One of the best in Boston. Don't trust the reviews go experience it yourself. Two floors. Fast service. One of the only clubs that brings in DJs to DANCE to. Obviously if you're drunk and you leave your credit card somewhere at a crowded bar it's risky. But the reviews I've read all blame the club. Makes no sense. Boston nightlife is top notch and I always recommend Bijou. There's a reason they've been successful for almost 15 years. read more

FRAUD Bottle girl overcharged our table and she bumped up her tip beyond requested. Then manager mocked me when I complained and had no intention to resolve the issue. *Shown in pictures. Paid over 40 dollars to enter an empty club an hour or two before close. soon after getting our second drink security guards harassed my group and i about having them on the floor. he ordered us to go to the bar after already being on the floor with drinks for over a half hour. they continued to shout and flash their lights in our eyes. Do you want me to stay away from you while we're in this club, or stand right Bijou? That's the question. Bijou is an excellent nightclub that should have a better rating. The bouncers are jokers that are in love with the hot girls that come in here, but they're also good at protecting them, to some degree. Walking around Boston when clubs are nearly closing is not as visually spectacular and sexy as Chicago and New York City, nor is it as wild and show-offy as Austin and Houston, nor is it as glamorous as Los Angeles, but what it does have going for it is that it is one of the most wild and intense nightlife areas, which seems to create a fight almost every night that people are out. You will see the cops and there will be big Irish guys and then you will see a bunch of other big Irish and Italian guys (like me) ripping off their shirts and trying to beat the crap out of each other and that is basically any given night in Boston Massachusetts. It's just that it's so f***ing cold here that it makes it difficult to show off properly and I don't know how so many of the girls do it because even I find it hard except for certain months of the year. Last night my friends and I went to Bijou for the first time. While getting checked by security they noticed mace in my purse. All the bouncer says to me is "No". I said okay if you take it can I get it back on my way out. And he say no, once they take it it's gone. I say okay asked for my mace back and I said I wouldn't be going in. After stepping out of line, my friend asked me if I wanted to run to her apartment nearby and drop the mace off and then come back. The other bouncer then interrupted and said "No, she's done for the night". At no point was I rude or disrespectful, I simply wasn't willing to give up something that makes me feel safer when walking at night. It's bad enough that they try to confiscate something that is essential for women's safety when being out at night but then to say that because I chose to step out of line and not go in that I wasn't allowed in again. I've lived in Boston for 5 years and I have never ever been treated this way and seen such blatant disregard for women's safety. I noticed I lost my wallet after entering the establishment and I saw that my card was immediately charged. While looking for my wallet on the adjacent streets, a man said he found what was stolen and returned only my ID and insurance. I lost over 200 dollars in cash. I don't know what happened, but I tried to file a police report over the phone but they wouldn't let me. It's not worth it for me to go to the station so please take this as a warning. read more

My friend lost her phone and the bouncers wouldn't let her go in to look for it. They were very rude and yelled at her after she asked politely and was visibly distressed. Their staff are apathetic and are not willing to help their customers. They additionally have made snarky comments towards my friends and I for asking basic questions. They don't regulate the crowd leading to dangerous behavior and I've seen several people get injured to which the staff were completely unbothered. my experience at this club was terrible. We went for a friends birthday. I was in contact with someone about a table prior to the date that we arrived. We chose two bottles from their menu and was told OK that's fine but when we arrive to the club they're saying that they do not have those bottles in stock, so then we chose the next bottles and we added a pack of waters to our tab for the table now with that being said when it came time to pay, it was going to be split between two cards. One wasn't working because it was saying fraud. i went to the manager hoping he would talk me through the process so that my card can be charge the remaining amount. he continuously yelled at me was being uncooperative customer service was terrible. but to top off this experience I was pushed by the manager himself and a bottle girl while standing at their pos system. We then tried to speak to the manager once again trying to understand how we're paying that much. we ask for an itemized receipt and telling him we're tipping in cash to the bottle girl it became a whole fiasco and now 3 to 4 days later I'm still being charged on my card and purchases are being adjusted same within the club that I'm not authorizing. If you're thinking of going to this club or dealing with any of their employees don't do it you'll be scammed and told lies then your concerns will be ignored and your calls will be ignored. read more

