I come here to do all my outdoor and grilling shopping. It's a very large store that is kept very well for its size. All the inventory is organized and it's easy to navigate the store. I love all the different activities they house as well including the shooting game and the larger vehicles for those who own land or want to go on the water. They also do free Christmas photos which is a real treat. I will continue to come back here for my outdoor needs. read more

Whoever said Disney World is the happiest place on earth has obviously never been to a bass pro shop. The selection here is very vast, the service here is really good my only grip is the value as I feel some things are a little overpriced and like with all fishing gear, what you get can be be hit or a miss. Even if you like window shopping, this is a fun place to just check out. And if you are a hunter, this is also a great place to check out. And even if you don't hunt or fish, they probably have something for you. It's a great place to buy lifejackets, wet suits, coolers, boats, ATVs,grills, barbecue rub and even snacks. So I heard from a friend who told me she went to Bass Pro Shop to buy her very first firearm. I was shocked that the salesman leaned her toward basically a Saturday Night Special (tiny .380) and instantly I was regretting not checking in with her so we could go see the selection together. I was in the area so I figured I'd drop by to see how things are there, and my experience was pretty nasty. My salesman - John-either super hated people, or super hated women. He was an older fellow who I witnessed basically rolling his eyes and shaking his head while on the phone with presumably a customer, which I thought was pretty whack. Anyway, I was looking at a Smith & Wesson pistol, and there was an extra weird function towards the back of the pistol-which was neither the takedown lever or the slide lock, so I asked if he knew what it was-which he didn't. I guess it's possible that they don't really talk about their products maybe, but it's typically gun people that sell guns... Anyway, as I opened the slide and released the magazine- he kept putting his hand up near the firearm even though it wasn't even remotely pointed at him or anybody else, which was odd, so I asked him why as I didn't want him to be uncomfortable- but he just made a little grunting noise instead hahaa. After looking at the .380- I asked to see the Colt Anaconda- a FABULOUS 44 mag. This dude actually made a very loud "sigh" to my request, but as I mentioned- he was obviously having a really bad day, regardless of just opening less than an hour ago lol. Regardless- we proceeded with the Anaconda, but I also wanted to be able to compare it side by side with the Ruger Redhawk-which I also asked for. He told me somewhat condescendingly (of course) that it might be available as a used firearm, which I thought was odd since Ruger still very much makes those. In all, I would totally not recommend them as a suitable place to buy a firearm, and an extra "no way" for any female in the market for one. So that whole experience was a shame. I was interacting with a female employee down in the ladies apparel, who seemed extremely eager to help me- so I guess that is deserving of the one star I am forced to give on Yelp. She even told me she was a brand new employee, and she had a great attitude, so there's that. I'm sure the firearm department has their counter monitored, so if I were management I would certainly review my experience this morning, 11/8/2025. Always a good time at Bass Pro. The nature scenery really creates a unique atmosphere. I also love how it caters to Kansas specifically. Their selection of items is unmatched and they have great service. Neil checked us out and was very helpful answering our questions. Only con of coming here is that there is always a really pushy salesperson in the back of the first floor behind the waterfall. The prices here are really good for most of their stuff. Some stuff says it's on sale but shows the same original price. It's fun to come here to even just look around. read more

Incredible sports and outdoors stores with about anything you can possibly image spread out over two floors in a very well done rustic decor. I'm not into hunting or fishing - but they carry hiking, rain gear, BBQ, camping, shoes and clothing for many needs. I love Bass Pro! It's so fun to just walk around and explore. I love when The North Face is on sale! That's my favorite. Plus you can find the funniest signs and door mats. Along with the clothing, winter gear and toys. It's a great place to take littles to see the animal part. Some stores are better than others. The one in Olathe is fine. But they do not have a restaurant anymore which is a plus when you do decide to take the little ones. The one up at Legends is good as well and it has a buffet type restaurant. My favorite store is in LiTtleton Colorado. But I will say the that the Santa Village is on point at Legends. So much room in an area away from all the main shopping area. So it all just depends on what store you go to on what your experience will be like! read more

