I am not sure which employee it was but he approached me and I asked if he could walk outside with me to take a look at the flat. Annoyed by the request, he asks me to bring the bike inside to take a look. While I know this may be the way to inspect a bike, I am carrying my two year old son, so I am not going to ask someone to watch him, nor let him roam, while I unhook the trailer and wheel my e-bike into the store. Anyways, he does come outside and seems to quickly turn more annoyed that I do not know the size of my tires or what the exact issue is. He curtly says I'd have to leave my bike with him as he can't do anything about it right now, plus he sprinkles in a mention of a $40 charge for work on an e-bike not purchased there. I clearly didn't have the means to leave my bike right then and there so I said nevermind, and asked if they had any suggestions for a quick fix in the meantime. "Nope" was the response I got. Great...thanks... By the way, there is a quick fix. Slime or FlatOut are pretty cheap products at ACE or Walmart to fix even a flat e-bike fat tire. I'd be shocked to find out this employee wasn't aware of that product. Even if it is just a temporary solution or not. Regardless of the lack of welcoming feeling, I thank you for making me look this up myself so that I could save money and won't need to return to this shop again.

They provide excellent customer service, and expert repair. The prices are a bit cheaper than other expert shops, and their turnaround is faster. You don't have to make an appointment (which is inconvenient, and a bummer to have to wait). Just pop in! Parking and entrance are around back.

These are original parts from a bike I've owned for decades, so they have significant personal and historical value. For several months, I stopped by the shop multiple times. Each time, Clay told me he would get to them soon. I wasn't in a rush, as I was in the process of painting the frame and gathering other parts, so I was patient. Eventually, I returned to the shop only to find it permanently closed. After some effort, I located Clay through Facebook. His only response to me was that he "doesn't have any wheels here," with no further explanation or follow-up. Since then, I have received no responses despite multiple attempts to contact him, including through mutual connections. At this point, my original wheels and bottom bracket have not been returned, and I have been given no clear answers. I find this situation extremely upsetting and unprofessional. I stopped in the Platt Park location today (3/18/25) to drop my mountain bike off for a tune and ask a question about the rear suspension. After a nice gentleman (not sure of his name) brought me upstairs to check my bike in, a fascinating yet extremely disappointing experience occurred. Maurice, the bike tech upstairs, was extremely annoyed from the second the other employee and I arrived upstairs, stating he was busy, 'so this better be quick.' He proceeded to exude annoyance, arrogance, and disdain at the fact a customer was there. Then Maurice, unprompted, started making fun of the fact my bike brand (Specialized). Every single moment of the conversation was just another jab or snide remark that I was there... in a bike shop... to drop my bike for a tune. I guess they don't like money? Then he said I had 5 minutes to tell him exactly what I needed before he had to go to a meeting. I just said I needed a tune. As he was clearly annoyed and rushing to collect my information, he was being so rude I told him nevermind, I'll just find another shop or come back another time they weren't so busy. He couldn't have gotten my bike down from the stand fast enough nor have been happier to have potential customer leave. Maurice, go touch grass. And for the shop owners, good luck staying in business with an employee like this. I'll be going to another shop despite you being a block from my house. Highly recommend AVOIDING this shop at all costs.

Not only did they replace the tubes, but showed me a couple of tricks to make it easier for me next time. He then took the time to ensure brakes were adjusted, shifting cables were clean and adjusted, and even checked the headset to ensure it was safely snug. I couldn't be happier!

My tires exploded in my car because the tech overfilled my tires. Then, they tried to blame my tires instead of taking responsibility. Oh, and I have tubless tires, which means the liquid got all over my car. Next, they claimed they couldn't fix my squeaky brakes because I need a special type of brake pad. Just took them to another shop and they were able to swap them out. Lastly, their tune-ups literally take weeks to complete. How is that even possible?! Really cute store setup, but honestly, complete airheads fixing bikes who actually know nothing. I might as well try to fix my bike instead. Go somewhere else on Colfax to get bike repair services. I had them do the service on my Fox 38 fork back then. The turn around time was great, and price was very attractive as well. Months later my rear shock, a Fox X2 needed service so again, I took it to Kickstand. They do the work in house, which is very attractive to me. The guys at Kickstand are as honest as the day is long, and stand behind their work. I had a small issue with my rear shock and they took care of it in a friendly and professional manner. Integrity matters a LOT to me. These guys have it. I do most of my MTB work myself, but I will be taking all my suspension work to Kickstand from now on. I can't rave about them enough.
