Hit all three, food service and ambiance. Had a delightful lunch in Billagio. Had the gnocchi with waygu and a cesar salad. Small portions but very very tasteful. Our waiter was also very pleasant. Hidden gem.

It is hard to find a bad meal in Bellagio. Not sure it even exists. But pure excellence is also hard to find. We found it here! The wine menu is exceptional. The octopus in pea purée is not to be missed. The whole fish served table side is unmatched. The T Bone would make any Texan jealous. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Make Bilacus one of your stops while you are in this beautiful part of the world. Just be sure to Make a reservation. They are open for lunch and dinner.

This was the first meal of our Lake Como trip. The terrace is very nice and has views of the popular street in Lake Como. The only downside was that there are a lot of bees/flies due to the florals that are lining the terrace. Not the restaurants fault! The food was pretty good, not our best meal but it was satisfying. The fish we got was really fresh and a massive portion (unfortunately I didn't snap a photo).

Wowowow. Probably one of the best pastas I've had. I came for lunch and I got the 35 euro for 2 course option. It comes with water, wine, and dessert. They also have a 3 course option for 45 euros. They sat me right away without wait which was awesome. I got the burrata with cherry tomatoes for my first course and their mussel pasta for my second. Dessert was a slice of apple cake with vanilla ice cream. Service was incredible. View was great.

This was my fourth favorite restaurant from our Italy trip. We had a beautiful day trip to Bellagio, Italy and we are so happy that our walk through the million steps led to here. We snatched the last table and qualityyy Italian food. Service, ambience, and food were fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone traveling here.

Steak as rare as a living cow!!! Or sit in a cellar, mangia beve falice La vita! This place came highly rated from my hotel concierge down the road. No Ubers here so taxi ride.. about €50 each way cause my driver was like a transporter suited up in his Audi 7 series. But it's pitch dark at night so it works. It's also hidden. But the restaurant call him after for me to go back. So that's a win! Bustling at night, super busy. I chose to sit inside cause they had air conditioning which is rare. Plus, live music! The usual/ primi was pasta: I had tagliatelle pomodoro with olives, and also ragu bolognese ( a bit rich). Fried perch on risotto came highly recommended but it was pure sage and butter. Not a fan. The steak! Not a fan. I like rare steak but the way they made it just wasn't good. Polenta cake was good though. And the espresso & panna cotta was good too. Even though secondi/ meat dishes were blah, I still liked the vibes, energy, fun server and food. Pasta & wine are solid. Worth a visit!

In the center of Lake Como's most famous town -- Bellagio -- is Bilacus. On a wonderful outdoor terrace overlooking one of the main streets, Bilacus is a great restaurant serving true local fare. The food is fresh, simple and delicious. This is where the locals and the regulars come to eat. It is not cheap, but it is amazing.

If this is the only restaurant open during the late hours of the day, I believe it's better to go get gelato nearby instead . It was recommended by the owner of Hotel Centrale so when Trattoria de San Giacomo refused us since their kitchen is closed , we went to this "higher scale Italian restaurant". I got the crispy pork and I asked how it will be crisped and the guy who took our order said it will be cooked in the oven and not fried . I was so excited to crack the skin when it was served but lo and behold , the table knife can't even get into it because it was tough as leather . I have raised my concern when the guy came to ask us how's our food and to my surprise he said that that's the way the pork should have been cooked . Do not fool an Asian lady who knows how to crisp up pork skin in the oven . And my husband's rack of lamb was seared ( browned) outside but bloody red inside . I had to call the waiter too to to show it to the chef because even he agreed that it was not cooked properly. We are Texans and we know how to cook our meats / proteins . It was late at night so I do not know who was in the kitchen but when customers complain, one should acknowledge. Only the wine made my husband happy and the small pieces of pastries that came complimentary after our meal. I would pay the same amount of money somewhere else ..

