I took my bike in for a spring tuneup this year. The staff at the Bicycle Shack was very helpful. Jason and his crew did a great job tuning up my bike and getting it ready for the summer months and the riding I will be doing. I have a Veego E bike and they took care of it in a spectacular fashion. Everything is as good as new. I look forward to visiting them whenever I need help. If my wife decides she wants a bike we will go there to buy it. they have a great selection of used bikes read more

Jason and his wife have an exceptional bike shop. They're extremely knowledgeable, fair and very accommodating. I can't recommend them enough! - recently when we were saying in the RV camp nearby and needed quick service, they were extremely helpful. I've been there twice now and I would go back in a heartbeat. read more

We live in the area and my kids continue to visit you guys. For air in their tires and today a piece for my littles bike. I am so incredibly grateful as a single mom to have you guys be of assistance to something I know nothing about. Thank you so much for all that you do! read more

I would give these folks 10 stars if I could. I rented a bicycle for the Katy Trail and Jason provided the nicest bike! The quality was exceptional, I loved it and it was perfect for the trail. Jason is so kind and friendly. some bike shop jocks tend to talk down to older women like myself , but it is certainly not the case at the bike shack! I would recommend this place to everyone! read more

This is what a bike shop should be all about. They're knowledgeable, have a great service team and will talk bikes with you all day. It's what's missing at corporate bike shops and it's the reason I'll always shop with Jason and his team. read more

What a pleasure it was doing business with Jason and Jodi Starforth, owners of The Bicycle Shack. Honest, knowledgeable people that are celebrating 44 years in business in the Kansas City Metro. Jason's patience in helping me in landing on the right bike was remarkable and he was a well of knowledge to draw from to say the least. I've done business with them for the last 35 years or so, mainly when Jason's father owned the shop, and they've ALWAYS been fair and attentive with me and above all else, just very honest. I was really proud to get to purchase a 2025 Marin Pine Mountain 2 bike-packing mountain bike from them. It's just perfect for my needs! I've never been on a better fitting, component dressed bike as well as this one and they were very fair in their dealings with me. I couldn't recommend them enough! They and their staff are just good people to deal with and I highly recommend The Bicycle Shack and their Marin line of bicycles! Many thanks! read more

Best bike shopping experience period! I'm a very cautious/thorough shopper (she would say indecisive and picky! ). But I want find not only a good deal, but I want a good experience. Went to several bike shops, some close by and some further away. I cannot thank Jason and team enough for their attentiveness and passion in helping us find a couple of hybrid's. We are in love with our Marin's! Perfect for tooling about Boulder while on vacation and on RIT! Not only did they take the time to listen to us, they answered our novice questions, helped get us into the right bike, the right size and at the right price point. Oh and Jason even helped me put on the bike rack!! I honestly could go on and on gushing about the service but I think they're going to cut me off soon! Just want to thank the "J's", Jason, Jody and John for everything! read more

A great experience for myself using this bike shop for a week rental. The staff were extremely friendly and offered me advice on local rides, as well as checking to see if I had everything I needed for a ride. I visited this shop after renting the previous week in Chicago and the bike I rented here was higher quality, at half the price. Thanks again to staff for an easy, wonderful experience. read more

Sorry for the delay, but wow! Five stars all around. I visited 4 different bike shops and came back here due to customer service! Beyond words helpful. Great variety of bikes. Purchased a nice used bike, upgrade for my son, and purchased a new bike for me. Thinking about upgrading since I have been enjoying being back out in the open. Would recommend coming here for your bike needs. read more

Best bike shop ever!!! Been dealing with them for 6 years. Just bought second bike and received very professional and personal care as always. Looking forward to many years to come. read more

I am thoroughly impressed time and time again with the Bicycle Shack. Everyone I've encountered who works at TBS is very friendly, helpful, NOT pushy, and knowledgeable. I'm a complete newb at cycling, but they've taught me how to change a flat, prepared me (successfully) for my first race, and have invited me on their group rides. The dudes who work at The Bicycle Shack are truly great guys who know their stuff. I've been to several other shops in the area, but this place has won me over. I recommend them to anyone, from beginner to advanced. My favorite part about this shop is they do not make me feel stupid or forced into buying anything. I feel like they give honest recommendations and suggestions, without making me feel like I am forced to make any sure and fast decisions. One final note is they are always busy, so be sure to set aside a bit of time for your visit. Each technician and salesperson is super helpful. This is my favorite bike shop in KC! read more

