I had an old cue that my father gave me when we used to play pool together 30 years ago. I've been wanting to get it re-tipped and usable again for a long time, but never took the time to take it somewhere, because most of the billiards stores around the vicinity (in Venice) sell tables only, or don't do this kind of work. I called down to Billiards & Barstools to see if they replaced cue tips, and sure enough they do. I spoke with Bob who said he could do it the same day. I took the journey down to South Bay, and within 15 minutes (probably less!) I had a cue with a brand new tip. Not only did he replace the tip, but filled in and sanded some cracks in the ferrule. This is a good place to go to buy everything you need for a game/entertainment room. They have pool tables, poker tables makeshift bars and all the necessary accessories. I came in to purchase bar stools. After doing a lot of research on the internet and looking around for other venues I determined that Billiards and Barstools has the best selection of not just regular bar stools but high quality locally built barstools. Given you will have to pay some money. Two barstools put me out $1200, but I feel it was a good investment and given their quality should last at least 30 years. read more

Most of the items are overpriced & from what I've heard from other customers, we've bought the same item from this shop & paid different prices. The numbers are too inconsistent. A little smug on the sales tactics if You ask me but maybe I was wrong. Not so great on the customer service depending what You look like. They have limited service hours that aren't posted. I went for repair work on a Monday, then telling me service is available M - F & the cue service person isn't even there. "Just buy it today & bring it back tomorrow for the service" he says. Went there today, and was greeted by Greg right away. He was very knowledgeable about pool, and helped me with decisions on purchasing a newer shaft. I brought in my cue, and he evaluated it, and found the bolt in the butt end was loose. also said my tip was fine. He then tighten up the bolt, and cleaned up my tip. He Complemented me on my Joss cue, pointing out the inlays, and that was nice of him. I felt little obligated to buy something (like he used reverse psychology on me :) since he spent so much time with me. So I bought a nice case and a glove. Highly recommenced. This place is great; it has everything you'll want, knowledgeable and friendly staff and the owner, Bob, will personally help you with anything and everything. My husband and I decided to buy a pool table, and after lots of research and discussions, we decided to buy from Bob at B&B South Bay. Bob took our order, kept us informed of the shipping status and personally came over one morning at 7AM to install the table himself. One thing we really appreciated was the no-pressure buying experience. We made several trips to the store during our decision-making process, asking about new and used tables, different styles and sizes, and never felt rushed or pressured. This is the type of place you want to buy from every time. Bob and his team will talk with you, answer every question and make sure you are happy with your purchase. We also bought a cocktail table style arcade game and weren't happy with the color of the cabinet and Bob took care of it right away. They come fully assembled and delivered with a smile. These barstools are sturdy, gorgeous, and very safe for our 4 year old to climb up. The finishes are really beautiful! I'm relatively new to Darts so consider this review accordingly. I regret not braving traffic into the South Bay or the Valley to be fit into my first decent set of Darts by competent competitors. This place caters to Pool players who don't mind a cluttered dusty store. It's pretty clear these folks consider Dart players a nuisance. Sure, if you're in the market for a new pool cue you can test it out and receive al kinds of options. If you're buying darts, the salesperson might regale you with horror stories adart customers missing the mark and putting holes in their precious drywall. There are 15 boards to buy and not one board to try out their limited and overpriced selection. Sure they threw in an extra set of $3 flights if I paid cash...whoopee. I understand their profit is in the name Billiards and Barstools, but c'mon don't make the customer feel like a burden. To their credit, All sales are final. Throw a dart and hope your $80 venture was worth the drive. read more
