I've never had a bad experience at Frontier Justice, from the interactions with range staff to the sales people in their retail section have all been great. When I recently rented a rifle and had lots of questions the range officer was super helpful and friendly. I don't look like a tacti-cool bro but I've always gotten my basic questions answered and been very happy. I bought my first handgun here and they made the process a lot less intimidating, which was really great. I can't help it- I love guns. I was raised in the South and hunting was a big part of my growing up. I don't hunt anymore but I still like to shoot. At a friend's suggestion, I went to Frontier Justice to target practice. I had heard about this place and you can't miss seeing it on Highway 435 North. Before you shoot, you take a quick video lesson and you have to sign some forms (all the legal stuff). Then you pay for your range time and off you go. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were vested in seeing you had your questions answered and that you enjoyed your recreation. The shooting lanes were very spacious and clean. They had the latest digital gadgets so you could pick your distance and see how you did. It was easy to move the targets where you wanted. The other shooters in the lanes close to me were polite and helpful, too. Everyone just seemed to be having a good time. There was a staff member who kept the floor cleaned from spent shells and that was a nice touch. It is difficult to keep stepping over spent shells. The shooting lanes are separated from the store by a large glass window. There are people who were watching us shoot and that does not bother me but it might unnerve some shooters. Additionally, I was not made to feel awkward or out of place being a female. I was welcomed the same as my male counterpart. I appreciated the inclusion and not being treated differently. There were some technical issues my friend had with his gun. There was a bad jam and he immediately got help from staff. There was no waiting and wondering if assistance would be available. I was impressed with the efficiency of the personnel. In addition to the range, they sell guns, clothing, jewelry and other items. They had a wide assortment of firearms and firearm supplies for sale. I will say that this place is a bit pricey but they have a captive audience, for sure. The clothing and jewelry were expensive but in line with the high quality of the items. There is a snack bar which I did not use but it is self serve. Nice touch. The bathrooms and facilities were spacious and clean. Parking was plentiful, too. I was impressed with this shooting range. Very nice and helpful personnel, clean and spacious. I've gone to so many firearm stores and this one was disappointing, I don't look like your typical A2 guy so I guess I'm not acknowledged. Staff can care less if they don't know you even though you ask for help right in front of them, prices are ok and I felt like I was being watched just looking at some items. If the phone rings and I'm already asking for help at least let me know "one minute" before you answer the phone and spend 10 min on it, the other guys are gonna go ahead and walk to the back I guess, maybe I'll give this place another shot one day. read more

The store is good for shopping. But the membership is a waste if you want range time .Usually slots are unavailable through schedule online and website is way slow. They charge 30 dollars to use FFLs where you can usually shop around for one for 15-20 dollars. read more

As always I had a great time at FJ. My problem is I never have enough money to buy the things I would like to have. It seems that is always the case. They always get the latest guns that come out on the market. They just about have everything you might need. The range and the staff are great. The store staff are great as well. " Build it and they will come" FJ did just that. Every time I go they have new things. Look if you go and you don't go away with a smile on your face then you were in the movie Grumpy Old Men. Nice facility. Granted they are a bit pricey. I've looked at several guns here, but ultimately purchased from other stores. Their employees answering the phones should be trained to find a knowledgeable employee to answer specific questions rather than just tell someone what they want to hear. I've made the trip to this store twice only to find the individual who answered the phone was incorrect and the items I requested were not in stock, nor do they carry said items. The range is very clean, nice and I've never had an issue with any of the rangemasters, they're not cuddly teddy bears, but are knowledgeable and will keep you safe which in my opinion is paramount. All in all a good experience, although they do not seem to be able to compete with prices/discounts given at other stores and aren't the most reliable when questioned on products. Wow! Amazing! Not your typical gun shop. Well lit, nice gun shop with everything you'd expect and more. Want shooting apparel, they got it. Want cases, yep. Wide selection of firearms and a super helpful staff. Nice bathrooms, and even a coffee stand. My wife and I went this weekend to try out some 22lr pistols (she never shot before and I suggested we try a variety since they all feel different). Chris at the rental counter was patient, friendly, and super helpful. He helped guide us through the large selection of rentals for their range (for a nominal fee you can try out various firearms in their state of the art firing range). When it comes to purchases, Steve has been amazing. He's patient and knowledgeable. Really appreciate his patience and help to get setup just right. Everyone is friendly and happy to help. What a great place to shop, and to shoot in their indoor range (anything from 22lr right up past 5.56). Definitely check them out! read more

