Very knowledgeable, caring staff. Unbelievable quality service. If you must shop or purchase at Bikestop I highly recommend Chris. Unfortunately the owner Ross did not provide the same level of courtesy and respect his employees do. I am 57 and ride gently. I test rode the bike on their lot, and owned it less than 24 hours. I rode it less than a few miles on a paved road near home to discover it didn't perform as expected. I brought it back cleaner than it was at delivery. I thought agreeing with the owner to cover 6-10% was more than generous for the hassle and any tiny expenses, but when I arrived back to return the unit the owner got more involved and changed the terms. Chris my sales person vouched for me, knowing my character and the overall situation, but it wasn't enough for the owner Ross. According to him there is no return policy on bikes. He made an exception for me, and kept 15% of my money on a return instead of the agreed 10.. In that conversation with him, Ross whined about loosing money via credit card fees and taxes. Furthermore he went on to say that the transaction was "painful and inconvenient" indicating he was still doing me a nice favor by returning 85% of my money. As the conversation unfolded, I suspect Chris took some heat for the level of service he had provided. Chris over delivered and under promised, not the other way around. In the end I was surprised to learn the owner was more interested in the restocking fee, knowing good and well the bike could be resold as brand new (no different than the lot rides myself and others had taken). He would not consider the idea that future business and relationships are more valuable than restocking fees. I am on my way back to the Trek shop to purchase a unit from them. Trek understands this concept. In fact, they offer a 30 day, no questions asked, full refund in the event a unit doesn't fit well or perform to expectations. I'll also be purchasing a second bike for my wife, parts and gear. Provided it goes as good business should, I'll be referring businesses elsewhere. If Ross can ever grasp value in changing his policy to a more consumer friendly one, I'd love to work with his staff and his outfit in the future because I like supporting my local shop. Until then, I'm afraid I'll have to hand over my hard earned money to corporate giants. What a shame. read more

My ICE TRIKE 1-1-2022 by The Pedalin' Prof I'd moved HateBusters Headquarters from my faculty office at William Jewell College to my home in Liberty years before my phone rang the morning of April 12, 2019. Inspired Cycle Engineering was calling from Cornwall England to tell me they had an American distributor in Lee's Summit. I'd been intrigued by the online description of their ICE TRIKE and had Emailed them. I called Bike Stop in Lee's Summit with the number provided from England and learned that ICE TRIKES are kept at their Blue Springs Bike Stop. I was there within the hour and bought the high-dollar Sprint because it was red, color of the bike I always rode. I didn't really want a three-wheel recumbent, but I could no longer balance two-wheels. With bike riding the only medicine I take to keep my MS at bay, I have to ride. I had already biked across America and many thousands of miles in more than a dozen other countries. A three-wheeler doesn't take me as far or as fast, but with 30 gears, the ICE trike masters any terrain. I've yet to find the hill it can't climb. But after living 56-years in the same house in the town of Liberty, my wife and I are moving to John Knox Village, about 20 miles south, where all conceivable needs are provided. This place has attracted us for several reasons: It is in the town of Lee's Summit, where both of our sons live. Our dear neighbor of 43 years in Liberty will again be our neighbor at John Knox. John Knox has found a safe and secure in-door parking place for my ICE trike, and when I discovered that Bike Stop, American home of British ICE TRIKE, is just one block away, the deal was sealed. John Knox Village is not in the town of Liberty, but is in the place I call Greater Liberty. I call it this because on my bike ride across the country, I biked 125 miles on my longest days. For this ride from Orlando northwest to Seattle and then south to Anaheim, Disney held a parade, gave me a trophy and named me "The Pedalin' Prof". When I got home to Liberty after riding 5,126-miles in 105 days, I drew a 125-mile circle around our town and dubbed this place Greater Liberty, a placegoing north to Creston, Iowa and south to Carthage, Missouri; west to Manhattan, Kansas and east to Columbia, Missouri, a place that is also the principle I teach and try to live. The principle is that we each have greater liberty than we ever practice to live above and beyond all the adjectives others might attach to us or that we simply assume. Now that I have moved from the town of Liberty to a place in Greater Liberty, my primary biking allegiance accompanies me. Biscari Brothers Bicycles has been my Liberty home since before this century began and has performed exemplary service. Now with Bike Stop so near and the home of my ICE TRIKE, I turn to them when I need mechanical help. The folks in both remain ever gentle on my mind and in my heart. I just bought a bike off of Facebook marketplace and stopped by to have them look at it. They were busy, but everybody was extremely high energy doing whatever it took to take care of everybody. I love going into businesses like this. One of the salesman came out and gave me some advice about my bike, very knowledgeable and very interested in taking care of me rather than squeezing a dollar out of me. The owner was helping customers as well. Turns out I'm probably able to solve my bike problem, but If I ever need to buy something Or need service for my bike, I'm coming here. read more

Stopped in on Tuesday to switch a freewheel to fixed. Advised on what I need to do but, since I didn't have the correct tool, Barry said he'd make the change while I waited. While waiting on some advice, and as a few other customers came in, so Barry adjusted the brakes and twisted my neck (the one on the handlebars) for a more comfortable ride-strictly as a customer service. The technical issue was solved, price was fair and I was out the door--a little safer with the neck and brakes properly set and happy that the conversion was done to exact specs. read more

I just have to really recommend this bike shop. Recently went there to buy a new bike that I had researched on-line for some time. The service is great and the staff is very helpful. I'd like to note that I had the opportunity to purchase my new bike from a shop closer to where I work (actually, quite closer), though given the service difference the extra distance is definitely worth it. Customer service is superb! Two days before the 2013 Ouachita Challenge Race I noticed my sons rear brake was dragging. The tire wouldn't even make one revolution when spun by hand. I called Bike Stop at 6:10PM, asked if they could get me in, yes come on in. I arrived 3 minutes prior to closing. The bike went on the stand and the front door was locked. They stayed late, and wrenched the bike to perfection! Thanks guys, my son made and finished the race, NO mechanicals. You guys rock. read more