Small place with tons of stuff. Friendly folks working among the hoards of stuff. Did I mention the stuff? Oh.. I did! I would go back, which is more than I can say about some other bike shops in the area! read more

Everyone is AMAZING! Superb & very knowledgeable staff, exemplary unmatched customer service EVERY time. I wish I could give more stars!!! Visited today & they fixed the brakes on my mother's wheelchair! read more

My Fuji Absolute was misbehaving after our move. Just when I was heading out to rise for my favorite cause, Obliteride, chain was jumping off and could keep her in gear. Limped home and called Bicycle Shack. Zack said 'bring it by and we'll see what we can do'. All I could hear is the clock ticking...those miles are not going to ride themselves. Josh called the next day--a new cable at a very reasonable price, plus she was ready. Took her out for a quick ride whan I got home--she rides like butter! Good bye, poltergeist shifting. Wheeeeee! They delivered and surpassed my expectations. Excellent service. So excited to hit the road again. Rolling! Thanks, Bicycle Shack. I am your newest fan. read more

Quite simply, The Bicycle Shack is my gold standard that I compare ANY bicycle shop against nationwide. And it all comes down to SERVICE! It's not a big shop, but what they lack in square footage is made up by a very knowledgeable staff. Yes they have new bikes, and they're good at helping you pick one out. Bike racks? Yep, they know them well and will tell you what works. Tubes? Supplies? Chemicals? Yep, got 'em and at competitive prices too. The best part of TBS for me is in the back, in the shop. You take a bike to them and you can count on it being fixed right the first time. They've suggested upgrades that have made my bikes better. And even when I've mangled things up they've been able to fix it and get me back on the trail fairly quickly. And all of this is done without the snotty, holier than thou attitude you'll find at other places. While I have moved to Las Vegas, KC is still home, and I still have 2 bikes in KC for my use when I get to go home. And there's only one place I will take them to be serviced. The Bicycle Shack is it. 5 Stars: Earned due to years of consistently stellar service and support. This place doesn't rest on their laurels either, they keep getting better and better. read more

The customer service is excellent! I am thoroughly impressed every time I visit this LBS. They are often busy working away on bikes in service, which just shows how much of a go-to shop they are for many people. Most important to me, they will not only do the work for you, but they are also supportive of you doing your own work on your bike project and will sell you parts and give bits of guidance along the way. THAT is what I love best about this bike shop! read more

Awhile back, I needed a road bike for a long distance ride that was quickly around the corner. This place was like the ONLY shop in the KC area that provided that and even gave me a discount for the length of the rental. The Fuji bike was in great condition and lasted the wear/tear of the journey and because of that, I'm always eyeing one for myself. The guys are helpful, cool, and nowadays I've pop by the place to ask whatever question. read more

Love this place!!! Got my awesome bike here after finally giving up the search on a new bike, everything being cheaply made and over priced. Went in looking for a used bike and they really hooked me up. They have a knowledgable staff that will go out of their way to make sure you get what you want and need! read more

Really great shop. Very friendly and helpful staff. I rented a Fuji road bike for a long weekend. The bike was nearly new and tuned perfectly. Thanks guys. I'll be back. read more

Jason is great to work with. Long time KC bike community shop that has a family-friendly atmosphere and great product selection as well.

Very helpful and friendly. I need a tire fixed and asked if I should come back later to pick it up. They said I could but I would be wasting my time. As it only took 5 minutes. I will come back when I need anything bike related in the future due to their customer service. PS the tire was on my wife's walking stroller, not everywhere will fix those. read more

I had a great experience at the Bike Shack yesterday. My son's 24 inch Diamondback bike had a busted steering tube. I first took the bike to two other shops, who both said they couldn't fix it. The owner of the shop looked at the bike and figured out what was wrong with it. Twenty dollars later my kid's bike is completely fixed! Amazing!!! I will definitely buy my next bike from these guys! read more

They might be good at fixing mountain bikes (not sure), but they definitely don't know how to fix flatland BMX bikes. They are nice and reasonably priced, but you'd be better off fixing it yourself if you ride BMX. I'll give them 3 stars for being nice and reasonable, but 2.5 stars is more appropriate. read more

Great staff who took over an hour talking to me about my biking goals and what style of bike would fit me best. Amazing customer service. They ordered a bike for me and couldn't have been more helpful. Can't wait to receive my bike. Thank you guys! I will be back for all my biking needs read more

The staff here is top notch. I've sent many friends here and nobody has been disappointed. They can also get you hooked up with local group rides. Highly recommended in my book. read more
