Oh, I've been to Big Straw Boba before! It's one of my favorite boba places in town. The drinks are delicious and they have a great variety of flavors to choose from. The boba is always nice and chewy, and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend trying their signature drinks like the Brown Sugar Milk Tea or the Taro Milk Tea. You won't be disappointed! read more

Got a lavender milk tea with boba, with less sugar. It was okay... way too much ice and couldn't taste much lavender. I'm sure regular sugar would've been too sweet. Decent boba texture. read more

My first time visiting BigStraw Boba in Oxnard. I was greeted by a super nice employee and she told me what her favorites were. There was so many flavors and combinations to choose from. I chose one of her suggestions. Pineapple/Mango with boba! So good! Don't know if I was more fascinated with the yummy flavor(not to sweet) or the swanky machine that heat seals the label to the top of your cup! Haha! The little things that fascinate us foodies! Definitely give this place a try! read more

The boba drinks here were good and perfect for a nice, sunny day! I got the jasmine green milk tea with boba and it was very flavorful. My boyfriend got the strawberry smoothie with lychee and fruit jelly, which also was delicious. They have these jumbo sized cups like the ones they have in Vegas but only for the smoothies. I was sad they couldn't do the jasmine green milk tea in the huge cups because the large was kind of small for me. We paid $5.50 each for a "large." I definitely could've drank at least 3 of their "large" cups. Maybe next time read more

Boba was not fresh and they put so much crushed ice in my milk tea I couldn't even sip up the liquid. Tried it out because of the high reviews but definitely left disappointed. Will be trying a different boba place in this area next time. read more

Lavender Milk Tea w/Boba and Coffee Jelly. My forever favorite! Never thought I'd have boba everyday until I came here. Place is inviting. Drinks are yummy. The workers are nice. read more

To be honest, I just came here because I heard this place had the split cup boba. Although when I tried the boba, I wasn't that impressed. I ordered a split cup with half Thai Tea and half Milk Tea which was called Tiger Tea. They basically only have this option of a split cup and green tea options. The split cup is pretty cool because it's made from a durable plastic that you can reuse; that's probably why it cost $6. The boba was okay and the drink was a bit on the watery side. I don't know if it's just me, but their Milk Tea barely had any flavor. Inside was fairly small as it did not have any seats inside, but just a long cushioned bench along the wall. They also do not have restrooms here. I do applaud them on their fast service though! They only had one worker at the time and there was a small line, but I only waited about 2 minutes for my drink. I'd come back, but just to try their fruit/slush drinks. I don't think I'd order another milk tea here. read more

I enjoy my first boba from here, I ordered the Thai Tea with boba and custard pudding. The place was clean and the women employees working tonight were nice. My drink was made in a timely matter, the drink wasn't too sweet it was just right and the boba didn't have a taste, but weren't bad either. I'll be coming back for sure! read more

for my boyfriends birthday, we went out of town for the weekend. per usual, we normally crave boba or coffee. luckily, we found this place 10 minutes away from the airbnb we were staying at. the place was pretty difficult to find, not gonna lie. it was tucked away in a small plaza. it was so hard to find - even my google maps couldn't find it! getting to this place was well worth it though. the milk tea was unlike any other I've had. it wasn't the best, but it was good. sadly, it kind of tasted like the whole drink was made out of powder and syrup... maybe that's why it was good... or was I just thirsty? the tapioca was soft and chewy. didn't have much flavor to it but the texture was on point. the price for this small size cup came out to almost $4 which is pretty expensive for a boba milk tea that wasn't up to par as other boba joints. read more

It was about 6 months or so that I decided to try boba.... Honestly, I thought that I would probably not like it but I was willing to give it a try , and yes I really enjoyed it . A very clean asthenosphere and the workers are very kind . Within five minutes ... I already had my order . The only complaint that I have is that for some reason at 8:30 they ran out of Boba lol. Maybe I need to be there by 7:30. read more

What I love most about Bigstraw Boba is the moment when I'm in the area and realize "Omg! I forgot about Bigstraw Boba!" And then it's exciting because you'll B-Line it there. That said, I gave it 4 stars because I don't actually enjoy going there and ordering it and waiting for it for some reason. I just want it done and be drinking it and skip the process. Lol. I don't know. They have a huge selection and I wouldn't be able to recommend a specific one since it really depends on the individual and the current craving, but they definitely have something for everyone and it is reasonably priced and really good. So go. read more

The drinks tasted great and they had a wide variety of flavors on can drink from. The orange creamsicle, the watermelon, and the passion fruit tasted great. However the horchata drink wasn't as good. They do lots of different add ins such as vanilla latte, custard, and so much more. Great place and helpful service. read more

I cannot take anyone seriously when they say they're boba lovers and think this is good. The actual drinks are fine and the service is fantastic. The ladies who made my two drinks today were very kind and helpful but it was not very good. The boba was bland and tasteless but the texture was its saving grace. The green tea is easy-- I don't think anyone can actually mess that up and they didn't. I also had one of their slushes. it was powdery and meh. I was looking forward to giving this place a go but I kinda wish I didn't spend the money on it. oh well. read more

