We had a quick pit stop here for lunch and enjoyed everything we ordered. Only thing was it took awhile to get our orders. Pizzas were delicious and crispy!

Excellent red wines

La Fontana restaurant is the best Italian restaurant in Bellagio. The Caprese salad and the mixed salad are the freshest I have ever had. I have never had such a fresh Buffalo mozzarella and the sweet and sour firm tomatoes are to die for. Another great dish was the homemade truffle pizza and the seafood ravioli. The ribs were also very tasty. The restaurant is very clean. The white crisp table cloth and the very tasteful decoration makes the restaurant very cozy. The red wines are excellent. The service is 1st class. I highly recommend this restaurant. We ate here twice and comparing this restaurant with other restaurant in Bellagio La Fontana is the winner! I highly recommend this restaurant. :-)

Food was amazing!! The pasta carbonara was to die for. We did not have a reservation, but still got seated within 20 minutes. The service was great and fast. The actual restaurant is cute and cozy. Can't wait to come back!

Fantastic, local food in a lovely family setting. Service was very friendly. Reservations recommended as they fill up fast. Would definitely recommend and seek out again in Bellagio.

Pesto pasta, GF lasagna and artichokes- the GF lasagna was different it was more of a dough than pasta noodles it wasn't bad but I wouldn't recommend it. The pesto pasta had really good flavor, noodles were just a bit hard still. The artichokes were good, but they were just artichoke hearts so can't go wrong there really. They provided gf rice crackers which was nice.

Lobster ravioli (top) and carbonara (bottom). Really great pastas!!

This restaurant is quite exquisite. The lobster, ravioli and carbonara were amazing. You will not regret trying this restaurant. The ambience outside is quite wonderful even though you don't have a view of the lake. The service is very quick so you can explore Bellagio after.

Great place to eat in Bellagio. We ordered the pear walnut salad, carbonara, ravioli, pistachio soufflé, and the chocolate pear dessert. The pear walnut salad was simple but refreshing as a starter. The carbonara was not as good as I thought.. too much egg yolk that made it too eggy. The ravioli was delicious and I definitely recommend the pistachio souffle and chocolate pear dessert. Service was slow but overall the food was great.

Amazing dinner in Bellagio. Best meal we have had on our visit to Italy thus far. The seafood here is amazing and the gnocchi is probably too 2 for all gnocchis I have ever had! To top it off they are super kid friendly and the owner took time to hang out with us and spend time with our 3 year old. Wait for a table outside and enjoy the wine on tap!

If you find yourself in Bellagio, find La Fontana Bellagio. It is not on the water and it does not have a view, but if you are a foodie, this is your place. I had a Pancacio pizza - Mozzarella fiordilatte, sweet bacon, caciocavallo cheese, yellow cherry tomatoes, and black pepper. It was superb!

Spinach and ricotta ravioli and veal

3.5 stars Pros: - Veal was super soft and perfectly cooked - Delicious rosé Cons: - We found the dishes good but overpriced for quality and quantity. - Spinach and ricotta ravioli lacked sauce and flavor (compared to other pictures of same plate on Yelp & Tripadvisor).

After Lake Como provided the worst meal of my Italian vacation (cough, Bilacus, cough), I was overjoyed to discover the friendly service and excellent flavors at La Fontana Bellagio. The decor isn't much to look at. Tables are packed pretty tightly. But the food delivers. I had a pesto penne (€9) that was pretty great. The pesto was creamier than most you'll encounter in Italy, but it was really nice. Penne was cooked perfectly. I followed that up with tagliata di manzo (steak, €20). When I ordered, they asked how I wanted it cooked. "Medium rare," I said. "Thank you for not killing it," the server said. Props for acceptable food snobbery/humor! The steak was delivered on a sizzling platter for some reason. That was kinda weird and unnecessary. It was cooked perfectly (take notes, you butchers at Bilacus). One real downer was that all the desserts seemed to be pre-made, sitting in a refrigerator in the dining room, each one covered in plastic wrap. We did not eat dessert, so I can't say if they were as disappointing as they looked. Our total bill was €71.50 for two people. On the higher side, sure, but the food hit the spot.

