Nothing to complain about! The only reason I'm taking off a star is because some of the cases I looked through were FILTHY. One looked like it had some kind of vomit or excrement on it. That's not an exaggeration. I believe that if you're going to be selling a product, you need to make sure the product isn't absolutely disgusting before putting it on the shelf. 4 stars, though. I have been buying DVD's and Blu-ray movies from pawn shops for years and that is still one of the things I like to pickup here. DVD movies are $2 no matter what they are so it's nice to catch a Disney movie or some rare DVD in stock from time to time. Laptops and electronics are reasonable and they will deal with you on price if you want to buy something that has sat on the shelf more than 30 days. I picked up a nice 20" LCD monitor for $39 that retails for $119 after I asked for a better price than the $49 they had it marked. I have bought small window AC units for my rental homes for a good price, the store is clean and organized but usually busy. The latest thing is taking a 'ticket' when you come in to buy or sell anything which is a little annoying. Last time I was there it took 10 minutes to get checked out after I found my movies. There are some decent deals on anything from tools to electronics or even kids sporting equipment. This location does not sell guns or firearms.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in but I became a fan pretty quick. I was greeted by a friendly employee who right away put me at easy. I walked around the store and even though it doesn't seem as "Hollywood" as the TV places there was lots of good stuff here. I met the owner and he was super helpful I asked him how it worked and he gave me the ins and outs. No big secrets its like a garage sale in a store and when you find something you like you can make an offer to purchase. Also if you have items to sell they both buy and pawn. I didn't get into all the pawn rules because that's not why I was there but they do that. The store is on Troost and it has some off street parking on the south side and there is street parking all around. The store is clean and the employees are helpful. Small warning at least one of the employees I saw was carrying a handgun. I asked about this and they are certified and it is for protection. I am a firm believer that it is probably a visual deterrent and I understand that. Stop in and say Hi to Jim and the guys and make him an offer on something. I will be back.

I didn't feel like arguing over $10 and left without complaining. I went back the next day. The young tattooed assistant was very efficient and offered me the appropriate amount and she sealed the deal with no problems. I visited two other pawn shops in the area and found Smart pawn to be the right one for my needs. The other two shops gave me misinformation and showed a lack of interest.
