Bigfire - Is this the part of asparagus that's usually not served or thrown out - American Near Me - Orlando, Florida

I liked the rosemary butter that comes with the bread, but the bread should've been free as bread usually is. The entrees were fine although seems to be made beforehand because they came out really fast and they came out lukewarm. The lamb was tender and fell off the bone and was a huge portion. Also the parsnip purée was delicious. The chicken was extremely dry. The reason this drops to two stars instead of an average three stars which the food would give it is that the service was abysmal. Our server never asked if we wanted drinks or desserts. They took away plates of food before the party was finished eating. I asked for a hot drink. The server said hot chocolate was all they had even though hot tea is on the menu. He brings the hot chocolate and it is cold. Apparently the machine it comes from the heater wasn't turned on. He never brings me another hot chocolate. Also why is machine hot chocolate $5? read more

I was looking forward to a wonderful date night with my boyfriend but, oh my, was it a disappointment. After checking in for our reservation we were seated within 5 minutes which I thought was fantastic. We get to our table and it's like the staff ghosted us for a solid 20 minutes. No one brought over water, offered cocktails, nothing. Once our server did make his way over he said that he would give us a few minutes to get settled since we were just seated. We did ask for him to take our order then since we had been waiting for awhile which he graciously does. We started off with the Smoked, Smoked Maple and Bulleit Blackberry Citrus Old Fashions to drink which were phenomenal. I would go back just for the drinks. For started we ordered the Hearth Baked Oven Bread and Smoked Trout Dip. Both were okay. 1/3 of the bread was burnt and not edible and the dip was really just mediocre. I ordered the 8oz filet medium rare and was told that it comes with roasted carrots and smashed potatoes as the sides. I ask to have the corn casserole instead of the potatoes. My boyfriend ordered 16oz ribeye which just to note includes the bone since that's not mentioned on the menu. He gets the roasted carrots and smashed potatoes as his sides and then added the white asparagus, pork belly Mac and cheese, and corn casserole. My boyfriend's steak comes out with his potatoes and carrots side and the pork belly Mac and cheese. No asparagus, no corn. The server says the missing items will be right out. In the meantime the mac and cheese is cold with maybe two pieces of pork belly the size of an eraser? The asparagus arrives and it's ok but we ask about the corn again. Oh yes it's coming and it does in about another 5 minutes. It's room temperature. My steak comes out over cooked and just the corn casserole but at least mine is steaming hot. Ok maybe I misunderstand when it was said the roasted carrots and smashed potatoes were the sides, they are actually a side. It is mentioned that a manager would remove my filet from the bill. This was not expected but given the amount of time we waited after being seated, the issue with sides, and my steak it was an appreciated peace offering. Having to eat our meals after different times, continuously asking for the sides it felt like I was a mom asking her kids to pick up their toys. It just took any quality time together and turned it into a chore. We were over the night and ready to go home. We wait for another 15 minutes or so to ask for the check even though our plates have been cleared. Once the check arrives, it still has my steak on it. I ate the steak so I will pay for it but why say you're taking it off the bill? Would I stop by the bar for drinks only? Absolutely, and maybe the corn casserole if it was warm. Otherwise I'll be finding a different restaurant to take my family to when they're visit. read more

We made reservations here for dinner post park day! Overall we were satisfied but there is definitely room for improvement. The biggest disappointment of the evening was the bread appetizer we ordered! The bread was dry and burnt in some places & obviously over cooked! We were looking forward to the bread appetizer & it was a let down! However our entrees of steak & lamb chops were very good! The lamb chops were amazing & the cowboy ribeye was great! The pork belly mac n cheese had a great taste, but would've been better if it wasn't cold! We ordered wine to start with, the pours here seem a little small, standard wine pour is about 5-6oz, & the wine pours here seem to be a little less. Our server did a great job! She had to many tables but did her best to keep up & was very attentive! The table side s'mores dessert was a fun experience. We would probably eat here again, we would just skip the bread appetizer & maybe opt for cocktails rather than wine. read more

Waiter was awesome. Food was great. My wife had mussels for an appetizer which she loved. I had the cheeseburger and fries and my wife had prime rib. The taste of the fire was literally in the burger and steak which was a good thing. A very distinct open flame taste. Making a reservation was easy. Only negative is it is only open from 4pm to 10pm so does make it hard to schedule around your park visits. read more

Great food and service Nice all around ambiance. Meat cooked to perfection. The only thing that could use some work is the bread. For $7 that you are paying you would think the bread would be fresh. Asides from that next time you are in the area this is a good choice to spend a nice evening. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The service was impeccable, that is why I am giving this place two stars instead of one. I ordered the special which was a filet with scallops, Mac and cheese and veggies. The filet was cooked perfectly, but unfortunately that was the only thing that was good. The Mac and cheese was so bland and had no flavor, it was like eating macaroni right out of the boiling water. On to the scallops, oh man the scallops. The scallops were overcooked, it was like chewing on a rubber band. The server overheard me saying that to my friends and offered to get it remade but I just didn't want to do that to him nor wait any longer. I hope it was just an off day for them. read more