I have normally been a big fan of Bass Pro. Recently I was at a sporting event and a fellow parent recommended that I go to bass pro and get the one they have. So I jumped online and looked to see if the item was available in store. It was available and I added it to my cart and paid. When I checked out I selected curbside pick up. When I went to pick up my item, I was told that my order had not been processed and that the item was not available in store for pick up. So that means that it's going to be shipped to their store, even though that is not what I selected. There was another parent on our team that ordered the exact same chair as me and selected the exact same curbside pick up. The customer service representative at the front counter was not helpful at all. She could not tell me whether or not they had the item in stock. So I went up and looked to see if the item was there. And guess what? There were four in stock. The most frustrating part is that I had to purchase it again. Bass Pro could not fulfill my online order in the store because the store's computer system doesn't believe the item is available. So now I have to wait until the item ships to the store and then I can cancel. How terrible is that? Why couldn't the customer service person fulfill my order? Why did I have to go and look for the item? Why couldn't the main customer service cancel my order? Needless to say this experience left me not wanting to go to bass pro ever again. read more

I know they bought Cabela's and are really trying... but the experience still is falling short. The selections are great, but prices seem to have increased and sales just aren't what they used to be. I don't like using brick and mortar stores for ideas to go online shopping, but I feel like I must or I might be paying huge prices and costing myself significant dollars I would rather be using to fund retirement or out on an adventure. The customer service counter to purchase my fishing license recently was really lacking in a kind, friendly atmosphere. The check out line experience was decent for me, as I had someone who looked like they really wanted to help me (they were faking it pretty well) but the other cashiers looked like lumps on a log with no smiles and as little interaction with the customer as possible. And seriously, how many steps are needed to get me checked out??? I don't know why the process takes so long to get you guys paid, but it's an average of three times longer once everything is totaled to get process my payment transaction and get me stepping out the door to enjoy my newly purchased toys and/or t-shirts. Went to the store to purchase several expensive items and was shocked that no employees were in face masks. I mentioned to an employee that came close to us and she mumbled something negative about us. I met with the manager to let him know we were shocked they had no face masks on and that they were putting us at risk by not doing so. He was polite but very ignorant. He said he did his own research and feels it will not make a difference if they wear masks. He works at Bass Pro he is not a scientist. What a stupid response and basically told me to go shop elsewhere which I will do. Corporate needs to wake up and do what is best for their customers not allowing an ignorant store manager to surf the internet for his research and decision making. read more

I've visited this location a handful of times since it's opened. I'm been in checking out the great selection of firearms as well as the huge selection of work/outdoor wear. I promise I try to not be overly sensitive to the "you-ain't-from-around-here" stare but let the record show the first time I ever got actual service was when I brought my brother-in-law with me. Maybe he looks more like one of their usual customers. Anyhoo, I believed their prices to be fair, although my bro-in-law says otherwise, but we both agree on the selection. The customer service is sometimsey. Sometimes it's wonderful - the ticket elves for Santa, the gun salesman (AFTER I had my handsome cornfed 6ft 4' blue eyed bro-in-law there to escort me), the customer service counter support. Sometimes it's NOT so wonderful - the picture elves, who were so big on personality and "happy" to print our pictures; the gun salesman when I am sans escort; the checkout guy when I asked for a gift box (at Xmas time, when they should be offered proactively); the manager that helped me return ammunition after the salesman recommended the wrong caliber, who "kindly" pointed out that they would be taking a loss on the entire box of cartridges because they could resell them. The store is a sportsman's dream! What I find disturbing is the pink camouflage negligees and the junior zombie target practice sets. He is sharp--and he is NOT a pushy salesperson. They don't work on commissions! But talk about service--he's one of the best I've met. Because of his excellent service, I very highly suggest to go ask for GEORGE and compare what they have with another company. also, ask George what the differences are between the 2 brands, which is better and why? what does he suggest? We dont have these in Cleveland but I love it love it love it. A ton of helpful employees, lots of parking and super prices. I wear Xl tall and I was in heaven here. I tried on two pair of Ariat boots and the salesperson was so polite and patient with me and my first pair of "cowboy" boots. (Don't laugh I rock them!). Oh did I mention it was black Friday too? Still super helpful. Ammo was in short supply (thanks Obama.) But I got a nice handgun safe for $39 too.. I love Bass Pro. It is fishing and hunting gear all in one spot. Fishing and most clothing is on the 1st level and hunting gear is on the 2nd level. They have items for both men and women. The associates I have dealt with have all been very helpful and attentive. They don't mind showing 5 different kinds of boots. Yes I wanted to try them all on and walk around to see which felt best and the associate didn't mind at all. The counter help is great, now on sale days it can be slow and they have a number system. You just have to be patient and you can wander around until they call your number. They have a section on the 1st floor that is miscellaneous type stuff like outdoor themed toys, cooking stuff, season gifts etc. It can be fun to look and see what is new in this area. They carry some of my favorite fishing brands like Zebco, Gamakatsu, Koppers and Yakima which all can be hard to find in this area. If you need camping gear they have that too. I have never been able to go in and leave empty handed. read more