This club is absolutely unprofessional. It's one club but two entrances and we were never told of that disparity. When I and 20+ people entered, they never told us and so we paid our 25$ and within 2 minutes of going upstairs and realizing it's the wrong place they told us we had to go back to the other entrance and pay AGAIN no refunds. The bouncer was basically taunting us saying no refunds after we just walked in and spent absolutely no time at all. After a friend poured a lot of time into speaking with the manager he finally gave us back a refund. Extremely bad first impression of this place. Surprised to see all the bad reviews for this club! Went on Friday night with a few friends after a Lane 8 boat party and we had an amazing time. We were a little worried that they wouldn't let us in because we were all pretty casual but that wasn't a problem. Initially when we came in they were trying to charge us a $30 cover but lowered it to $10 when we told them about the boat party. I also noted that a staff member asked my friend if we knew it was a techno club. That tells me people probably go with other expectations, which could also be a reason for some of the reviews lol I loved the space inside, lots of lights and room to dance. Unfortunately I didn't get the djs' names but they were on point, we did not stop dancing all night. I found the bouncers and bartenders to be pretty nice overall. Drinks are probably a little expensive because we bought a shot and it was $15 - it was a pretty big shot though so I won't complain. I also know that my friend inquired about table pricing and they mentioned something like $375 for one bottle. To those with bad reviews and decided to give this place a shot... You all just have to know what clubbing is. $$$$ is a must when you go Clubbing, and BJIOU is my right vibe. Every time I go clubbing in BOS, I go early!! Why? 1. The entire city of BOS closes at 2:00pm 2. Clubs open at 10:00pm. ... Do the math. Arriving between 10-11pm is a must! After that, your pretty much FUrniture inside this club is convenient! Here's a little tip... Don't check in you jacket. The back rest of the coaches are for the VIP tables, but sometimes not all tables are taken. Use them wisely (further from DJ booth). Now... I went 2 nights in a row. Spent like $150 all together and had a BLAST! UMEK, JULIAN INGROSSO and METE ASLAN just great great DJs/music to dance too. STRAIGHT UP THE SCAMMIEST CLUB EVER!!!! My girl and I were visiting friends in Boston for her birthday. I'm going to save you guys the trouble of reading through all this toxicity since writing this alone is pissing me off. We got to the club on Saturday this past weekend around 11:30 and had bottle service reserved for us since it was my lady's birthday. It was a party of 9 and being a prolific Los Angeles and Vegas clubber, I knew exactly how to handle the clubbing/bottle service environment. I SPECIFICALLY told the promoter and bottle service girl, Lara, "you're only allowed to take orders from myself, my lady, and her best friend". She agreed and the night was hectic but we got thru it. (TERRIBLE REMIX OF MUSIC BTW) Towards the end of the night, people throughout the club including ours became intoxicated (shocker). And guess what happened? Two unopened bottles from two unknown orders. One was a bottle of Moët which we all witnessed at the table because some moronic random decide to invade our table and order it, and the second bottle never even made it to our table. The bottle service girl stated that she had to "hold" the bottle and would "save" it for us for another day. The bottle was opened and my girls card was blocked due to the fat transaction from the previous bottles, so I shelled up the cash since she had my ID and I needed it back. Bottom line is, they came up with an excuse for everything I asked for and the day after I tried calling multiple times and left multiple messages, and not a single call was returned. To sum it up, F*** this place and all the thirsty weirdos that crawl in and out of this location. I'll be spending my huge wad of cash elsewhere. might even have my family buy this place just to dynamite it to ashes. read more

Danced the night away! I went Friday & Saturday...great experience for my 1st time in the night life of Boston. Friday's DJ was incredible I have to say...I remember thinking how do we get this mix/dj to Miami. He didn't spin the typical house/dance music but I found it very swanky sheek! Saturday's DJs were good but typical, but did throw in a few hip-hop songs. Great venue w/great sound. Kind of amazed at the mix of the crowd...made me think that maybe money talks here. The waitresses were all wearing a mix of random black dresses they found in their closets...suggestion is they need a standard sexy upscale uniform & not the Jessica McClintock prom dress some were waiting to re-wear. Cute name, cute place...but beware trying to get yourself down the stairs at the end of the night...girls take off your heels or you will be tumbling down. read more