We food was ok nothing amazing. We ordered the bread appetizer and it was just 4 thick slices of bread with butter and jelly it was overrated and overprice. As entrees we ordered the shrimp, mussels, Cobb salad with steak. The steak was ok and not melt in your mouth amazing and it was cooked medium even though we asked for medium rare. The restaurant setup was nice bright and plenty of seating without feeling overcrowded. The service was mediocre and our server, Taylor, had no personality and no customer skills and was sarcastic when asking her about an item on the menu. With the prices and service will not be coming back! read more

Located in the Universal City Walk, close to the Islands of Adventure entrance. If you want to try food that is cooked over wood, give this place a go. The food tastes good, service is good, and atmosphere is nice. Reservation is recommended. read more

Very disappointing. We walk in - the place looks great. It smells awesome. Great songs are playing on the sound system and there is a firepit outside. The menu looks fantastic, lots of steaks, burgers etc. So what could possibly go wrong? How about EVERYTHING? Our server was a really nice guy and very funny. However, service was lacking right from the start. I am not sure if it was his fault or he was shackled by a slow, uncoordinated kitchen, but everything took way too long. We ordered a bottle of wine at the same time as our appetizers. The appetizers arrived, we ate them, we stacked the dirty plates to be taken away and still no bottle of wine. Our server kept telling us he "was going to get it now" - well get it already! Finally the bottle arrives and we embark on a long and tedious wait for our entree's, which came out a good 40 minutes or so after the appetizer plates were cleared. Our server came by to apologize a few times about "the slow kitchen." The food arrived and the wait would have been ok, if the food was good - but good it definitely was NOT! First of all, this place has lots of nerve charging New York steakhouse prices, for steaks that look like something you would get when ordering steak and eggs, at a greasy fast food chain. The "Cowboy Ribeye" I had was a JOKE! Thin and anemic, like a minute steak. And get this - it was ice cold...obviously sitting around for probably as long as I sat waiting there for it. Even the fries were terrible. Someone at our table ordered fish, which was dry and overcooked. What a waste of time and hard earned money. Plenty of better choices at Universal City Walk, like Cowfish for example. Never again. Big Fire = Big Fail. read more

I must start this by saying , our water Louis was great. I dare even use the word amazing. The food on the other hand ......was by far, worse than the street carts served inside of Universal . If I'm honest the ribeye wasn't horrible . The filet on the other hand was hands down the worse cut I've ever experienced in any steak house on the east coast. If the food matched the service, this place would be 5 stars . Save your money and take your family across the wall to GrillBrew. read more

We had a reservation on Christmas for dinner and it turned out better than expected. We ordered filets, ribeye and Prime Rib. All of it was excellent. The service was excellent, the place was packed but we never felt neglected. The dinner was expensive, probably a tad high for the casual vibe but the food was great. We had several cocktails and all were good. We had an enjoyable dinner and never felt rushed. It turned out to be a great evening. read more

Service was great until it wasn't. This may have been the worst cut of steak I've ever had, and that includes Waffle House. I have no idea if they just bathe their cuts in liquid smoke, but between the texture and flavor, it was like Kingsford flavored bubblegum. I get it's a tourist spot, but come on. read more

Set us promptly at our reservation time. We had the bbq shrimp and short rib pasta. The shrimp where flavorless and over cooked. The cream sauce was thin and flavorless. The cornbread was pretty good but on the sweet side. This was all amplified by the dish arrived cold. Wife short rib was bland and lacked sauce. My son did enjoy his burger. We would not not come back nor recommend. The one highlight was the extensive whiskey list, I had staff jr and it was awesome! read more

We left the park absolutely starving and thrilled to get seated right away upstairs. Eric our server was fabulous!! Now... let me explain the low rating. The food was amazing and great service... BUT, they included an 18% service fee on the check... 6 adults a baby. Fine... charge the tip... but at least tell us!!! We ended up leaving a 38% tip on a $400 bill... lost a little faith. read more

Was super excited to get steak here. I ordered a NY strip that came with potatoes and roasted carrots. I received THREE carrot shreds, two smashed mini potatoes, and ice cold steak. Sent it back and got a new plate and everything was burnt. In addition, my boyfriend ordered a medium rare steak that came back almost well done. Im very disappointed. read more

It was surprisingly easy to find a table for our group of 5 for dinner and our meal started out on a positive note with complimentary warm bread with herb butter and jam. The wood charred brussels sprouts were amazing with the creamy almond smear. I especially liked the Brook Trout that was seasoned well and fileted thinly so there was more surface area to come in contact with the hearth fire grill! I also liked the tartar sauce that paired well with the main and especially the grilled mushrooms on the side! The restaurant was conveniently located in Universal and had a nice fire pits outside and a great place to enjoy good food with friends! read more