I didn't think about it until people started staring at me, but don't wear a "Free Hugs" sweatshirt when visiting Bass Pro! Flannel or camouflage will help you blend in and not look like a hippie love child. If you are into anything outdoors this is the place to go. Hunting, fishing, really warm and durable clothing, boats, terrain vehicles, etc. I may have to spend more time here after trying the trout at last months secret supper! For the ladies, this is where you can get pepper spray! I often here people ask where to find it and this is one of the few places that sales it. The location is kind of a pain to get into if you are coming west on 119th. You have to take a left, another left and go through a couple of round-a-bouts. Easier then the restaurants and stores in the same area, but still poorly designed by the city and if this area grows it will be a huge nightmare. read more

This is smaller than cabella's, which I like because it's easier to get around. It's more of a fishing supply than hunting store, but they still have a good selection. I recently got some new hunting boots and the woman who helped me was very nice and even recommended the pair that I bought which were on clearance. Dag gummit, if you can't find something to suit your outdoor needs at Bass Pro, you aren't trying hard enough. Like the other KC locations, this Olathe shop is massive. Modeled after the original Bass Pro in Springfield, MO, this place offers its customers everything they could want and more. Need a camouflage hat? Yep. Cinnamon gummy bears? Yessir. AR-15 assault rifle? All day. If nothing else, it's worth the trip out here to check out all the cool stuff they have. Prices are very reasonable, but quality is sometimes lacking. You're going to get what you paid for when you buy a three dollar mesh trucker cap with a small mouth bass on it. I'll gladly pick BP over other sporting goods stores when I need something in a pinch. Their selection and price point usually put other retailers to shame. Employees are friendly and willing to help with questions and advice. It's not every day I get over here to shop, but when it's needed (and you'll know when it's needed), be confident when you stride into Bass Pro that you'll find any sporting good you need and more. read more

Great customer service at this location! I purchased a product at a different location and had an issue with it. Most of us don't travel with receipts, and I found myself in a situation I'm not usually in and needed to get the item replaced ASAP. These guys took it upon themselves to go through my transaction history (which is ridiculously large, according to my wife) and based on dollar amounts figure out when I purchased it. They got me taken care of, recommended a replacement, and sent me on my way very happy. The Customer Service employee, his supervisor, whose names I failed to get, and Troy in the fishing department were all OUTSTANDING. The young man who spooled the replacement reel was a great help also. I hope they still do "Star Cards" and everyone involved gets one. Great Job, guys. read more

I just love this place. I enjoy the out doors and this is the place that offers everything you can imagine. The atmosphere of Bass Pro makes me really want to do more out doors. I have found great gifts here as well. Need a gift for anyone, you should be able to find something here. I have bought many different items from here and never had any issues. Great quality and great prices. My son really enjoys the animals and fish. We always have to check them out, but it's always worth it. I think it's great the have a small shooting range upstairs for anyone to play. It just cost .50 cents. It sure makes my boy happy. What I really enjoy the most is what they do for Christmas. The set up toys that the kids can try out, a mini craft for the kids to make and a small ride. We also have our Santa pictures done here. It's really near that it's the same Santa every year. They definitely do an amazing job decorating. Pictures always turn out great. You get a free photo plus if you want to purchase more its am option. I highly recommend this store even if you just want to look around but I guarantee you will find something that you will like. Try the treats :) read more

Love coming here for all the taxidermy. My kids like it as well. I will say it is a little hard to get some help here every now and again. Do not go here to get pictures with Santa! We came in the early evening and were turned away (along with countless other families) because we didn't come early enough to get a pass to see Santa instead of just letting everyone wait in line to see him.
