This place was a joke. The waitress we had was loud, rude and obnoxious. We waited 2 hours just to eat for 15 minutes. The food was mediocre cafeteria food, not homemade. We were told the portions are huge, that's a lie. The seating inside was so crowded you were right next to the other tables and could hear everyone's conversation. We had a baby screaming in our face the entire time and couldn't even have a conversation at our own table without having to yell at each other. Terrible experience, terrible food. Small little gem that is worth the wait. If your not in a hurry and looking for unique breakfast then this is the place to go. I had the bacon French cakes to try something different and I was not disappointed. Basically a cooked pancake dipped in French toast batter, add bacon and cook again. Make sure you go here HUNGRY! The food is good, with large portions. Lot's to select from. Been eating here for years, and the business has changed some under new ownership, but we enjoy it. This place is almost always packed. We had a week to get there so when we drove by and it was overflowing, literally, with patrons, we would continue on. We were thrilled to be there a bit later in the morning without an overflowing parking lot! We all had great meals for a very reasonable price. Billy Gail's was a refreshing experience as the restaurant made comfort and quality service a priority over superfluous COVID guidelines that only act as a placebo. We went during the lunch hour and were seated promptly, and our food was delivered promptly. The service was excellent, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Service was good. If you're concerned at all about covid, do not come here. Most staff had masks under nose. We were seated one foot away from other guests, although that wasn't the only table open. Outside of covid this is a decent spot for someone staying at silver dollar city campground. We arrived around 12:30pm, and we waited an hour to be seated. They do have free coffee while you wait. Once we were seated, service was about average. It took a little time to get our orders in, and about 30-40 mins to get our food. The staff was very friendly though and the food was AWESOME. Nice, new bathrooms. read more

It's always tradition stopping here every vacation to Branson! Especially on the way to Silver Dollar City. The food is great, the atmosphere is amazing and the staff greet everyone with a "how ya'll doin' today?" And "can I warm up your coffee?" Awesome little cafe, great food and wonderful friendly service. My sister ordered off the kids menu due to eating problems, was very well taken care of with no problems. I had a party melt that was amazing, onions grilled perfectly, hamburger nice n juicy. My wife had a tenderloin the was very good also. Yes, this place has good breakfast but it's not worth the almost 2 hours you'll spend there. We went on a Monday morning and waited over an hour just for a table. By the time we sat down, ordered, ate, and paid it was 2 hours. Not worth it. I got the stuffed french toast with hash browns and it was nothing to shout from the rooftops about. Average breakfast food. It must be the atmosphere and large pancakes the keep people returning. I just don't get it. read more

CASH ONLY. We're new to Missouri and saw that this place has high ratings. They gotta be FAKE. We spent $40 on breakfast for 2 and trust me when I say Macdonald's would have been far better and tastier. My coffee was burnt, and we waited like 15 minutes for our food. After the long wait our food came out cold. I mean everything was cold even the French toast. How is this possible? I don't understand the price since they use the cheapest ingredients. Looks like they get everything from the dollar store down the road and you can definitely taste the cheapness. Only good thing about this place is their staff. They're pretty friendly, but that's about it. To top of my really bad experience, they don't take cards and I had to drive around looking for an ATM in order for me to pay them. This is my favorite place for breakfast in the Branson area. Free coffee while you wait, friendly family style staff and the food is very delicious and plentyfull. Try the pancakes, they hang over the plate. Try the steak and eggs - the steak is about an inch thick, not paper thin like other places. And to top it off they are cheaper than chains known for breakfasts. They are adding parking, something that is desperately needed. You will be full, happy and had lots of laughs when you leave. We have tried several times to get in here in the past few years and finally had success on the last trip to Branson. We arrived around 11am and had a bit of a wait (about 20 minutes) but it was well worth it. I ordered the diced ham jubilee, hubby had the Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich, and my daughter had the buffalo chicken tenders. Everything was delicious and the service was great. It is definitely my favorite breakfast stop in Branson and we can't wait to go there again. I highly recommend it! read more

We stopped at Billy Gail's on our way to Silver Dollar City the day before Thanksgiving 2018. Because it is very well known and popular we did have to wait for a table but not extremely long. The service was great, the food was awesome and we couldn't have been more pleased with this Cafe. Highly recommend it if you are in the area. Take a big appetite and be willing to wait a little. Good breakfast, local dishes and only place I found grits!!! My only con is the 1 $ sign for cost is a little off the mark. we went here once for breakfast, and it was over $ 30.00 for 2 of us, after we were up sold some local favs. The fried baloney was good and different, but a little salty for us.
