I went in specifically looking for a U-lock for my commuter bike, and they had lots of options all priced as good as you'd find online. The staff was helpful but not intrusive as I wandered around trying to get my bearings. One reason I'm not quite at five stars is that it's still so new to me; I haven't had them work on any of my bikes, bought any big ticket items, etc. I lightly perused the bike selection which is pretty good, at least for right now in these weird supply-chain times. There's a big parking lot out front (rare for midtown) and it's easy to get to from the Plaza/Brookside/Westport. Recommend giving them a go and looking forward to updating this down the road after a few more visits!

The…read morefirst time there were four people behind the counter eating and although no one else was in the shop, nobody even acknowledged that I was there. Someone finally came who was pretty uninterested in helping me as well. I don't remember what I needed that day, only that their rudeness or aloofness left a strong impression. Today I called because I had a set of tubeless tires that I had set up but I was unable to get the bead on the tire set without a compressor. I called and asked if they could help and they said yes, leave them overnight and for $25 per tire we will do it. I said no thanks because that seemed ridiculous to charge $25 to air up a tire. I even called back five minutes later to clarify that the tubeless tires were already set up, they just needed aired by a compressor. Yes, that's $25 per tire. I managed to get one tire seated with an adapter and the air compressor at Quick Trip but the other one wouldn't seat. I ended up in Olathe and stopped at Eriks bikes, took the wheel in and the mechanic said sure, but if it doesn't seat I'll have to check it in. It took him literally 15 seconds to pop air in the tire. He handed it back, no charge. I made sure to stop at the front counter and thank them and I also bought $45 worth of handlebar tape. I spend hundreds of dollars a year at my local bike shop. I lived in Arizona until last year. what I asked for was not some extravagant, free service. This is something that any local bike shop, and I've lived in several areas of the country, just does. It's literally putting air in a tire. Southward thinks if they have something you need, whatever it is, that you should be able to take you for whatever they would like. Never again.

Best best is to go onto the shop. If you are HARDCORE into mountain biking this is your local spot for Service & high end parts, Onestar had a LOT. Somehow they have parts you can't even get online and at a better price. Shop itself: It's a very small shop and there are party everywhere in kind of an organized disarray lol I just bought parts so I'm only reviewing this aspect. Parts: I was told he had a Carbon Revel Rascal Frame. He actually had a few! I asked about the frame (He was very knowledgeable) I needed a BB, sram cassette and a sram chain. I had to ask because it would have taken me a week to find the parts myself. But he got everything together and he gave me a really fair price. Cool knowledgeable guy with great parts at fair prices! what else do you need to know.

They installed a mismatch color wheel, my daughter was cool with it so I didn't push it, on the way home from getting it fixed the inner tube failed while in the back of our car, they fixed with no issue. A week and a half later the inner tube failed again, I brought it up, Jacob looked at it and pointed out it was on the inside so it was not from a puncture while riding so that kinda leaves poor installation or faulty products. The worst part was they charged me for it. If we ran over something, I can see that, but it was either installation error, something in the wheel they installed, or a faulty inner tube they installed. Not sure their policy, and I'm sure they'll come back with some wonderful explanation of why they charge me $30 for it but when I asked are they really gonna charge me for their product failing, they didn't seem to care, offered to take half off sheepishly. Nah, if you're gonna charge me, I'll pay full price if that's the way you're going to run your business.
