We took our kids here on a winter break, gray day and it was a lot of fun. First off, there's a mini aquarium when you walk in -- it's nothing to write home about, but it gets the kids attention and they realize right away this is a fun store. From there, you can't miss the gigantic ferris wheel in the middle of the store. Gonna be real, it's fun and worth the wait but also a bit nerve wracking. Something is just odd about quietly swaying at the top of a department store quietly for such a long time. My daughter was like, "Dad, I'm scared to look down!" and all I could think was, "so am I, kid, so am I." We both agreed it's pretty fun once it gets going. There's also a little bowling area where you get five frames for a buck, and ditto to a little arcade game area as well. There's toy stores, outdoor goods, quality brands of clothes and outfitting, and really a nice answer to online shopping. In fact, it feels like malls used to feel in the 90's but a modern spin on everything. We did eat here but I'd say skip it. I didn't find anything I wanted and when I went to finish off my kids chicken tenders I was super underwhelmed and ended up pitching them. I will say at this time they carry Sylas & Maddy's ice cream (best IC in the city IMO) so that was a nice surprise treat. What more could you want if out shopping with the kids?! It's a great spot to kill a quiet afternoon.

Can't speak for the fly fishing part, and quite frankly, you'd need to get on an airplane and make probably more than one flight to get to a suitable location to engage in that as far as I'm aware. But this I can confirm: they make an exceptional cup of coffee here, particularly their house brew which uses Messenger Coffee out of Kansas City. Perfectly stout, no bitterness, exceptional finish, one of the best I've had in the city in awhile. But what really sets them apart is the friendly service from the owners, the kind that can't be faked. A few nice tables in the middle of the shop for hanging out and free wireless internet service is available. With Alchemy shuttering their doors across the street, Great Blue Heron fits the bill very nicely in this area of Mass Street. Very highly recommended.

I bought a Bushnell cellucore V20 deer camera that said it was verizon and AT&T compatible. This…read morecamera reads that the pictures are sent directly to your device. What they don't tell you is that the pictures are sent to THEIR database (Via Verizon or AT&T) and you can access your photos from ONLY their app but you HAVE to have a subscription to their service to do this. ($9.99 or $14.99 a month). You will have to check the app each time you want to see if you have any photos. If the camera could be connected to a Verizon account (as it claims, but you can't do) you pay the initial fee to activate (around $100) then it's $5 a month and the pictures are sent to your phone as soon as they are taken. Bushnell needs to make clear that THEY are the ones using Verizon and/or AT&T, not you. That makes a huge difference, and I would have gotten another Spartan camera that allows me to connect to my cell plan.
