You get a sheet of paper you can keep for your own records, which has all of the information you need - I store it in my glovebox. This is a little hut, meant only for emissions testing. It is not a full service garage or repair center, so you can only get the testing done here. If you fail the test, you have to go to a different business to get repairs done, but you can come back here to retake the test! I will be recommending this location to everyone I know. Couldn't ask for a better emissions testing booth!

Since my last visit in May, more issues surfaced -- like the Matryoshka doll of mechanical problems; fix one thing, and boom, another pops up. It's honestly a miracle I didn't break down (or blow up!) on the way from California 4 months ago. But thankfully, she waited to fall apart until we got to the Treasure Valley and into the right hands: Chris (SERIOUSLY knowledgable & a wizard with parts and pricing) and Jason (the Master Technician Magician with a sharp eye and zero B.S.). The result? My car is now running better than it ever has: Starts on the first crank No more engine stench Insanely good gas mileage No more holding my breath & praying when I turn the key My last shop in San Diego missed a lot. These guys? Caught everything -- including some jerry-rigged nonsense from the previous owner. Old cars are tricky- sourcing parts, chasing weird issues; they tracked down hard-to-find parts, explained everything clearly, and yet again, came in under the estimate! It wasn't just a repair; it felt like real restoration. Yeah, she still needs a few things (old cars stay humble), but for the first time in a long time, I drive with confidence & CALM. I ask a ton of questions and pay close attention to how I'm treated--and every time I walk into this shop, I'm met with professionalism, honesty, and real respect. Oh my goodness, I am BEYOND pleased with my experience today at Western Auto Service!!…read more I will start and end by sharing my interaction(s) with Jacqueline, my service advisor. I scheduled my appointment over the phone and Jacqueline was so kind, positive, and professional. She is very knowledgeable while at the same time, so easy to communicate with. Upon arrival today, Jacqueline greeted me by my name, was incredibly engaging, and took charge to get my service done! My technician was amazing! He was as fast and efficient, while taking the time to answer my questions. The waiting area and office is inviting and comfortable, complete with a beautiful array of snacks, cold bottled water, and a Keurig with all the fixings. My wait was short and the price was beyond reasonable given the service I was provided. I had the pleasure of seeing Alex again, one of the owners (husband:), which was lovely. Ok so months and months ago I went to Metro and typed out a very long review....I just deleted that…read moreone and starting this one lol. Just didn't feel like that last one was...right. I mean, what I said about this place and the staff was what I wanted to say, but yeah, something was off with the review. I know as I write if I'm gonna love what I've written or if I'll write one and then put in drafts. I'm weird, I know lol. Few weeks ago, the roommate and I went back here for an oil change. Sooo now I can write a review, a more updated one even if I say things very similar to my first review that I just deleted lol. Jake and Tyler run this place and they're fn amazing. Jake, as long as we have been going to him as always gone above and beyond to make you happy. The guy is amazing. Tyler, if I remember correctly, came along later (when they worked at Einstein's) and happy he did come along and happy he is now at Metro after Vavoline bought Einstein's...which was a shame because Vavoline sucks...that's for another review that I'll never do because I'll never go there lol. Metro is literally 30 mins from my house. So that aspect...well, it sucks lol. Have an old truck and during the summer it doesn't do too well with the heat. We still drive over to Metro regardless tho because we know we will get amazing service from an incredible staff of guys who know what they are doing and who actually really enjoy what they are doing. You go, you'll see what I'm talking about. The drive to Metro is totally worth it, it would be cool tho if they open a shop in Boise tho (wink, wink lol. I'd use the emoji instead of the creepy "wink" word, but Yelp doesn't allow emojis lol) One saying I've always heard in commercials and whatnot and have always thought "what a line of bullshit" hahaha is "we treat you like family" Metro, I don't think uses that cringe line, but they actually do treat you like family or like y'all have been friends for years. Yeah we have known Jake for awhile, but I have seen him interact with others and he is just as incredible and friendly with them as he is with us, as is the rest of the staff. Jake keeps us coming back tho. Great guy, service is always on point and prices here are perfect. They don't overcharge you or try to guilt you into buying something you DON'T need like so many of these places do. So even though they may not be 3 mins from my house like they used to be, the drive to Meridian to get the help/service from them is worth it. Jake and Tyler are the best. So happy Jake was able to get his own shop, he deserves it. I won't make this too long, so I guess ima end it there. I'm afraid if I go any longer, Yelp will cut me off. They always have a subtle way of telling me to "stfu already" hahahaha because my reviews tend to be a tad longer than most...I mean, why write a short one?
