    Avacado Tartare

Piazza Roma is absolutely great. Great food, great service, great personality. Avocado Tartare to start was a masterpiece in plating and tasted just as good. Scialatielli pasta was a perfect dish as well. Ended with a soup dessert. Chamomile Pineapple Soup was not something I had seen on a menu. Had to try it and was not disappointed. Friendly folks and memorable dining. Do not miss this opportunity!

Fresh home made items that you will remember long after the moments spent here.

What a find! We had a wonderful lunch here away from the crowds - terrific service, fabulous food (octopus, tomato pasta, fish of the day) and fun interior. Would definitely come here again!

The definition of a family owned restaurant. There were between 5-7 items in each section menu, as well as only about 10-12 total tables. The lamb was phenomenal with a thick and flavorful crust. The ham with burrata cheese might have been the best cheese i've ever had. All the pasta was homemade and absolutely delicious as well as the cheese. My family agreed the cheesecake and tiramisu were the best we've ever had. The chocolate covered poached pear was one of the coolest dessert presentations i've seen in a dessert. The service was even better than the food. The waiter was the eldest son of the owner and gave fantastic recommendations. The owner was constantly walking around chatting with the customers. They were so friendly and welcoming. Truly can't be beat if you're in Lake Como!

Stopped in Piazza Roma while in Como to celebrate a special occasion, and we had the BEST experience!! The owner came to chat with us and gave us all the best food and wine recommendations. He truly cares about his customers and their dining experience!! Be sure to save room for tiramisu and cheesecake at the end!

    Ham and Burrata

We were super excited to try this place considering the outstanding reviews and unfortunately I had a mixed experience. The inside and ambiance is quite eclectic but the service is great and we felt incredibly taken care of our whole meal. I really enjoyed the ham and burrata appetizer as the cheese was incredibly fresh and meat was flavor packed. The table bread could have been better as it was a bit dense and dry so it didn't go as well with our appetizer as I would have hoped. Our main courses were the mezzelune and the tomato/burrata pasta (I forget the name but started with an S). My friend said the tomato/burrata pasta was one of the best pasta dishes he has ever had in his life and in Italy claiming it was incredibly rich and full bodied. On the other hand, I ordered the mezzelune which had sage, butter, and perch and I was a bit skeptical to order it because of the fish (as I am not the biggest fan of fish in my pasta), however our waiter assured me of the lack of fish taste and how memorable the pasta would be. Unfortunately, I found the fish flavor quite strong and felt it lacked cheese so it had more of a dry texture to it. The pasta also felt a bit hard and I wouldn't order it again. Overall, I wouldn't discount Piazza Roma but would just order wisely before picking!

Best meal we have during our week in Como .The menu was very creative. The local fish crudo was delicious and the best lamb dish my wife and I have had in a very long time. The service was very attentive. The seating space indoor and outdoor was pretty and intimate. I highly recommend this restaurant when you come to Como.

Wonderful restaurant. Me and my parents went there yesterday and were extremely impressed. It's a family owned business and it really shows. The owners were so nice and talkative. They gave us free Prosecco, extra pasta servings, free dessert, and a free bottle of wine. It was all amazing. I can't say enough good things about the food or the service at this restaurant. 10/10 recommend.