I am honestly sorry to not share photos. We were extremely hungry and got the fondue with sausage, the asparagus, the Brussels sprouts for starters. Then we enjoyed Mussels, ribeyes cooked to perfection, and scallops for main course, finishing it off with a baked Alaska and espressos which were also amazing. We got an old fashion, 2 different margaritas and an angel bourbon. Honestly the Best food in Orlando. Very good service. We will most definitely return! read more

came here with my friends after a full day at universal. they were able to accommodate our big group of 10 in one long table fairly quickly (within 10 minutes). the service was great and prompt, we honestly loved the vibe and the friendly staff. we got a bunch of appetizers to share. the mussels and the fish dip were our favorite. i personally got the burger which was okay (not amazing). my friends got the steak and liked it. overall, good food and service, not bad prices. read more

We had a reservation, which is a must, and were seated immediately even though we were a bit early. But then it took about 20 minutes after ordering for our food to actually arrive. I got the seafood bake, which is scalding hot, served in broth in a skillet. The flavor is pretty good but not great. My girlfriend had the beef burgundy. I tried it and also thought it was pretty good but not great. I imagine their steaks are good but they're significantly more expensive. Overall, it's a pretty good restaurant. Not my favorite at City Walk but worth trying. read more

Drinks, appetizers, and service were good. For drinks, we had the mojito and and old fashioned. For appetizers, we had the house bread and the fish dip. House bread, we would give it 3/5. It was average. A bit burnt on the top. The apricot jelly that came with the bread was very tasty. I would get the bread again just for jelly. The trout dip we gave it 4/5. It was good but nothing out of the extraordinary. The service, however, we would give 5/5. Everyone were very friendly and attentive. Our bartender was very specific and asked us for our preferences to make sure we enjoy our drinks thoroughly. read more

A continuation of reviews from our June vacation. Everything started off good. We sat down quickly and drink orders were taken right away. We ordered our dinner,my daughter ordered the steak wedge salad, my wife the pork chop, and I ordered the cowboy ribeye. When you look at the pictures everything looks fine, but that was not the case. The steak wedge salad was ordered medium rare. It basically came out raw. The worst part of that is they actually cut the steak to put it with the salad and nobody saw that it was essentially raw. We do not usually send back food but this we did. They made her a new steak but it did not arrive till everybody was done with their meal. The ribeye had the opposite problem, was ordered med rare but came out med well. Aside from that was an average steak nothing special about it. The pork chop was done right but was not memorable. Our waiter Marco was great he tried to make things better and offered us dessert which we passed on. He was a very good waiter who really tried and none of it was his fault. If we were ever back there for any reason would request him if he was there. All in all it was a disappointment for what is supposed to be an upper end restaurant on City Walk. read more

So this has been our place to go when at Universal Orlando. Reservations are highly suggested. Once in the place is large enough for big groups. The servers are always attentive and can assist with suggestions. The food is always great but there chicken plates are usually dry. You have to try their bourbon drinks they are awesome and worth having. Love the decor and spacing between guest. Enjoy. read more

Food and service very poor. Ordered Scallops that smelled horribly when delivered. Grilled chicken sandwich was similar to a Tysons frozen chicken breast. Fire grilled Brussels sprouts were cold 45 min after they opened. Ask for bread and it's a $5 up charge even though the bill is over $150. Wine selection poor and worst thing is the bartenders act like they absolutely hate their job. No conversation - no smile which is a direct reflection on the management. I dine out a lot and would NEVER recommend this restaurant. read more

It takes a lot for me to write a review. The wife ordered the 6oz filet ( which is the only reason this review is 3 stars instead of 1 ) and I ordered the ribeye. Her filet was cooked decently close to her order of medium rare, the flavor was decent but they rely heavily on their wood fire grill for flavor. NOW my ribeye was overcooked but close enough at the first bite to be ok with it. What I was not okay with is the fact they are charging prime quality pricing for select grade cut of steak. Lack of flavor, over cooked and surprisingly low quality cut of meat was enough to make me want to write a review. The potatoes with the steak were overcooked and carrots way undercooked. The coke was tasty though.... Overall the staff was friendly, service was good and the atmosphere is pleasant. If we had both ordered the filet it would have been a 4 star review read more

Maybe it was the fact that it was the day before New Years, or that my friend and I made our reservation for an hour before they closed, but everything about our experience was poor. We waited way too long to be served, we were sat near the kitchen door which squeaked every time someone opened it (told the waitress and she said "thanks for letting us know") and our food was cold when it finally came out. There are a lot of dining options at theme parks, and this is not one I'll be selecting again. read more

Food was excellent. We loved the chicken entree and the beef Bourgogne. We also stared out with the artichoke dip... so good!! And the apple pie was delicious! Our server was Aaron.. absolutely wonderful! He was knowledgeable and friendly. Next time we eat here, we will try to request his section. Drink menu, such as cocktails and bourbons were extensive. Lots of options. However, the by the glass wine selection was not. Very limited with only one by the glass option. Mostly grocery store type wine, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead on 5. read more

Great food and service. Despite there being a wait Lisa made sure it went by quickly. She was kind and friendly which help when you have a hungry teen who's been traveling all day. She sat us with one of the best wait staff, Sophia and our table was right by their amazing open kitchen. The food was exceptional. Sophia made sure we had everything we needed at each course, she made great recommendations as this was our first time eating here. Do not miss the fondue appetizer and get both the pull pork and andouille add-ons. Yum! Definitely was a traffic dining experience.
