First you have to sign the waiver. Head over to the counter and rent a lane. Provide your ID. Get setup with safety glasses (unless you wear glasses), ear muffs, your own weapon & ammunition and pick your target. We were set. We received some assistance from a safety assistant and had a pretty good practice session. Frontier has plenty of supplies, clothing for sale, refreshments and very helpful personnel.

They never made me feel judged, talked down to, or like I was being a bother. Instead, they were patient, respectful, and took the time to answer everything. I really appreciated that. As for cost, I don't have much to compare it to, but it didn't seem bad, about $20 to rent a lane and $15 to rent a caliber, which lets you try any firearm of that caliber. I ended up trying 3-4 different ones, which was a great experience.

I found a Glock 21 Gen 4 in the display case marked at $899.00. Before visiting, I had checked their website and saw the same firearm listed for $599.00. I asked the salesperson about the price difference. He checked with the manager and returned a few minutes later stating they would honor the website price. However, because they do not process firearm transfers within an hour of closing, he asked me to return Monday. I agreed. On Monday, I left work and drove straight to the store, arriving at approximately 4:03 PM. I did my best to arrive before their transfer cutoff but was unable to make it in time. I apologized for arriving late, explained I was there to complete the purchase, and the salesperson took my ID and handed me the paperwork. I was halfway through filling it out when the owner approached. The owner told me the website had not been updated and that he had sold the same model on GunBroker for $750.00. He then told me he would not honor the $599.00 website price, despite the fact that I had already been told on Saturday that they would. The website not being updated was an internal issue with Simmons, not the customer's responsibility. I relied on the advertised price and, more importantly, on the commitment made by their employee after confirming it with management. If they had no intention of honoring the price, they should have said so on Saturday instead of asking me to return Monday. I made a second trip, spent my time and fuel, and had already started the paperwork before they changed their position. This was not just a pricing error--it was a broken promise and poor customer service. Based on this experience, I will not do business with Simmons again, and I cannot recommend them to anyone expecting a business to honor the commitments it makes to its customers.

I knew he was going out of town to pick up his new car, so I wasn't going to hold him to it. Thursday afternoon he calls and says I can pick it up tomorrow. I was excited, and rightfully so, it functions perfectly! While I was picking it up, a young man came in with an old black powder barrel and needed the primer that had been there forever removed. He worked on it for 10 minutes and then didn't charge him. I'll be taking all of my vintage stuff to him, as needed. Craftsmen like this are getting harder to find all of the time.

Another local and well known gunsmith (Olathe) worked on another issue with this same shotgun (a broken firing pin) and I did not see the gun for 6 months at 4 times the cost of Mike. I had all the dems so the smith only had to copy them to produce a new pin. Needless to say I am very happy with Mike's work and I recommend him to any of my friends that need gun work.

Would give a higher rating however due to one employee (Very heavy set older gentleman with glasses) selling my family member a used Glock 43X but claiming it "new" along with its many problems we have had since owning it is what lowered the rating for me. Every time I am in the store both the employees and customers are fixing this gentleman's mistakes or lack of knowledge. Besides this, very great business I highly recommend.
