I can't say enough good things about this wonderful pizza cafe! If you have never had pizza made in a wood fired oven, you are missing a treat. Within 3-4 minutes of the pizza being placed in the oven, it is completely finished. The crust is crispy and the toppings at Bricks are always top of the line. My wife and I sat outdoors enjoying the fall weather, having drinks and trying a few different varieties of pizza. We actually purchased three pizza's and the cost of the three pizza's was $37 plus the cost of the drinks. Wonderfully friendly staff and a nice location. read more

Wish I could give 2.5 stars...the staff is nice, salad was decent, sandwich (club) surprisinly good, pizza ok. Now if this wasn't a 'pizza' place it probably deserves 3 maybe even 3.5 stars, but it's supposed to be great wood fired pizza, and it's just ok. Liked the open windows for the warm weather and the interior is nice for a 'fast-food' place...but again the pizza was just ok. we've had lots of wood fired pizza before so we're not comparing it to a Chicago style pizza. read more

I was looking forward to trying this pizza, the restaurant is cozy and clean (at this point) and the brick oven is just cool. The pizza was a huge disappointment. If you like to eat mainly crust, go for it. That's what you'll get here. We ordered three pizzas; a white arugula pizza, a cheese, and a sausage and veggie. Each one of these 12 inch pizzas had about 3 inches of plain crust around the edge. Each pizza also had about 2 tablespoons of cheese. You could eat a slice and get one bite with cheese. Bricks makes a pretty good wood-fired pizza. I go there somewhat regularly. I haven't had everything on the menu but the pizza and bruschetta is really good. I go there somewhat regularly. A regular pizza is like 1.5 servings and costs about $13 with tax. At one time they had a limited time only pizza that had Italian beef and giardinera. That was really tasty! I would order that every time if it was on the regular menu. They have good-sized chocolate chip cookies and they are decent. The dining room is a bit cramped but that's just because they have a lot of tables in there. When the weather is nice they open up the entire front of the store and it's a really great place to eat and people watch. There is also some outdoor seating. Parking is usually not a problem. My only complaints are about the cramped dining room and sometimes the staff seems a bit grumpy. read more

Not what I expected at all. It's a sit down restaurant but you order at the counter and get your own drinks. Young staff with mediocre customer service skills. We each got sandwiches that claim to be toasted, but the bread as the only thing that was toasted not the whole sandwich. Chips are just chips in an individual bag. The soup was good for pre-prepared soup. Granted, we didn't get their specialty brick oven pizza, I will likely not return. Crust was tasty but the toppings were sparse. Ordered the Bricks pizza & the toppings were just in the center of the pizza, nothing from the crust to 2 inches in. The toppings consisted of very little Italian sausage about 8 small pieces of mushroom & 6 slivers of red onion on the whole pizza. My wife ordered the Margarita pizza, this also lacked toppings. There were 8 quarter size pieces of fresh mozzarella & 6 tiny slivers of fresh basil also just in the middle of the pizza, nothing but sauce from the crust to 2 inches in, The sauce tasted like canned tomato sauce. Way over priced for what you get. We will not be back. read more

So I just got their one size fits all pizza, which is supposed to feed 1 to 2 people. Maybe that's a typo and it was supposed to say 1/2 people. Anyway for about $15 you get a pizza appetizer... I don't know if other reviewers are aware of what good wood-fired pizza really is. My guess is not because they seem to like that the crust is soft and floppy in the center making it necessary to eat it 'new york style.' A good wood fired pizza is supposed to have a nice crispy crust, flaky and delicious and soft inside the crust, not soggy and requiring utensils to eat. This restuarant is not a good representation of wood fired pizza. The toppings, while nice, were scarce, the sauce was almost nonexistent. We ordered the spinach and feta pizza on the menu. There was a thin layer of spinach though it was fresh, only a couple pieces of feta and a huge amount of their normal cheese blend which made the whole thing extremely greasy and soggy. Other than the pizza, we did enjoy the atmosphere and the service was nice. The caprese salad was nice, with a really beautiful balsamic reduction sauce. If you eat here stay away from the pizza it's disapointing and not a good representative of good wood fired pizza. If however you like soggy crust and a lot of cheese, enjoy. read more

I won't be returning. We don't eat meat or dairy, but we're enthused to hear that they had a "build your own" pizza option. Typically, the pizza comes with sauce and cheese. Any additional toppings cost extra. However, we opted out of the cheese and just got EVOO in replace of the red sauce. Thought that since we were removing the most expensive part that they may not charge us extra for the 2 vegetable toppings we chose. Wrong! So we paid MORE for a pizza with LESS since we got no cheese. Not necessarily about the extra $2 or whatever. Just disappointing that they don't really have any options for people with dietary restrictions, unless you want to pay more for less food. I've even called trying to get soup before but they always have meat in it. Too bad that I can't eat here too because I live and work just a block away! My reccomendation is to either add menu options that are friendly to those with food allergies, or to not charge extra when someone asks you to "hold" something. read more

Came here for lunch recently and I don't understand the hype of this place. The pizza is just ok, but I got food poisoning from it. I don't know if the spinach wasn't washed, or one of the chefs was upset because they got my order wrong and had to re-do it. Either way, I will not be returning here. read more

I have eaten there twice and while I think 5he service and people are great the food is average. On both occasions we ordered several different pizzas. All were served fast but while they come warm they probably could use another minute in the pizza oven. The pizzas are average as far as taste. Delicious pizza! However, it is a little bit on the pricey side. I have only bought pizza through them via Groupon,which is a great deal, in which you get two pizzas for a essentially half price. Don't know if I would buy at full price as it would be close to $26 for two relatively small pizzas. The quality is excellent though. read more

We got on the wait list and they started seating those who came after us first. I asked about it and two of the employees started arguing with each other about the situation behind the counter. Love the food! Pizza is great and their salads are even good. Our son who is 1 1/2 loves the style of pizza they offer. I also enjoy it in the warmer weather when they open the doors and it is like dining outside, even though you're inside! Great place for lunch, never had a bad meal. Stop in for lunch and got the new pizza of the month "Mexicana". Wow was it great a black bean sauce with fresh cilantro, jalapeños and avocado. It was fresh and very tasty. Finally!!! A place that has great food and great service. I highly recommend the Sunnyside Up Pizza and the Pistachio Gelato for dessert, not to mention the best chocolate chip cookie I've had in a very very long time........ I wish I could buy those everywhere. Anyway, the pizzas are great if you like pizza look no further this is the place, if you eat lunch this is the place, if you like homemade desserts this is place, I think you get the picture. Really like this place for what it is: fast casual pizza. Service is always solid. Customers aren't always the brightest though- snagging tables before ordering, occasionally delaying the people ahead of them from being seated- some people are just self absorbed like that. read more

We've been waiting for this place to open for a long time because we live in Wheaton but are regulars at their Lombard location. The food is just as good at this new location, but unfortunately our experience was marred by the blaring music. They had the radio cranked up playing bad 80s rock like Aerosmith and Def Leppard, which made it difficult to carry on a converation. This has never been an issue at the Lombard location. The odd thing about this is that it is clearly a cafe atmosphere rather than a bar atmosphere inside, although they do have some nice craft beers on tap. I guess I can see the blaring music later in the evening, but we were there around 5 pm, when virutally every table had young children at it. Is it too much to ask to be able to talk to your family at a cafe without having to shout over Def Leppard singing "Pour Some Sugar On Me"? Nice food and drinks guys, nice building, but how about turning down the music or maybe playing some quiet jazz and allowing your patrons to talk to each other?