Tagliolini al missoltino del Lario e passata di pomodori

Piazza Roma is a must try when in Como! A lot of people think that just because you visit Italy that all the restaurants you go to are going to be fantastic but that's not the case. After doing a lot of research I stumbled upon Piazza Roma having a lot of raving reviews. My fiancé and I decided to book a reservation for our last night there and it was a fantastic way to end our trip. It's off the beaten path in the quiet and quaint Piazza Roma so immediately we knew it wasn't going to be an average run of the mill tourist trap. We were seated and the ambiance was unreal. It was very romantic and relaxing, just how you'd picture a dimmer in Italy to be. We enjoyed the meal how you are supposed to eat Italian dinners by starting with Antipasti, moving to primi then secondi & then finalizing with dessert. Since it was our last night we decided to splurge on an expensive bottle of Barolo. The owner of this spot was extremely friendly and welcoming wanted to make our night special upgraded are bottle at no extra charge. Like all places, they placed bread in front of us which we enjoyed with some olive oil and balsamic & it was delicious. They were very generous and brought bread with every course. For our Antipasti, we ordered the Crudo di Parma con Burrata di Andria and it was so fresh and high quality. I've been to restaurants where they give subpar quality to tourists so it was greatly appreciated that at Piazza Roma they treated us as one of their own. For our Primi we ordered two pasta dishes: Tagliolini al missoltino del Lario e passata di pomodori and the Scialatielli fatti in casa con pomodorini freschi e stracciatella di bufala. Both were incredible dishes that popped with amazing flavor. For our secondi we decided to split the Pescato del Lario al burro e salvia con julienne di zucchina. This dish was a locally caught Lake Como fish lightly fried with a zucchini julienne. The fish was light, crispy and so fresh...amazing! My fiancé wasn't a fan of zucchini until she tried this. The zucchini was prepared perfectly and was a great accoutrement to the fish. Finally we ended the night with dessert. We were full so we decided to split the Tiramisu Tradizionale & it was a great way to end our meal. We also ordered espresso and the waiter decided to give us Limoncello as well as an after dinner drink. He was a great server...very attentive and personable. He even comped our espressos and of course the limoncello was on the house. This place was fantastic and was the perfect way to end our visit to Como. I recommend coming here if you're in Como. Make sure you make a reservation because they will turn you away if not. They are about quality and not quantity here which I very much appreciated.

We found this restaurant through Google Reviews and generally had high hopes, but were blown away by the experience. We ordered salads to share, drinks, and pasta before a tiramisu - I went for a seafood pasta (see pictures) and negroni. We definitely could have avoided getting the two salads; portions were massive and we ended up not finishing either salad. My main course was delicious. The pasta had a zesty, fresh flavor between the lemon, olive oil, parsley and tomato, but the welcome surprise was seeing mounds of mussels, clams and shrimp inside the dish (I'm from New York and expected maybe 10 total) that took me almost 5 minutes to deshell before I went to town on it. Cocktails were excellent - hard to see from the photos but huge and delicious. Resulted in a great midday buzz. Limoncello spritz was also good but perhaps too strong for a lunchtime drink. Other courses ordered: - Lamb ravioli - Had 1-2 bites and tasted good, but probably a 3.5-4. Not really up to my palate and compared to my own entree, hard to beat :) - Carbonara - Solid. Incredibly rich and this was an entree where the large portions actually hurt more than helped - Salads - Hard to tell bc I was full of pasta Minor ding if anything is the ambiance. It's a block or so away from the crazy shore of Como but still was getting a bit loud by the time we left. Not a real complaint and didn't affect our experience, but if you're looking for a more quiet and relaxed experience you might want to go to a less touristy area. Thank you for a lovely meal!

Being so close to Italy, you can tell Lugano has a heavy Italian influence both in the culture, language and food. So it was no surprise that although in Switzerland, we still found good Italian food. The atmosphere has a bit of an upscale feel which just seemed to fit in well with the rest of how Lugano feels. We didn't have reservations but we had no problem getting in. For starters, they brought us out some cold cut meats and bread to try to try. It was a nice touch and though one person in our party was vegan and couldn't eat the meat, the rest of us devoured it all and enjoyed the offering. For my dish, I ordered the spaghetti alla gricia, which is essentially spaghetti, cheese and ham. It was delicious and I suggest you order it. The menu changes, I believe, daily so be sure you were given the right menu. At first we were given the wrong one which made for some confusion when the dishes ordered weren't available. Thankfully, it was remedied quickly. The restaurant does tout having vegetarian and vegan options which wasn't really true when we go there. Though they have symbols for both options, nothing on their menu had these symbols on it...how odd. The waitress and chef were accommodating and made a special meal for my friend but I think in the future if you're going to say you have a separate menu for these dishes, at least include a couple of dishes in the main menu. The price was fairly spot on to how expensive Switzerland is. About 22 chf for my meal and same for the others.

The service was very friendly, correct and informal. We were very much pleased with the contact with our waiter. The dishes followed at a correct pace. We got a freebie dish before our main course ("focaccia", but it was rather a blind baked pizza dough cut in pieces), not bad. The food itself was ok, but nothing more. Simple, and tasty. PS, this is an update to the very short draft I wrote earlier on.