I'm usually 6 shots in when I walk into a club (I drink beer too), so I don't answer the bouncer's zodiac-sign questions-- I respond with something homophobic. "There are parties, and then there's Bijou" Boy did they nail it. This place will have you wishing you never went out in the first place. For a place that proves its worth by charging as much for a night out as some families support themselves on for an entire week, all that you can really expect out of Bijou is to leave with a bad hangover, ruined clothes and shoes, ringing ears and a feeling of "what have I done with my life?" Lest you think "hey this guy doesn't do clubs, he doesn't get it" I'm an avid clubgoer who has been to probably 50+ clubs in my life around the world. This place ranks bottom 5. The sound system (who many claim to be great, because it's loud) is too bass heavy, poorly balanced and not acoustically tuned. Stand in the front to watch ears bleed or in the back to wonder if you're hearing the DJ muffled through your neighbor's apartment wall. In the front, about the only thing you'll be watching is ears bleeding, because the DJ is so high up behind the Great Wall of Bijou that you'll never get a good glimpse at them. You only paid $50 to go, why would you want to see them, right? With that in mind the decor is absolute trash. I get that a club should be dark and all black but I would hate to see what this place looks like with the lights on. They recently installed some semi-cool moving light stick thing in the middle which looks like it's bound to fall apart in a couple weeks anyways, so don't get too excited. They also have some dumb neon signs if you're into that kind of thing. If you're thinking of buying a table, I hope you like those 2'x2' Lack tables from Ikea because that's about all you're gonna get. The waitresses can barely move in there with all the douchebaggery so you'll be lucky to see your bottles more than a couple times a night. If you'd prefer to skip the table, then be prepared for $16 cocktails that are far from premium, or their ONE choice of beer, which is the infamous pisswater known as Corona for $8. I also ordered a warm Red Bull can there once... also $8. I get that they book the best DJs and because I love music you will see me there anyways. But I won't be enjoying it and I long for the day Boston can see a real club. read more

Bijou is very... interesting. I love going out clubbing and although bijou has great music, it is one of the most strictest clubs I have ever been to. From the moment you set foot NEAR the club you are being watched. When you are in line, do not look drunk or too lit. They will kick you out of line just for appearing that way. Once you are kicked out they will not let you back in. Don't expect the bouncers to be chill. They obviously take their job very seriously. When inside you can't leave the building for any reason until 12:30 which is so bizarre. Yes, bijou is expensive. The cover is $30 and the average price of a drink will be $15. Try to bring an obscene amount of cash so you can avoid fraudulent behavior on your card. The "dance area" is technically nonexistent so you're expected to dance around couches. Bijou is trying to be an A-list level club and I get that. However, this is Boston. I've been to many amazing clubs all over the world that will charge a $15 cover and have $10 drinks. Is bijou worth it? ABSOLUTELY NOT. If you have a promoter that can get you the hook up, then it's a win. But if you're going out for a fun night with friends there are so many other places around the corner from bijou that you can go to. The moving tube light thing in the center of the room was cool... Some of the staff (security) inside were nice. I don't frequent "The Club" all too often so I can't give it 1 star for being a shallow vapid place that objectifies women: The servers and bar tenders were all women. They were all wearing incredibly little clothing. This seemed to be the uniform. The uniform of the male security team was nice: Black suits. But one of them literally pushed me out of his way as he was walking by. Not because there was anything urgent happening. He just wanted to slowly walk where I happened to be standing. This happened one or two more times in a less sever way. My debit card either got stolen out of my pocket or phone case, somewhere between showing my ID at the door and going to pay for my drinks ($14 no matter what. No well drinks. Not worth it in my opinion.). I went to check my car for the card and on the way out the doorman who had already told us in a rude way to where to smoke, told us he wouldn't let us back in past 1:45am. When we got back at 1:41, he almost didn't let us in, looked at us like we were stupid, and said "I really shouldn't let you back in" and not in a friendly joking kind of way. Once we made it back in, my partner was waiting outside the restroom for me. A bouncer came up to her and informed her that the spot she was standing in was actually for a taller girl who was wearing heels and more makeup. My partner turned to that girl and asked if she was in fact standing in her spot. The other girl said "No. I don't know what that bouncer is talking about". But the bouncer insisted until both girls walked away from the totally inconsequential spot off to the side of the bar. *Shrugs* We only went for the LCD Soundsystem afterparty. Bijou ended up being the after move to celebrate the engagement of some friends earlier that day. This place is quite quaint. Lots of colorful lighting and strobe lights which makes the whole place GLOW. I can't see being here and not having a section. The standing space is in awkward places that basically have you in the faces of the people