If I could give less then 1 star I would!!! My wife and I used Big Red Moving Co. this past weekend and it was a DISASTER! First and foremost they were 2.5 hours late (I could have looked past this) they started our move at 5:20pm, and were already exhausted from the earlier move that took "8hrs for a 2 bedroom" - this should have been my fist sign. When they first started loading my belongings they started with boxes rather then furniture. I figured they had a plan, though it quickly became apparent it wasn't going to work. Our living room furniture was loaded next, couches on their sides, and marble end tables stacked on top of each other- cracking the corner of one. At this point we were 2 hours in (7:20PM) just with the boxes and living room furniture! When they made it to the Master they wrapped the dressers, but dismissed the head and foot board-resulting in scratches in transport. Our king mattress was loaded in the middle of the truck making it impossible to load more items. At this point I decided to call who I assume is the manager to relay my frustration. I called 4 times, left 2 messages and sent a text with no response. I asked the Mover Gary to call and he too had to call more then 3 times. There is no way these 2 guys could be professional movers?! Come to find out, one of them was only a helper who "does not work for them!" Who tells the customer this??? I decided to have them stop loading items as they were out of room on the HUGE squeaky moving truck and quickly approaching our budget. Leaving the job incomplete. At this point its 9:23 pm (thank you to the pictures I took) when we arrived at our new home to now unload. They argued while they were unloading, they couldn't figure out how to work together to get our coaches inside (having already moved them from the apt) THEN the helper had a curfew of 11:00pm for where he lived. Since Gary was unloading (the employee of Big Red) he asked if I could take his helper home so he wouldn't get kicked out of his place. This being a homeless shelter in down town! Once again being understanding I choose to help the guy out, and took him there. When I returned Gary was done and I needed to speak to the "manager." I was going to be charged $602 after Jason taking off time for the constant breaks his workers took. Again sharing my experience thus far with the manager I was told he could only take off $150.00 per his boss. $150.00 based on all of this???? What standard does this company hold themselves to if this is acceptable! I had to get my own Uhal to go back on Memorial Day weekend to get the rest of my belongings and pay Big Red $452.00 for substandard work! It was agreed that I would be reimbursed for the Uhal, and called by the owner Tuesday when he returned from the holiday with his family. Today's Tuesday and I called both Jason's cell number and left a message, called the office (the mailbox was full) and sent a text. Only to receive the reply at 1:39pm of "Sorry I am on a moving job I will call you in a moment." It's now 9:17PM and still now call. This is absolutely unacceptable!!! From quote to move, this was a DEBACLE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! When calling for a quote, I told them we were in a 3 bedroom home which was staged for sale (sparsely furnished) and one 10x20 storage unit and into a 4 bedroom home (two story). He asked "well will it all fit into an 18 ft truck?" (are you kidding? That's YOUR job, you are the professional!) He decided it would be fine and quoted me $800 for two men for the full day. On the day of the move the two men showed up and went to work. I had elected to move some of my smaller, fragile things myself so I packed those up while they wrapped and loaded the items into the van. Mind you, they didn't pile the van very high, or very sturdy. Once it was full we headed to the new home...with a considerable amount of items still in my home and storage unit. Once at the new home they proceeded to move things in. They tried to leave some of the heavier items in the garage, which I disagreed with and made them move them to their proper rooms. The real issue, however, is what they did to my $2000 king size bed. At load in, they sat it on its side. Once they took it off the truck, not 2 hours later, it had a bulge. They took it upstairs, it got caught on the ceiling overhang once ON the stairs, and they SHOVED until it went through. The bulge got bigger. They said it would settle out before the day was over so I believe them and they went back to work. Finally, it became apparent that I would have to hire them for one more day, and in talking with their boss they were afraid to tell him about the mattress. So I had to get on the phone with Jason and told him that I found it unacceptable that my mattress had a bulge in it. He first said he didn't believe me, and then tried to tell me he has seen things like this before and it happens with "cheaper mattresses". I sent him a picture and he then told his men he has a furniture doctor who can fix it for us, so we sent our mattress on the truck with them to go back to their warehouse and get fixed. The men came the next day and finished the move, which ended up costing me a total of $1600. It is now 15 months post move, and I have no mattress and no compensation for it. Below is a timeline of what transpired post move. - One week after, Jason is not returning my calls - 10 days after, I call him from a different number and he picks up. Tells me his furniture doctor can't fix it but they are calling the manufacturer and wants me to send him my warranty information by email. I sent it that day. - 20 days after move, I call him and email him multiple times, and he finally responds he is getting nowhere with the mattress company so they are going to keep trying but also work on getting me a new mattress. Including depreciation (the $2000 mattress was about 6 years old) they would find me something for around $1000. - 25 days after the move I am calling the mattress company myself