I knew he was going out of town to pick up his new car, so I wasn't going to hold him to it. Thursday afternoon he calls and says I can pick it up tomorrow. I was excited, and rightfully so, it functions perfectly! While I was picking it up, a young man came in with an old black powder barrel and needed the primer that had been there forever removed. He worked on it for 10 minutes and then didn't charge him. I'll be taking all of my vintage stuff to him, as needed. Craftsmen like this are getting harder to find all of the time.

Another local and well known gunsmith (Olathe) worked on another issue with this same shotgun (a broken firing pin) and I did not see the gun for 6 months at 4 times the cost of Mike. I had all the dems so the smith only had to copy them to produce a new pin. Needless to say I am very happy with Mike's work and I recommend him to any of my friends that need gun work.

And the staff, they were kind of helpful. It was busy,I'm thinking a CCW class must've been going on. Then it came time to try a used Smith and Wesson, and they allowed us a few shots on the range. The range is indoors. It is rather loud even with hearing protection. I had trouble with the firing, after 2, I started to have trouble with the gun itself. The staff were really great, and the problem was possibly me, trying to use it. They have plenty to rent, not many when they are crowded. I would love to go on a day without a crowd, and try out different models, even if I had to pay for range times. I really want to become good at this, without jitters. I did happen to notice the picture of Obama, with a quote about taking our guns. Nah...not gonna happen. So the shop is okay, great place, if you can over come the politics.

First you have to sign the waiver. Head over to the counter and rent a lane. Provide your ID. Get setup with safety glasses (unless you wear glasses), ear muffs, your own weapon & ammunition and pick your target. We were set. We received some assistance from a safety assistant and had a pretty good practice session. Frontier has plenty of supplies, clothing for sale, refreshments and very helpful personnel.

After…read morereading others reviews on yelp, more than one person made a comment on the staff being rude or management being knowledgeable. That may have been the case at one point, but as of now (5/30/2017) this is simply not the case. The employees that work here are knowledgeable and friendly. As a result, this sets up a nice environment to shoot some guns or just simply browse their inventory. I couldn't count the amount of times I walked in just to look at a gun to get a hands on and feel for it, just to walk out. I'm comfortable doing this because the staff doesn't try shoving anything down my throat. The staff here is top notch and couldn't get any better. The facility is one of the best around. It's clean, organized, and has a very good "flow". The actual shooting range, is incredibly nice. Their inventory on guns is very strong. I'm starting to run out of steam...but overall, I highly recommend this place! I do have one recommendation for the management. If you read this, you should look into being a vendor at the local gun shows. They happen pretty regularly and I'm sure that would be a great way to get your name out and to broaden your customer base!

Where my guest and I stood. Upon contacting the owner Jim he said I was a liar and he would be "looking into my assets" . This business is a danger to me and my guest and I will never go there again. It's also a rundown dump, with rude staff and an inability to comply with federal law. They can't sell firearms due to missing handguns. Go at your own risk, they don't even have a range officer present!