Delicious food with a delicious view! I ordered their fried perch on risotto (a Lake Como speciality) and it was fantastic. The fish was super fresh and fried perfectly. The risotto was flavor, with just a touch of saffron, but not too heavy. And the views, oh the views! You get seated outdoors on their terrace, overlooking some steep steps leading people up the Bellagio cliffs. So, you'll be able to do some fun people watching while doing on your scrumptious meal.

I spent 10 days in Italy. My dinner at Bilacus was the worst meal I ate. It's odd that a meal here fell so flat. When we asked our hotel for recommendations, the clerk pointed to Bilacus immediately. We were excited to dine here. Because Lake Como can get fairly chilly at night, Bilacus has a semi-enclosed outdoor porch area with heat lamps. When you're seated, you may also be offered a blanket. That's a nice touch. I looked up above the table to see a mesh screen on a window leading to the kitchen. It was coated in grease/oil. It's the kind of thing Gordon Ramsay would spot on "Kitchen Nightmares" and scream at the owner about. If they don't notice or care about yellow slicks on their window screens, where else are they dropping the ball? I began with the penne arrabiata (€10). The sauce was watery and mostly flavorless. A definite letdown. For my second course, I went with the tagliata griglia (steak, €20). This was the real crime. The cut of meat was really awful - tough and gristly. Despite asking for it medium rare, it was clearly cooked medium well. I ate other steaks in Italy that practically disintegrated when my knife hit the meat. At Bilacus, I was forced to saw away at a steak that had all the texture of an old boot. The total damage for our meal was €77.50, which is horrendous for the poor quality of the food. During our time in Lake Como, we vastly preferred BabaYaga and La Fontana. If you find yourself headed toward Bilacus, keep strolling on. There are better, less expensive meals all around.

    Very tasty fish and vegetables

If you are in Bellagio, you must dine at Bilacus! The food is scrumptious and the service is impeccable! Pictures give you an idea of the treat it is to dine at Bilacus.

The particular alley it was on was not as bustling as the others and the outdoor tables looked inviting as we passed by. We ended up dining inside, where we could be seated immediately. Worth trying if you're adventurous and want to familiarize yourself with the cuisine of the Valtellina valley. We also had a more classic red sauce pasta (lasagne al ragù di carne). Very thin, light, and elegant noodles in both dishes. An excellent portion size for lunch. Service was attentive and outstanding. What a beautiful setting and the day was warm and sunny. We each ordered a glass of wine, and then scoured the menu, finally settling on a pasta dish for one, pizza for the other one, and Mr. Bee and I split a pizza. When in Italy one must have as much pizza as you can. Each is different, but never a bad one. I have to say, the pizza was the best we had on the trip. The crust was light and crunchy, but tender. The sauce was simple but incredible. The mushrooms and prosciutto were the icing on the pie. The service was friendly and fast. We absolutely loved our lunch at this little eatery.

We sampled local cuisine and shopped our hearts out before returning to our villa on the shore of Lake Como. However... upon reflection, a more accurate memory features a very sweaty Nico hobbling on blistered feet, sans Clooney, in desperate need of shade and refreshment. Now that I recall, Forma e Gusto came into my life at a perfect moment in time. Tucked in between several buildings, under a lush canopy of leaves, Forma e Gusto offers respite on a hot summer day. The restaurant offers intimate indoor seating, as well as several tables lining the covered alley. Be sure to check out the charming outdoor bar as well. Their menu offers most of the usual dishes found on Lake Como, with a few surprises thrown in. I ordered the Ravioli di Pesce di Lago, buttery raviolis filled with trout and goat cheese. I made the right choice! I've since tried to replicate this deliciousness at home and have failed spectacularly! The restaurant's raviolis were the result of locally sourced ingredients skillfully prepared by someone with years of experience. I have vivid sense memory of those remarkable raviolis; I hope to one day taste them again. I was only in Bellagio for a single afternoon, and didn't have the opportunity to dine elsewhere. It's possible there are restaurants more deserving of your attention, however Forma e Gusto came to my rescue with their delicious food and outstanding customer service. (Roberto deserves an award for his ability to effortlessly multitask, and to describe the menu items poetically. He's no George Clooney, but he's a gem for sure!)
