satisfied with their own quality. Small details like the "feel" when the door closes, or seeing how the draft affects the door closing. We have had several large projects done on our house and this is the first time where i feel completely happy with the results. I also concur with other reviews here that you don't have to worry about "last payment syndrome" with Billy. He meticulously sees every final detail through and doesn't vanish after final payment like my previous contractors did. In the beginning he was very nice regarding my quote but once I hired him, it was difficult to schedule when he would come, there was very little communication, and once he did arrive, he spent 2 hours then left and came back next day for 2 more hours work. The workmanship was very poor, he left much incomplete, and even my neighbor who does work with remodeling and construction was very surprised by what this company did (and chose not to do). I requested damage to be repaired and it was a battle, and his attitude was very unprofessional when I made this request. They also expected payment before I even saw the completed project.
