And if that child is wearing something adorable, so much the better! I am so glad that there is a store like The a Little House here in Kansas City, nestled in the Fairway shops. The store is small--it only keeps one outfit in each size--but the staff is attentive and kind. There are toys in the back to amuse little ones who might accompany Mama on a shopping outing. (For other mothers-of-multiples out there, they were more than happy to order a second set of all of my purchases and call me when they arrive.) My girls happily trotted around the store with toy perambulators while their grandmother and I merrily browsed the Florence Eiseman holiday apparel. The prices are expensive, but so is the state of affairs when considering high end children's clothing. The staff is top notch, both friendly and efficient, and very indulgent of my two toddlers as they had a fantastic time playing in the store. The space is great, with enough room to browse the merchandise but not so big to be overwhelming; it is intimate but not at all crowded. I highly recommend The Little House for parents of small children wanting to purchase a nice outfit for holidays or special occasions (which might include going out to lunch or dinner at a restaurant when you are counting on your child's cuteness excusing the mess of dropped food that goes hand-in-hand with toddler dining). Yes, I usually opt for OshKosh B'Gosh overalls for my twins's daily attire, but the children's clothing at The Little House is too cute to resist entirely.

I tried couple of the items. The fitting room area was well maintained. There were multiple staff members at the store who were assisting customers and also tidying up the store. I'm beginning to think if people in Kansas lack any customer service here. No greeting upon entering. The 2 workers just ignored us for the most part. I feel like they make it feel like as if you are an inconvience to them when you do need their help. I wanted one of their sale sandals and could not find the box to the display. It was a super cute brown one that I thought would be perfect for my beach vacation this weekend. I couldn't purchase it as they couldn't locate the other sandal anywhere. Why have it displayed if you dont have it? They looked online and couldn't find it and said it was available in black did I want it? Well no and ordering it wont get it to me today. It's just interesting to display something without the matching other sandal to complete it. Just go for awesome sales but dont expect any great customer service.
