Half or Full Rack Rib Dinner
    Vessie S.

I love the ribs here, and the sides are pretty good as well. I always received good service. I try and stop by for lunch whenever I'm in the area.

I have been trying to get to this place for a while but they were never open while I was in the area or never answered the phone for a specific drive over. Today they answered the phone and they said that they have ribs so I drove over. The place is nice and fresh looking with booths and tables but it was empty so I did take out. I followed my rule that if I don't smell smoke that all I get is a 1/2 rack only because no smoke smell more than not has not so good ribs. I ordered the 1/2 rack dinner that comes with a slice of Texas toast and two sides, Mac and cheese with beans for me. My first impression was that it looked and smelled good. The ribs had a nice dark bark that was tasty and seasoned well with good flavor so no sauce is needed, my kind of ribs. The ribs were meaty/tender/moist fall off bone clean with the tips left on. The texture was good but not the chew that I like but not the boiled mush texture, somewhere in between and not heavy with the smoke. The beans were just ok that were very loose with strings of meat in them. The Mac and cheese was good with a thick cheese sauce and still somewhat firm with a light cheese flavor. I have been craving ribs for a while now and did they satisfy my crave for sure. I would definitely get the ribs again.

The Heisman is easily the best BBQ sandwich I have ever had!!! Brisket or pulled pork, either option is excellent because both come with the smoked bologna!!!

Legendary spud with chopped brisket. I have tried their ribs polish sausage, bologna.

The ambiance was nice and the service was outstanding! Food: Appetizer: Calamari - pretty basic here, very similar what you get at other restaurants Salad: Caesar Salad - I felt it was underdressed. The anchovies was the saving grace for this salad. Caprese Salad - could have used more basil. Sides: Lobster Mac n Cheese - outstanding! A little pricey but one of the best things we had this night. Asparagus - When I see it's grilled I expect crispy tops, these felt like they were kissed by the grill. Main: Dry Aged Rib Eye with Bleu cheese topping - This was great! Cooked perfectly, seasoned well, tender. 10oz Filet with wild mushrooms - wifey said it was outstanding, cooked and seasoned well. The mushrooms were good but they were marinated button mushrooms... not the wild mix we would expect. Overall Experience: Our server Addie was amazing. Especially given the waitresses did it all... get drinks, take orders, bus tables... she was able to provide awesome service. The bar selection, for me, horrible. Beer selection was 2 Macro beers and 2 Lakefront beers. Bourbon selection, Woodford and something else I don't remember... nothing for me. My wife enjoyed the wine selection though. Would we go back? Yeah.. I mean, it's an expensive place to go. The service and steaks would bring us back, everything else could use some work in my opinion. So far though, best place to get steaks in the area

The restaurant was clean upon arrival, and seemed to be a normal night for this restaurant even had the piano playing in the background. That's all when things started to snowball, upon being greeted at the hostess desk we were invited to help ourselves to a seat at the bar as they would be with us in a few moments. We had a reservation so this was odd but ok. They came back and just pointed us to a table from the bar. Waited a good while to finally get our drink order taken. Mine came quickly the misses had to wait for a good while for hers which was disappointing as we were already previously seated at the bar where we were pointed to help ourselves to a table. She said something about her water being off flavored and shortly after noticed a chunk of something stuck to the inside of her water cup. We decided to order an appetizer of the bacon jam toast thing as it was obvious at this point the staff was struggling to keep up with all the tables and they needed a moment to regroup before placing a whole meal order. The appetizer was great delicious and left us wanting more. We then ordered our steaks mashed potatoes and tried the lobster mac. All of that tasted great also. We were questioning each other where the lobster was in the mac and overheard the waitstaff talking to what sounded like a regular that they ran out of lobster. (They told them to enjoy a round of drinks on them someone was already running to get more). We finished with desert as it was our anniversary the peanut butter cheesecake. Upon arriving at the table it looked as though it had fingerprints on the side like someone used their fingers to place it on the plate. We ate it and again was very good rich and had a great flavor. You probably would ask yourself if we told them any of these things, they apologized for wait to be seated, apologized for the service several times stating "there's a few large groups in back" on their own. Replaced the water cup and said sorry about that. They knew they were out of lobster and tried to pull one more dish before getting more. Lastly we were done when desert came and just wanted to leave. Definitely not going back here anytime soon!

The bartenders are very attentive and consistent in their weak alcohol pours. Staff- very well trained and personable. The only significant fault is the staff asks at least 5 times during our meal "how is whatever we are eating?" It is annoying and they are consistently interrupting conversation. You can barely take the last bite before they are asking if you are done and can they clear? Definitely makes it difficult to "enjoy" the great food and atmosphere. We eat there almost every week because of the food BUT every time they ask us if we have been there before... we recognize all of them by name but few remember us. Adore the bread and steaks:) Recommendation: Tell the staff to slow down a little ....create the feeling of being welcome instead of checking in so often. It feels chaotic ...

We were seated right away on the second floor at a regular table. There are also some high-tops that were being used for parties of two. Our waitress did a great job getting us waters, menus, and our first drink order. She also let us know what the weekend specials were. We started with the Spinach Artichoke Dip, which was very good. It came with a bunch of pieces of grilled sourdough bread, which complemented the dip nicely. Our drinks were good, though I felt the Golden Hour Paloma was a little underwhelming. For entrées, we ordered the Grilled Salmon, the Orville Salad (with shrimp), the Filet Mignon, and I had the special, "Inferno" -- a grilled tenderloin filet on top of a deep-fried portabella mushroom, served on spinach with a touch of sriracha. While waiting, the server came over to update and apologize for the delay. I only mention this because I really didn't think the wait was unusually long (but I appreciated their attentiveness). After a few more minutes, our food arrived, and it was excellent -- served at good temperatures, with terrific flavors and generous portions. The special (filet on mushroom and spinach) was excellent. The filet was ordered medium rare but came out closer to medium; still, it was very good. The fried mushroom was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sauces were an excellent complement and tied everything together. I would definitely order that again. The noise level was good overall, though there were moments -- when seating new tables or during the ordering process -- when it got VERY loud. I wouldn't have wanted that to last the whole time. Throughout the evening, we were well attended to. Friendly, efficient service with great follow-through (thanks, Rachel). The Orville goes on the "Must Come Back To" list. :)

Plenty of parking in the lot attached to this spot! The interior is small, but very nicely done! It was VERY festive for the holiday season! I understand it was the night before a holiday, but they were definitely understaffed. The three staff members (2 servers and a bartender) were, at times, sprinting through the restaurant to keep everyone happy! They did it with a smile too! Kudos to them, but management should help them out with additional staff on busy days. (We had a reservation for 10 people, they knew it was going to be busy). The food and drinks were alright...the Brandy Old Fashioneds weren't very boozy and the fish fry, while cooked well, didn't have any special flavor. We also waited almost an hour for our appetizers: cheese curds, calamari fries, and zucchini blossoms. I will say that the broasted chicken looked very good, but I didn't have any! Overall, a good bar if you're in the area and wanted some drinks/food but I don't know that it's worth a special trip!
