I love hot pot and Big Way offers great variety and quality of ingredients and broth for hotpot. From fresh vegetables to frozen and fresh beef, lamb, pork, shrimp, fish, scallops and mussels, they have it all. You van choose your ingredients, weigh them, choose your broth and soup, heat level (spice level), toppings and the staff will take care of the rest. You can also make your own sauce from the sauce buffet. They also offer great variety of drinks. The staff are very friendly and the service is fast.

    There's crab and abalone available

The new Big Way Hot Pot took over the Kinka Izakaya that had been in the area in many years. Unfortunately, they do not offer validated parking and with the Whole Foods closed, your best option is neighbourhood street parking if you're lucky to find a spot. Similar to many self serve hot pot that's trendy right now, here you can pick any topping you want and they weigh it at the end and charge $3.89/100g. The pricing is fair compared to similar restaurants plus you get a mini free ice cream too, and weekdays before 5pm you can also get a free drink. The ingredients are fresh and they have good varieties of meats, seafood, veggies, and noodles. They even have some premium items like sea scallops, abalone, and crab all at the same price. The soup broth options are great as well, ranging from malatang spicy options to milder bone broth, there's even vegan options like tomato and mushroom. There's a self serve sauce bar too to make your own dipping sauce. Even though the service is good, I wish they can control the crowds better. They make you join the waitlist when it gets busy, but with so many people are waiting by the door it get's difficult to come in and out.

This is a very popular self-serve Chinese hot pot restaurant which is extremely popular in Vancouver and expanding to several North American cities. They only charge $3.89/100g, undercutting all others who are at $3.99/100g. They also do not charge for specialty items such as abalone (other restaurants charge $3.99/stick). You grab a bowl, select you ingredients with a tong, weigh your bowl, choose a soup base (there are 10 of them), and receive a number so that they can find you when it is cooked. With the broth, you can choose your spice level and garnishes (cilantro, green onion, sesame). I chose sesame in mine. My bowl came out to $32.21. I also chose shredded cheese ($1.99) and a bowl of rice ($2.50). They actually torch the cheese at your table! Drinks are separate. I chose a Cookies and Cream drink ($6.50). Unlike their downtown location, they don't have desserts. The service was good. All soup bases have high collagen pork bone, cooked for 8 hours. There is a loyalty program. You get 1 point per dollar spent. There are many prize levels. You also get 1 star for every $25 spent on a bill. After 8 stars, you get a tote bag. This their third location in Toronto. They soft-opened on 2025-11-25. There is an open kitchen where you can see them cooking the ingredients and soup base. There is adequate table and booth seating. There is loud pop music playing in the background. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is one male and one female, two gender-neutralwashrooms, onre of which is wheelchairaccessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-247

Big Way hotpot is one of my favourite (if not the most fav) hotpot place in Toronto. I was so glad to see this new location open in North York, which is right next to Yonge-Sheppard station. So convenient location! Staff were so friendly and well-trained even when they just open last week. We visited on Monday evening around 5pm, and it was pretty quiet (that got busier by the time we left). Inside vibe was similar to when it was Kinka Izakaya before. Food is absolutely satisfying! It was even more delicious on cold snowy day in December :) Good quality and value. Their avocado smoothie with cheese cream foam is my regular order there too.

I came for their soft opening so they were still working out of things but it was so fun! There's so many different ingredients and broths to choose from, so fresh and they replenished everything very quickly. The service was top notch and so quick! Very clean and bright space. Will be coming back once their ice cream machine is up and running!

BIG WAY HOTPOT . . Big Way's newest location at Yonge and Sheppard has officially soft opened! If you've been to other Big Way locations then you understand what the hype is about. They have tins of fresh ingredients for you to choose from including meats, veggies, noodles and seafood. I love that their abalone is part of the $3.69/100g price and not extra $. You can also order cheese, rice and drinks for extra. We tried their tomato broth (4/5) and tom yum broth (3/5). At the end of your meal you also get taro ice cream. Highly recommend you to try them out as it hits the spot in this cold weather.