Get your latest boba fads here! My family & I have always supported this company ever since they moved their location from the Billiards on Ventura Road. This location in particular is one of their popular ones from the one on Saviers Road & Camarillo location. Not sure why, but this is in a busy intersection on Oxnard Blvd. From my review from the Camarillo location, THE. BEST. BOBA. IN. TOWN! My cousins from the LA/OC area say so who are closer to several boba shops out there. When I have family visiting, this is also one of their first or must pitstops. Funny cause I even ran into a high school friend here who now lives out in Riverside & came here for a boba stop! Boba perks other locations do not have: - Yard cup! Yes, boba in a half yard cup (no alcohol) with a straw shaped like a hose. - Color changing straws! Poke your straw in your cup & watch the colors change. - Mini boba! - Split cups! 2 flavors in 1 cup. All vary & are for a limited time! Stay up to date with them via Instagram (@bigstrawboba2) for hours, perks, & benefits! Shouts to the owner & service at this location as well! Love the friendly service they provide. read more

Boba, oh sweet boba. You odd, little balls of tapioca serving up a snack with my cool, refreshing drink. I'm still baffled at how resistant some people can be at the idea of this delicious beverage. Anyhow, cue Big Straw 2. I actually just stumbled across this business while browsing yelp since I had thought boba had died out after Froyo became the new craze. With the encouragement of 4.5 star rating though, off me and my wife went to peep this new Oxnard spot. Gotta say, they did damn good. The consistency and texture of their boba is some of the best I've had, and I've had them from all over. I'm seriously just under the impression that the people who smack-talk the tasty tapioca treats are those elitist valley/LA people who think "zomg, so like the valley is totally like the best and like everything in it is like, so much better." I gotta be honest with you though...I can't exactly speak for anything else in their menu except for the Taro Slush with boba cuz that's the same damn drink I get every time I come here, which is about once a week (I know, it's a sickness). I find myself craving that cup of purple about two days after my last one. (For those in the know, taro is a tropical root vegetable similar to ube though not quite exactly). I guess my only complaint would be that their prices are higher than those spots in the valley or LA (okay you got us on that one). I guess that's just a function of supply and demand - there's only a handful of other boba spots serving the entire county. Either way, the premium is well worth it as it's head and shoulders above those other places. read more

This place is for all the boba crackheads who just can't get enough of these type of drinks. From Northridge to Oxnard my friends and I are not going to order a tiny weeny drink. We ordered the whole nine yard. ($16) You get to keep the yard stick. It is pretty cool because they look like fat tuesday! If you bring back the yard stick you can refill it for $9.60. My friends and I have came here twice. For me I thought the slush was just like any regular blended slush. The pearls were average. But man do they have a whole lot of options for your drinks! The workers were very nice. I would come here again if I happen to be in Oxnard again. read more

50 oz of smoothie & 10 oz of boba & pudding?! UH YES PLEASE! Found this place on yelp & just so happened to flip through the photos to find the yard of boba!!! BOBA DREAM COME TRUE! I ordered the Dulce de Leche & it was sure yummy! Not sweet enough for me to be honest, lol. The custard pudding was good! The boba was soft & chewy like how I like it. This was definitely a clever idea! Order was $16.40. You pay for the cup which is about $6.40 & 2 drink orders which is $5 each. The straw is pretty interesting. LOL! It's huge! Save the cup & straw & refills are $10. Definitely recommend this place! read more

This is the only place in Oxnard to come for Boba. Let's rephrase that. This is the only place you should come to for Boba. -Tons of flavors -Fast service -Well blended drinks. I hate boba places that still have huge ice chunks when you drink them. -Discounts Room for improvement: -some tables and chairs customers can enjoy their drinks -Snack Menu- a lot of boba places do make small munchies like salt and pepper chicken nuggets. Or something like that. I would come by more frequently for that. Over all experience was good. read more

Bigstraw Boba - Pretty good. Taro with boba and lychee jelly. - Juice Bars & Smoothies Near Me - Oxnard, California

I'm only giving this place two stars because they're not stingy with their boba or jellies, but the workers were really rude and was not attentive at all. I was never really a fan of Big Straw Boba, but I went in yesterday because my little nephew wanted boba and this was the nearest boba place. I got the green tea lychee w/ boba & my nephew got watermelon w/ boba. Green tea lychee w/ boba The drink was surprisingly very good, the lychee was not overpowering the green tea unlike Blossom Tea House where they drench the green tea in lychee syrup. I appreciated how Big Straw stayed true to the flavor of the green tea and only adding a hint of lychee. When I got my order I wanted to add some lychee jellies, so I waited in line again to get some. When it was my turn the girl that was helping me had such a condescending tone to her voice and it seemed like she had no interest of helping me. It just made me feel like I shouldn't have even asked for lychee jellies. Watermelon w/ boba Geez, this was so bad. My nephew did not even want to drink it. The drink did not even taste like watermelon & you can taste the grainy powder with every single sip. read more