Pretty nice place but the Disney World of gun shops, very expensive. The store is very well-stocked but the guns are extremely high-priced, everyone is super nice. Went with my family for my brothers birthday. We rented 3 lanes and spent quite a bit of money here and we were hopeful that it would be worth it. The facility was nice and the men at the front desk were very helpful! Unfortunately, as soon as we went back in the range things did not go well. There was an older gentleman working the range and he made us all feel horrible about ourselves. My parents both are CCW holders and were previous gun safety instructors but for the rest of us we were just beginners and learning. He acted like he was disgusted in us and made multiple snippy comments while we were there. I thought it was just us until I heard him tell they lady next to us he would get her a new cardboard as long she didn't just shoot it off again. The lady then told us that that man was there last time they were there and is always very rude. What started as a great experience, ended with us all leaving feeling upset and embarrassed. We felt that we weren't welcome them because we weren't "experts" when we were there to practice and learn. We will not be back to Frontier Justice and will instead be finding someplace more welcoming to beginners. If you do go, I suggest not going to the Kansas City, KS location and instead visit Lees Summit. Again, other than that one employee it would've been a much better experience. Absolutely the best place to go for indoor shooting. The Range Officers are outstanding and always willing to assist. The lanes are spacious and the equipment is excellent. The only thing I would improve on is the lighting in the stall itself. It is a bit dark and hard to see you firearm should you have an issue such as a jam or other malfunction. read more

Went with some friends (some brand new to shooting, some experienced) and had a great time. The check-in process was smooth and simple. They were great at explaining their procedures and rules to everyone and before we knew it we were on our lanes. The range officer was great at offering tips to the new shooters (even got a stand to show them step-by-step) and made sure that we were as safe as possible. Range rates are reasonable given how nice the facility is. Prices on firearms and accessories are high, yes, but we came to utilize the range. Will be returning. read more

After waiting in line for twenty-five minutes, we were told we would not be able to shoot a fully automatic weapon today (the whole reason we came here) because someone else was. To only have one person a shift who can handle a full auto request is ridiculous. Normally shop at the Lees Summit store, but I was in the area so I thought I would drop in. Nice looking store, were a lot of people there and the range looked pretty busy (it was a Saturday afternoon). I was just looking at what they had when I was approached by a young man. I explained to him that the only thing I was currently looking for was an IWB Holster for my P30 and had been unable to find one in store. He was very knowledgeable, asked me a couple of questions then took me to the holster selection and pulled one off the wall. They had a P30 in a cabinet and we checked the fit and it worked great. Didn't plan on purchasing a holster, but thanks to your clerk I found the holster I wanted and it's been great. Great Job! read more

This place is price gouging. Belt with attached price (factory tag stitched in) $59.99 rang up and card machine showed $84. I pointed out the sticker price. The cashier reaffirmed that the item rings up as $84. Didnt bother asking for mgr. just because you have a nice store doesnt mean you can gouge your customer! Today is my husband's 60th birthday. I plan to buy him a firearm. This is a guaranteed purchase. We will be buying a gun today. Went to a few different stores. Then went Frontier Justice. When we first walked in we were greeted warmly by staff. However, when we found the pistol he wanted. My husband went to the counter to ask to see it. We were pretty sure this was the ONE and would have bought it. However, The two employees behind the counter were more interested in their personal conversation than a sale. My husband waited patiently. One of the employees looked him straight in the eye but didn't acknowledge him. We waited a few seconds as they kept talking. We of course walked out at this point. I recently visited this store for the first time in 3 months (it's quite a drive for me). Everyone in the store was so helpful!! I was shopping for something specific which they didn't have in stock but they were willing to order it for me. They answered all my questions accurately without having (even the few questions I throw out to see if the store employees know what they're talking about) to look it up so they were very very very knowledgeable about the products they have. read more
