This is a very popular self-serve Chinese hot pot restaurant which is extremely popular in Vancouver and expanding to several North American cities. They only charge $3.89/100g, undercutting all others who are at $3.99/100g. They also do not charge for specialty items such as abalone (other restaurants charge $3.99/stick). You grab a bowl, select you ingredients with a tong, weigh your bowl, choose a soup base (there are 10 of them), and receive a number so that they can find you when it is cooked. With the broth, you can choose your spice level and garnishes (cilantro, green onion, sesame). Drinks are separate. There is Bing Fen (Chinese Ice Jelly) dessert ($4.99). The service was good. All soup bases have high collagen pork bone, cooked for 8 hours. There is a loyalty program. You get 1 point per dollar spent. There are many prize levels. You also get 1 star for every $25 spent on a bill. After 8 stars, you get a tote bag. They soft-opened on 2025-09-02. We came on 2025-09-03 at 22:00; they open until 02:00! There is an open kitchen where you can see them cooking the ingredients and soup base. There is adequate table and booth seating. There is loud pop music playing in the background. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are two male and two female washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. This is a self serve malatang / hot pot place. Food costs $3.89 per 100g, and you can choose from a variety of soup bases. It's about 10 cents (2.5%) cheaper than other places and with the reward program, Big Way does come out ahead more value. I tried the tomato and the beef soup. Both are quite good and I like how the soups are not too salty compared to other hot pot places. Most of the ingredients were fresh, but some of the meats needed to be restocked when I went. You can also choose to add rice on the side for extra. I believe for the spicy soups you can also adjust the spice level. The inside is relatively spacious. There are 2 sauce bars and plentiful seating. There is also a wait list system should there be a wait. There are plenty of staff members available to help and service was good. On Monday to Friday, if you can guess your price within 10 cents, 20 cents, or 30 cents, you can get some discount on your food (not sure how long this will go on though). There is also free Ube Ice Cream at the end. I found this to be quite good actually.

Went in on a weekday evening and it's a self-serve hot pot based on weight of what you select. A few of these have popped up in the past few years and this place has a good selection for under $4 per 100g and includes the soup base. We tried the bone collagen and sukiyaki soup. The first pot arrived quickly but the second took much longer than expected. All other patrons who arrived after got their meals, even the wait staff noticed and kept following up with the kitchen without prompting, so the first pot was cold by the time both arrived to eat together. Otherwise everything else was okay and nice to finish off with ice cream. I also liked that payment is done before eating so there's less to worry about at the end.

The broth was sweet, savoury, and not overly tangy. We got it with sweet potato noodles, which had the most satisfying and addictive chew. There was already so much meat and veg in there that you really don't need to add much else. My only thing is I wish there were more sweet potato noodles to go with everything in the bowl. We added the pig trotter (because duh!), which was perfectly seasoned, tender, and had that nice gelatinous texture. Because of how big the portion was, we took the leftovers home, added more glass noodles, and was still able to get two full meals out of it the next day! The MaoCai broth was pretty spicy. We went with medium, and were breaking a sweat. The numbing heat hits fast and makes it hard to sip on the broth while eating (definitely not for the weak). Still, it had a solid ratio of meat to veg to noodles, and everything held up well with the broth. The parfaits were exactly what we needed after all that hotpot. The Citrus Garden Green Tea had a nice blend of green tea, citrus, and coconut that worked surprisingly well together. But the Brown Sugar Black Tea Parfait was our favourite. The tapioca balls were perfectly chewy and not too sweet, and the mix of black tea and grass jelly gave it such a good combo of textures. It was rhe perfect cool down. From what I hear, if you can say their tongue twister 3x in 30s you can get 50% off their new ice cream parfaits!

The service is always good, with attentive servers and hosts. They have a fairly extensive menu with a variety of food. From salads, to noodles, to rice, to various snacks, drinks and desserts, they'll have something for everyone. We got the black curry cutlet and the black curry cheesy beef. Both were delicious and a good portion size. The cutlet was crispy and beef was nicely cheesy. Both come out on sizzling plates and very hot, so be sure to wait to take the first bite, as tempting as it may be! The restaurant does fill up fast during peak hours so be prepared to wait in those time. However, I've noticed most people eat and leave so I don't think it'd take long to get a table, unless it's super busy. Overall a good spot for reasonably priced and yummy food, for a casual day out! :)

I would def come back to try another dish of theirs!

When I received notification that my table was ready, I went to the front and waited in line to provide my number. When it was finally my turn the employee walked away to assist other guests. He eventually returned and I gave him my number, but he immediately walked away again to seat another group. He never came back to assist me... I understood that it was a busy night so I waited patiently until he was available again to ask about my table. This time, I was completely ignored while he appeared to prioritize giving props to his buddy and seating them first. I felt extremely disrespected, don't think I'll be returning to this location.

It actually tastes quite dry. Our server also never really came around. We had to wait till someone comes around. Another weird thing that they do is add a mandatory 12% tips onto your bill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.

They had a seasonal flavour, ube, which was good but on the sweeter side. The matcha ice cream was great - and my favourite part of my meal. Our bowls ranged from $18 to $30 per a bowl. It's an additional $2 to add cheese and $3 do a bowl of rice. The restaurant can get very busy on a weekend evening, and noisy!

In our case, with 5 people sharing mostly appetizers / smaller dishes, we ended up spending about $20 per person (tip + tax included) which is still a pretty good deal. I'd absolutely go back for the popcorn chicken and the minced-pork rice bowl again.
