Pros: I think the food here is only OK, but my husband loves it. While we were here, we noticed a group of about 20+ men gathering to one side of the restaurant. It looks like some kind of men's group? So I know this place is good for large groups. One of the guys was low vision and had a guide dog. This is my first time ever to eat at a Billy Sims. I've been curious since this one opened up close to where I live. I have to say that this isn't my favorite BBQ Restaurant, but it's good. The restaurant is new, decorated simply, and is very clean. It's new and very clean. It's self service. Dan and I both got their special, a pulled pork sandwich with one side and a drink for $8.99. The sandwich was well piled with tender pulled pork. The pork was delicious and actually better than most restaurants. I tend to prefer South Carolina mustard based BBQ sauce with pulled pork, but it's hard to find that out side of South Carolina. If the restaurant has mustard, I add it to the tomato based sauce. They did not have mustard. The 3 sauces on the table were hot, hickory, and original. I preferred original because it's a little sweet. Dan preferred hickory. I almost got their rib dinner which is 2 ribs and a side for $11. The best way to judge the quality of a BBQ restaurant is by their ribs. I will have to go back for ribs. Their soft drinks are Pepsi products. They don't serve beer. read more

The food is okay. Not the best BBQ I've ever had, but good. But if you eat here you'd better eat it in a hurry before it gets cold. They serve it on an aluminum platter with a thin sheet of paper between your food and the aluminum. The food gets cold almost before you can get started. Billy Sims restaurant seems to have the worst features of both fine dining and fast food. You order at the counter (fast food). They ask for a tip when the order is placed not when your finished (I will leave it to the reader to figure out what this is characteristic of). Ambiance is not even up to the standards of most fast food restaurants. Everything seems to be for the convenience and profitability of the store and not for the enjoyment of the patrons. Why couldn't they, at a minimum, put the food on a styrofoam plate to keep it warm longer? I think the answer is obvious, it would cost them a few extra pennies for each meal. I downloaded Yelp for the sole purpose of writing this review. This has been the worst place I have eaten in my 6 months of living here. The meat was chewy and cold, I ordered the pulled pork daily special with potato salad. After some confusion in the kitchen and coming out to ask all 9 people in the restaurant what they ordered, they then asked me again which I restated my order happily. Within 2 minutes of that encounter they bring me my food in which was not correct. Besides that they had no C02 in the fountain machine so everything that came out, was flat. read more

I have no idea who Billy Sims is other than that he must have played at OU. Since I'm not from the area nor did I go to OU, the importance of who Billy Sims is or was has not affect on me. However, growing up in a BBQ obsessed family, whether or not Mr. Sim's offer's quality 'que is of great importance. I enjoy the fact that this location is close by and the meats are quite tasty. Sauce is nothing special. Every time I go though, I feel like that I'm bothering the individual taking my order. Also, I don't know if the meats are smoked in house, because while the meats are sliced and weighed per order, they are just sitting in a warming oven wrapped in plastic. I've gotten both the dinners and sandwiches, with the Heisman sandwich (pulled brisket or pork, bologna and hot link) being my preferred order. Standard BBQ side offerings include baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, corn, green beans. All acceptable but nothing that really stands out. While prices are reasonably for the quality and quantity of food, this last visit I asked for an additional side of one rib, which prices at a little under $3 is tantamount to highway robbery. Which is shame because the the ribs are fall of the bone good, but not $3 a rib good. Although, I'd be interested in the all you can eat ribs on Tuesday evenings. Went to Billy Sims for dinner, husband wanted a heisman sandwich. He was told no can do because we have no balongy then he asked about their all you can eat ribs on Tuesday night. WOW still amazed at the consistency of Billy Sims Barbecue locations... Ate here this past week and was amazed at not only the food but the service as well. Normally get the Heisman but The tall slender guy behind the counter, I believe his name was Chad suggested to try Triple 20... now I have a new favorite.... reminded me of Carolina barbecue. Went ahead and got two ribs as side item, (it's tough to eat there and not get ribs) These ribs don't need sauce. Also got The baked potato salad. Best meat and bbq here in Tulsa that we have found so far. We came from Texas and now my husband loves this place. The meat is delicious and so are the sides. Those big potatoes, you got to eat that. My husband loves those. You'll be so full you probably can't move for a few minutes. I love the sliced chicken and sliced brisket. All the food here will keep me coming back. The service is great and it's easy to order. Parking is plenty. We just call in the order or drive up and order inside. It is kid-friendly and our kids love the meat too. I'm not sure what other good bbq places are in the Tulsa area, but this one is awesome and has definitely won our business. read more

This location catered for us. Our typical lunch was sandwiches. I asked if we could do something different. We decided to have baked potatoes with all the fixings and we added pulled pork. Billy Sims bbq is a chain found throughout Oklahoma. I have eaten at several locations while traveling through Oklahoma. The food is solid, but not the best bbq (does not compare to Joe's in KC). I had a combo plate with sliced brisket, cheddar/jalopeno smoked sausage, and Billy beans. The brisket was a bit dried out. The smoked sausage was good but nothing special. The bbq beans were very good. Service was very friendly and prompt (order at the counter). The decor is nice and highlights Billy Sim's football career. Prices were okay for what you get. read more
