I've always seen Big Star Sandwich company come up on my Uber Eats app and have always wanted to try them. Today, being yet another "forgot to pack a lunch" days, I went ahead and ordered a Number 02 combo (Turkey). Order was delivered to my workplace via Uber Eats. Unwrapping the sandwich, I could tell that I was in for a treat. From the soft bun, to the fresh crisp veggies, and the portion size of their regular, I was already jonesing to take my first bite. On this particular sandwich, I opted for the extra additions of cucumber, onions, and Mack sauce. The veggies crunched beneath my teeth and I bit into the sandwich and the soft, textured bun ripped cleanly. This is a great combination of sensory experience in a tasty sandwich; the light flavours of the sauces mixing perfectly with the savoury/sweet Turkey meat? It was just on point. A hint of bacon flavour came through as this sandwich does include it, and the tomato shined just enough striking its perfect balance within. The guacamole was pleasant although not exactly flavourful, but added a nice creamy texture to compliment the sandwich overall, so no points lost. I'll always order to have avocado over not so I'm not complaining in the least. The overall combination of light and subtle, dare I say "clean" flavours, sat within a textural matinee of crunch, crisp, soft, squish, creamy, savoury, sweet, and salty? I'll definitely be ordering this one again. I also got a side of a water, and an Elmans Big Pickle. Not much to say about either besides they're what you'd expect them to be. Next time I order from Big Star, and there *will be a next time*, lll make sure to dine in, so I can get the whole package upfront. If their decor is anything like their dishes (clean, fresh, balanced, deliciously paired), they'll have a definite repeat customer as far as I'm concerned, not that they don't have me hooked already~! 10/10, will eat from again read more

My wife and I visited the Big Star Sandwich shop in Langly for lunch. I had a corned beef on rye and she had a roast beef. The food was fine, although the portions were not very generous. The ambiance was underwhelming, very "cafeteria", and the sandwiches seemed to be made to a formulaic standard. This was no Dunn's where a corned beef sandwich is an exercise in history and extravagant art. Still, the meat and bread were fresh and the counter service was friendly. However I am still looking for the perfect corned beef sandwich. read more

Beautifully crafted sandwiches I had the turkey dinner and it tasted EXACTLY like the Christmas dinner. The only thing that disappointed me was that it was cold. I have no idea if they press their sandwiches or if that's even an option as no one asked me, but if they don't, they definitely should!! I had to do review on this place for my coworkers wanted me to try this place again. I found this place to be good but not excitingly great. I ordered a small and I found that it did fill me up. If you are looking to get bullied by the staff then this is the place to go my wife and myself ( both professionals in our 50's ) went for the first time last week. My wife was excited to try the sandwiches as I was. After placing our orders the staff disappeared and after sitting down for 15 minutes we thought that maybe we missed our order being called. As it turns out they never started to make the sandwiches when I inquired the young worker asked when I had ordered and if it was by phone the previous day. As an avid sandwich lover I had been interest trying this place out for some time. This ain't no subway for sure! The buns they use have a great crispy outer layer with a fleshy fluffy middle. When you bite into the sandwich you're hit with the crunch of the bun and then a crispy fresh bed of finely chopped lettuce that, quite frankly makes the sandwich. Their ingredients I find to be equally pleasing however I would like to see them use a firmer cheese as at times (depending on which sandwich you get) can be a little heavy on the mayo. But overall, a good experience for a quick lunch that won't make you feel bogged down and leave your skin feeling like you were just in a grease trap. read more

I'd been to the Big Star in Burnaby so I was excited to hear one was opening in Surrey. The sandwiches are to die for. Love the #18 (turkey, bacon and habanero jack) but the beef dip is great as well. I prefer the turkey to the beef but they are both slow roasted. They also have veggie cold cuts which is a nice change from most places. Bread is thick and delicious and there a bunch of unique condiments. The owner is usually working in the day when I go there and he is really nice. I recommend you pre-order if you're going for lunch while you're working as otherwise it will be a bit of a wait. The only downside to this place is the lack of parking but you can park at City Hall and walk. Highly recommend!! read more

Not too impressed with these Sandwhiches. Got a no.9 and 3 no.4's because there was no pulled pork. These Sandwhiches were pretty gross. 6 people not impressed. The beef was not slow roasted like the you state. $3 for a .50 cent pop, which I didn't bother getting course of the price of 6 I could buy a case of the pop. I get you need to make money but no wonder why you have no business. Oh and I was told they were 12" Sandwhiches. These are 8" for $14 each and $11 for half of that and then saying there is kid sizes which were half of small for a couple dollars less. First and last time I go there. I will not refer you and I will tell everyone I know not to go there. read more