The restaurant is located in between the Circle K and El Portal Mexican Restaurant. The store was a nice size and the service was fast and efficient. I ordered a blended drink and it was ready very quick. The drink I ordered was the Carmel Creme and I choose to have boba in my drink. The flavor of the drink was very good, sweet but not overly sweet. And they added whipped cream on top which was interesting but not bad. The boba has a good flavor to it. It was also a good texture. Not the best I've ever had but certainly good. The price wasn't awful but it was a little more than I'm used to paying for boba. The large is $5.50 and the small is $4.75. The large isn't really that big. Will I be back again, probably if I lived closer. The boba is pretty good, the service is fast and the staff is nice. And the store is pretty cute. read more

I'm giving a 4 star review, since I go here ALMOST all the time since it's the only reliable go-to place for boba in Oxnard. Most of the time, its really good. However, I would like to express an unpleasant experience from what happened there earlier today. I ordered 2 large avocado smoothies, and when I had a sip of it, it tasted nothing like avocado. Just milk, sugar, ice and a hint of avocado. I told the girl who made our drink that it didnt taste anything like avocado. Her response was that she did use avocado. I dont doubt that she didnt, but maybe she didnt use enough for two large orders, hence the slight taste and the light green coloring. I should've been offered a replacement for I havent even left the place and the drink was barely consumed. But after hearing her curt response, I left the place and ended up throwing the cup in the trash outside of the door. My daughter kept hers just because she wanted to eat the bobas that was on the bottom of the cup. read more

First time trying this boba place. The girls were super friendly and quick. Reasonably priced? $4.25 for a small drink. I think so, specially since that's what I pay for a Starbucks drink anyway. I ordered a Hawaiian coconut. Really refreshing coconut, tastes like Piña Colada, all I need is my pool-side chair and a good book. Haha My sons ordered Lychee and horchata. The horchata tastes just like the real Mexican horchata with a rewarding boba at the bottom. The lychee was super sweet to my liking. I can see myself returning here, especially since it's close to my work and my favorite taqueria. It looks like you can follow them on Instagram and Facebook too. Oh, there's a Camarillo location as well. Shopping, anyone? read more

Horrible horrible customer service. Didn't get greeted. The lady at the cash register wasn't friendly. Employees could be friendlier. Didn't know they charge extra for fucking sprinkles. Service is okay. They really need to work on that.

I am from L.A so I wanted to try something that I can find in L.A so I decided on Bigstraw Boba over Boba Time. Unfortunately, I made a mistake. When we first went in, we asked the cashier some questions specifically regarding if they had slushed drinks but the lady didn't understand what a slushed drink is. We asked if blended was anything like slushed and she kept saying no and talking to us as if we were children. When we got our blended drink, it actually was a slush. Please educate the staff on what type of drinks they serve to customers. read more

There was a roach inside my coconut boba super nasty never will come back to this place.

I use to love coming here until they changed their milk tea formula. I'm not a fan of it.

To me, an Oxnard native, this is the best spot for boba in town. When it's a quick shop like this I don't mind good or bad service since I'm not staying for long. It's a quick hi and bye so don't expect much, anyway the boba to me is bomb. Again c'mon I think it's common sense to know this boba doesn't do fruit smoothie boba's like if it were a juice bar, a boba is a treat and should b treated as one. Oxnard btw, isn't known for boba's so don't expect an OG OG boba like you probably shouldn't expect poke is as good in Cali as it is in Hawaii. Anyway the lavender/taro milk tea boba I got tonight was so bomb that it inspired this review. It was perfectly sweetened and the customer service was as good as a hi and bye. Don't expect too much and it'll b great, I promise read more

Just ordered a lychee black tea & mango green tea with boba. Their boba is NOT fresh. Not the best place to go.

This Bigstraw used to make some really good drinks when they first opened. We were feeling the craving today. So my wife, my daughter and I went in to the store on the corner of Oxnard Blvd and Vineyard today, 04/05/19, at 4:23 pm. We ordered 3 Taro Boba drinks and took a seat. The Girl behind us ordered a banana drink and I think the other was coffee boba. And I know this because she got her drinks before us. Not that it took much more time, but.... really. It took the girl longer to make her 2 separate flavored drinks than it did to make our 3 Taro drinks. Way to make your customers feel less than adequate. And to top it off, my drink was full of ice chunks and grainy. We'll get ours elsewhere from now on. read more

Customer service was good. The reason I give it this rating is that I'm from the LA/OC area and these areas are littered with boba shops competing with each other. So the taste of the milk tea and quality of the boba is usually very good for most of the places you'll try. So for me, this was underwhelming. The boba is actually mushy and chalky. The milk tea tasted like it was purely flavored sugar. Usually, milk teas have some hint of the tea taste at least. It may be the better boba in the area, but it can definitely be way better. I may come back and try it in a few months and see if it starts to catch up to the boba standards these days and rerate this. Looking forward to any improvements! read more

Horrible customer service !!!!!!!! Came here last week and I had the worst customer service. It seems that the cashier hates her job .