I finally tried this spot and it was a great experience! There's a great selection of meats, vegetables, noodles, and condiments! I loved the complimentary icecream at the end of the meal- truly the perfect pairing for a savoury meal! My only complaint is the really long wait time. My group was on the waitlist and when our table was "available" we weren't seated for quite some time. We were a larger group so maybe service would be quicker with fewer people? I think I would come back if I'm in area!

We called ahead since we are a party 6+. We had to try multiple times because our call was left unanswered.. Overall food was great .. until I found something shiny stuck to a shrimp in the hotpot. I was able to figure out what it was once I took it out. A flexible SHARP STEEL filament - Likely from steel wool. GROSS!!!!! And DANGEROUS!!! After I found that, it ruined my appetite and night. I became paranoid and worried about my family biting into steel. Will this result in a trip to the hospital? The server was apologetic and helped us change the broth immediately but honestly I wish there was more from management. It's not like finding a strand of hair. This is serious!!! Daimaru's lack of food safety and poor hygiene is unacceptable. I am still fuming that this happened. They are lucky I found it before any of the 7 seniors found it stuck in their throat or intestines. The nice servers had to hear our anger and frustration. Eventually after the second complaint from us did the manager finally decide to come in personally and address it. Should have addressed it the moment it happened in my opinion. If you eat here, eat at your own risk and check your food carefully. Attaching our receipt of the resolution: 10% off our entire bill. Won't be recommending to anyone.

Not only was the restaurant theme absolutely breathtaking (which was a huge surprise for being in an industrial area), the variety, flavors, and value were AMAZING. I really like the cordyceps flower, red date, and goji berry broth as my base, which is basically an elevated chick/pork broth. They have at least 10 other bases to choose from without and "premium" charge like other places. Classic sliced hotpot meats are ordered through their QR code menu, but mostly everything else is self serve. All I really eat off the ordering menu is beef belly so I get the rest of my proteins from the self serve buffet. They even have frog legs!! Which I'm still working up the courage to try but how often do you see that as an option for ayce?! For $29 +tax & included gratuity, they have a very large and high quality selection of food, as well as a large drink selection if you're feeling boozy of if you're into milk tea (additional cost), and pop is bottomless. They're also open until midnight, however they stop seating people past 10:30. Parking is validated for up to 4hrs in the complex's attached garage. I'd also like to note that this place is NOT halal or allergy friendly! Because of their self serve buffets it's really easy to cross-contaminate seafood, seed, and nut items. I also wish their seating was more comfortable, the chairs and benches are unpadded wood, which are beautiful but can be a little uncomfortable if you're staying for an extended period of time. Tbh the place and selection are just so big that if I went on about every little feature I'd probably max out the character limit for this review, lol. Just take a look at the pictures and videos I shared and you'll get a good idea of what to expect! 1000000/10 You won't regret coming here. ( )و

For me, this was my first time at a Liuyishou and it was quite the eye-opening experience. The selection of meats and veg to boil is impressive! Since my dining partner was well-versed in Sichuan hot pot I got to try some interesting items for the first time, like intestines and bull frog and had no problem with these novelty items since I had someone to recommend them and guide me through the process. She said some people will watch a clock and time some of the more sensitive items to make sure they don't overcook, although we didn't bother and focussed on stuffing our faces as quickly as possible. In addition to the free lemon water, we ordered a pitcher of Sapporo for $27 seemed a bit on the pricy side for a non-import brew. (Sapporo owns Sleeman which is in Guelph.) The ayce price for two was $66 (all prices without tax/tip) plus a two-flavour soup base was another $20 on top of that. So it was $153 with tax/tip for two of us. (Lunch is cheaper) For the two flavours of broth we had one super spicy Sichuan, and the other a milder bone broth one, which offered a nice contrast to try each broth with the various items. Since the atmosphere is bright and airy, without much for sophistication or decor, this would not be my first choice for a date night spot although the food is impressive, the vibe is not overly romantic and pretty basic. I can see now why it was not very busy that evening in May when we went with a price of over $150 for two, it was a good experience but you can do better for an intimate atmosphere at that price point.