in the sections. If you're in a section, the backs of the booths raises to offer storage bins for purses, jackets, and any belongings you don't feel like holding all night. I REALLY liked that. Fortunately enough for us, we got a section to celebrate that engagement. Two bottles (Hennessy and Ciroc) was roughly $960 with 20% gratuity. I don't drink so I only put in a bit to cover my part in the section. The waitresses are all attractive for the most part. Our waitress did something that we're not used to in the South. Once the waitress would pour everyone a drink, she'd take the remainder of the bottle with her. She'd then come back after minutes would go by to clean and monitor if drinks were getting low. She'd then come back with our bottles and pour to everyone. It honestly looked like the bottles were less and less each time when they would come back. It really seemed like the waitresses were sharing bottles with different sections. It felt really weird. Where we're from (Atlanta), when we pay for bottles in the section, they are brought out, poured amongst the guests, and put back in the ice. So to see our waitress take the bottles with her every time was weird and seemed shady. She was nice, though. This club had its lit moments. The DJ wouldn't let songs play too long though which was kind of annoying. Every time people would get into a vibe of a particular song, he'd switch to another song. His music selection was good, but timing was off. Overall, this place was ok, but it could've been better. I give it a solid 2.5. I think the regular cover charge is $20. I bought a Malibu pineapple and got cheaped out with Parrot Bay (still $14) I bought a vodka cranberry and they used ciroc red berry (didn't ask for flavored vodka and of course they use the flavor no one likes lol) Got a ciroc soda water and they used Smirnoff. At this point I was annoyed at the brand name liquor not being used. Asked for a new drink as I asked for Ciroc and not Smirnoff. Bijou has a chic atmosphere, great sound and whoever books their house wednesdays and techno fridays knows what they are doing. I have fun when I'm there, which is often. But ffs this is the 4th or 5th time myself or a friend has found fraudulent charges on our cards from this club. I'm guessing they think everyone gets super fucked up and doesn't remember how many drinks they ordered? Or maybe they know that most of their clientele send the bill directly to their parents back home and never look at it? Idk, but I for one check my bank statements (and now make a point of it after visiting bijou), and lo and behold I found 2 additional drinks charges on my card this morning from this past Friday. I know for a fact that I only ordered 4 and the next day there were only 4 charges on my card. So now magically 4 days later I get charged for 2 additional drinks. WTF. It's out of control and similar stuff has happened to several of my friends. They made us wait in 40 degree weather while it was raining. ALL of us waited in a Long line and did not get in to the club, I'm disappointed and told everyone around me they should leave a review as well. BIJOU has been a spot I would frequently visit, but after last night ... I'lol never give them money again. Went to Bijou last night because a well renowned DJ was playing and I thought it would be a nice Valentines Day treat. Boy was I wrong. TIckets were $40 which wasn't over the top for such a great DJ, but the tickets said the doors opened at 10 and when I got there, at 10:15, the 9 bouncers at the door didn't seem to care that a bunch of people were standing around trying to get in, except for people who appeared to be friends with them, (girls in 5 inch heels, dripping with fur) who they were letting in by the numbers. Finally got in around 10:30, where the place was still practically empty. REEKING of cologne, it felt like walking into an Abercrombie, which at 23 years old is the last smell on earth I'd like to get a whiff of walking into a club. The service was horrendous, both by bouncers and bartenders. Drinks were obscenely expensive. We got 4 drinks and spent about $60 dollars, not including tips, and one of those drinks was a Diet Coke. There is not enough room for dancing either. Just a huge row of tables that you can't sit at and about 15 middle eastern kids crowded around, yelling and standing up on benches, so you can't even see the DJ we spent our money to see. To add to my miserable experience, the bouncers kept avoiding dealing with this kid who was belligerently falling on top of me (too drunk or on drugs, I believe) as they walked by him a million times until I went over to one of them complaining. They finally tapped him on the shoulder and...did nothing. To solve the problem, I left my great spot up front and moved to the back. The icing on the cake, after moving away from the upright zombie in the front, I moved over to the bar. A girl next to me "taking" a shot launched it over her shoulder and completely covered me with her tequila. I went to the bartender SOAKING wet, and she didn't seem to care at all. Gave me 2 napkins and went back to standing there doing nothing. **UPDATE** I have since gone back and had better experiences, MUCH BETTER. The doormen are friendly, the bartenders are actually paying attention. If the price of drinks were a little lower, I would come here much more often. The crowds changed a lot too, for the better.
