Our project was a somewhat complicated one - our backyard has a decent slope and we needed terraces…read morethat would be structurally sound given that our soil is extremely sandy. We needed a patio level, a small garden level, a turf/grass level, and then one last small garden level due to the slope. To maximize space, we wanted the majority of these walls to be near vertical block walls. The work is practically flawless. My father-in-law has a background in construction and even he was awe-inspired by the finished product. I cannot fathom anyone impugning the quality of Tim's work. To top it off, our neighbor's rockery was going to be disturbed by our work, and Tim (with permission from the neighbor) was actually able to help keep some soil erosion from their property at bay as a bonus and make their corner look much nicer. I will say that there was one issue we ran into - due to the odd way in which our side sewer was laid (it's an old house and replacing the entire side sewer would've been prohibitively expensive), we were forced to make non-trivial changes to our initial plan that resulted in some wasted work that Tim had to undo. This caused the project to go over budget and over time. Ultimately, we were able to work out a change order that both of us could agree was fair. The fact that he went long on time didn't particularly bother me - he's essentially a one man crew (with some help from laborers) and does not cut corners. While that may seem odd, the fact of the matter is that he is extraordinarily experienced and I've hired contractors in the past with larger crews that got the work done quickly but with important flaws. If I had to choose between a contractor who finishes exactly on schedule or one who takes longer but is meticulously detailed, it's no competition I want the second one (which is what Tim is).

Tim walked us through the various options for having a retaining wall given we wanted to preserve a large (30'+ tall tree). He explained all the possibilities with pros & cons as well as conveyed the city's building codes too. He also shared his recommendation for stone selection too. The quote Tim sent us was very reasonable. Tim arranged for the city mark the utility lines and came out a week later to do the work. He finished the job in a day just like he said and the wall was AMAZING. It was more impressive than what we originally thought; he added larger flat rocks to create a "bench" and natural rock path to make it easy to access the slope. Great for sitting and planting flowers and ground cover. Definitely recommend Eagle Rock and would use them again for future projects!

Few contractors are willing to take on an unfinished job someone else has botched, but Paul was "excited by the challenge". We hired him on the spot. The next day, his crew cleared all dirt and debris from the neighbor's yard that contractor #1 left for 6 months while blaming another company. We were so glad to have Paul and his energetic and happy crew go to work! He fully excavated after building a safety wall and mono-poured the entire foundation in one day! Prices were upper middle range of the 5 quotes I got -- so i selected them. They showed up on time and wasted no time getting to work, photos represent literally 2 days of prep and they were ready by day 3 to pour concrete ... they're amazing workers and very honest pricing, that'll get them a grand tip. I noticed an issue that needed to be fixed before the pour and John jumped all over it right away. John and Tim are good people to work with. I covered the slab with plastic sheeting held down by some scrap lumber around the edges after they finished. The concrete will develop much higher strength if you keep it from drying out while it cures.

They sent unskilled labor to our house who began tearing up our yard in a rather random manner. One of their labourers insisted on parking his dilapidated truck in our driveway that was leaking oil everywhere. I confronted him and he apologized, but parked in the exact same spot the next day and leaked more oil. He was too lazy to walk up the driveway. They run an amateur operation. Ariel runs the construction operation and Laura translates as he speaks little to no English making communication difficult. He rarely visited the site as they (admittedly) are overbooked and can't handle the work that they have taken on. The final straw was when I came home to a guy digging a crooked trench through our existing landscaping where we wanted a retaining wall (it wasn't even straight, he was killing plants we wanted to keep, and it was in a random location). There were no measurements, plumb lines, or any delineation markers. The guy was just swinging a pick axe. I called a planning meeting and Laura came over with a drawing she had oddly plastized with no dimensions on it that looked like a child drew it. Yes, it was in crayon! We asked for a refund and they refused. Our yard is destroyed and for that we had the privilege of being taken for our $9200.00 deposit. BEWARE!

Some even directly turned us down. Ariel and Laura produced a promising plan and a quote which we were happy with. We transformed a steep barren slope into flowerbeds with smart irrigation. They brought a brochure and samples so that we can select the materials that we like. During the job The crew came on time everyday. They carried their own mobile toilet so that they didn't need to borrow ours. Laura was very responsive on phone and text. They come regularly every a few days, but consulted us when there were decisions to make. We asked for additional paving during the job. They managed to incorporate that in the schedule. I could not communicate with the workers directly due to language. I didn't find that a problem. They leveled everything, which my previous landscaper never did! After the job They power washed everything and laid grass and seeds for the turf impacted by the job. Their job comes with a 10-year warranty. Laura said the warranty came with the materials and they find no reason not to pass to the customers. I really appreciate that but I haven't used it yet. We decide to work with them again for another project once I have the money.

Yesterday they came while I was at work and did the hedge on both sides and left a mess for me to clean I called again and left a message stating that and called over my neighbor to show her.