Carbonara and receipt. Prices are good. Would not eat here again though.

The people that give you a table have no idea. They will take a bigger group before 2 or 3 people. They are not nice at all.

The particular alley it was on was not as bustling as the others and the outdoor tables looked inviting as we passed by. We ended up dining inside, where we could be seated immediately. The decor was impressive and fun. We went with a local buckwheat noodle dish (pizzoccheri), which had a very unique and earthy flavor. Recommended to grind fresh pepper on it before enjoying. Worth trying if you're adventurous and want to familiarize yourself with the cuisine of the Valtellina valley. We also had a more classic red sauce pasta (lasagne al ragù di carne). Very thin, light, and elegant noodles in both dishes. An excellent portion size for lunch. Service was attentive and outstanding. Stop by for a quiet and delicious lunch in the busy little lakeside village of Bellagio.

We sat outside and ordered an Aperol Spritz ,made exceptionally well , along with a delicious platter of assorted cheeses and jams. This is a perfect spot to sit and unwind , highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant in Bellagio with the cutest outdoor terrace plus delicious food!…read more We had a reservation at this restaurant on a weekday night, and I would definitely recommend getting a reservation if you can since it was quite busy when we were there. We ended up getting seated right at the edge of the vine-covered terrace overlooking the beautiful Salita Serbelloni which just gave such a romantic vibe overall. All of the food we had was phenomenal. We started with the roasted octopus and potato gnocchi, both of which were very tasty with great flavors. The octopus was cooked perfectly, and I also loved the ragu sauce that went with the gnocchi. Then, my fiance and I had their fish of the day which they cook up in front of you, and it was served with seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes. This was absolutely delicious -- the fish was tender and so fresh!

I think partly it was that our general online research offered a lunch menu that was a la carte, but they only had a prefix menu when we were dining there. In the end, I personally feel like this is more 3.5 stars, and what made it just shy of 4 stars was that the prefix menu felt like a cash grab. The dishes themselves were hit or miss (eg the cacio e pepe dish was subpar and the flavor wasn't great) but we had a beef tartare that was pretty good!

What a beautiful setting and the day was warm and sunny. We each ordered a glass of wine, and then scoured the menu, finally settling on a pasta dish for one, pizza for the other one, and Mr. Bee and I split a pizza. When in Italy one must have as much pizza as you can. Each is different, but never a bad one. I have to say, the pizza was the best we had on the trip. The crust was light and crunchy, but tender. The sauce was simple but incredible. The mushrooms and prosciutto were the icing on the pie. The service was friendly and fast. We absolutely loved our lunch at this little eatery.

It's remarkably easy for memories of time spent in Italy to take on Felliniesque qualities. In…read morecinematic black and white detail, I distinctly recall spending an afternoon strolling the cobbled passageways of Bellagio with my beau, George Clooney. We sampled local cuisine and shopped our hearts out before returning to our villa on the shore of Lake Como. However... upon reflection, a more accurate memory features a very sweaty Nico hobbling on blistered feet, sans Clooney, in desperate need of shade and refreshment. Now that I recall, Forma e Gusto came into my life at a perfect moment in time. Tucked in between several buildings, under a lush canopy of leaves, Forma e Gusto offers respite on a hot summer day. The restaurant offers intimate indoor seating, as well as several tables lining the covered alley. Be sure to check out the charming outdoor bar as well. Their menu offers most of the usual dishes found on Lake Como, with a few surprises thrown in. I ordered the Ravioli di Pesce di Lago, buttery raviolis filled with trout and goat cheese. I made the right choice! I've since tried to replicate this deliciousness at home and have failed spectacularly! The restaurant's raviolis were the result of locally sourced ingredients skillfully prepared by someone with years of experience. I have vivid sense memory of those remarkable raviolis; I hope to one day taste them again. I was only in Bellagio for a single afternoon, and didn't have the opportunity to dine elsewhere. It's possible there are restaurants more deserving of your attention, however Forma e Gusto came to my rescue with their delicious food and outstanding customer service. (Roberto deserves an award for his ability to effortlessly multitask, and to describe the menu items poetically. He's no George Clooney, but he's a gem for sure!)