because Big Red can't get them to answer. No word on new mattress. - 30 days post move, I ask Jason to take some action one way or another because air mattresses are getting more and more difficult to sleep on. He gives me the phone number of the guy in his claims department to talk over my options - 31 days post move, turns out this "guy in his claims office" does not work for Jason at all and is instead the owner of another moving company in Tallahassee. After hearing my story, he tells me I should probably take Jason to court, but warns me that Florida law essentially states they owe about $60 for the mattress because replacement is like 20 cents/pound or something crazy, so I would have to prove "damages" to get compensation. No problem, I have the doctors' bills and days off work due to over a month of sleeping on air mattresses. - 34 days post move I finally hear from Jason that he will replace my mattress with a new one. I specified new because I wanted to be sure, and he said yes. My mattress, mind you, is a thick pillow top king size mattress. - 36 days post move, the movers show up to my house with my "new" mattress. It was thin, no pillow top, with stains. When pressed, the guys told me it was actually brought out from the warehouse because it was one they had left over from an old move. - 36 days post move, Jason is no longer answering calls again. I refuse the mattress and ask for my old one back (intending to use it as evidence when I take him to court) - 40 days post move, Jason says "look I am not the one who even bought it, here is the number of my boss who did" - 40 days past move I get hold of the "boss" who knows nothing about the move or the mattress, clearly tried to cover that part, but when pressed admits he is just a driver, Jason is the only one with a company card, and that he was asked to cover for Jason - 41 days-55 days post move, I call every day and get no answer - 55 days post move I consulted a lawyer, and purchased a new mattress read more

Never even got to use them for moving services. Gentlemen on the phone was rude. Seemed irritated because I asked for any discounts. Apparently they do offer 10% off for AAA members. He was very annoyed with me as if I was bothering him at his job. The thing is, I was a very high level executive for a moving company for many years. I am now retired. He had no idea I am moving 6 more 26 ft box trucks. This is just the first round to move me into an apartment until I can find a home to purchase since I am not familiar with the area. I rather live there a bit and figure it out at my own pace. Since I have a working knowledge of the industry, I know what to ask and I have very reasonable expectations. I was able to negotiate a much better rate with another mover who is very reputable. The gentleman initially was very professional and I was going to use their organization because of his professional demeanor. The comfort was more important to me than the price. Once I asked for any type of discount. His entire attitude changed. He became annoyed, aggressive, and just rude. He acted as if I was lying to get a lower rate. I literally just asked for $20 off the total bill when I was going to spend over $1,000 and I always tip very well. Each one of the 4 movers would have received at least $100 a piece. Just because I'm cost effective doesn't mean I can't afford your services. I asked for the service fee to go from 39.95 to 29.95. I felt this was very reasonable. His offense to my question was so above and beyond unnecessary that I won't even use them now. Silly, emotional, and unprofessional and you just lost a huge job. You would have unloaded a total of 7 26 ft trucks and you would have packed and moved me into my new home once I found one. You never know who is on the other line. You should also listen to the customer instead of talking over them. You would have heard me state, I know how the industry works and this is a much bigger job than just this round alone. I read your other reviews and you proved them correct. I see now you wouldn't honor what you stated on the phone. That is why I asked you to document it in writing. Perhaps, that is what made you so aggressive. I was not questioning your integrity, you are a stranger to me. Anything, I personally have promised anyone I was happy to document it in writing, because I am a man of my word and I have integrity. I was never offended by anyone who asked me to document something. The reason I was never offended is because I had every intention to do what I stated I was going to do. I would only be offended If I did not intend on following through. So clearly, you were not being trust worthy. Anyway. That's my 2 cents, hope it gives other's a little insight. ******UPDATE******* This moving company has had a family member continually contact me over and over. She keeps giving me a sad sob story that this guy is a a hard working family man. Her name is Ashley R. And she also posted a fake review for this moving company. If you look at the history, the only positive reviews are mostly all from the same time frame. This guy is a total scam artist. I never responded to Ashley, and she keeps sending me messages, to remove this review. Who would do that, let me ask you this. Would u have any vested interest in having some stranger take down your post for a bad experience? No, that just would not make sense! And would you persistently send them request over and over and over? This guy is a complete con artist. Read all the hidden reviews. WORST MOVING COMPANY! They broke my furniture and then promised to replace it or refund the value of the furniture. After I paid them, I never heard from them again! They ignored all of my phone calls and e-mails. After breaking my furniture they then took it back with them. THEY STOLE MY FURNITURE. Plus, it took them 4 hours to move my furniture and I only have enough furniture for a one bedroom apartment. My boyfriend did most of the work by loading and unloading the truck. I drove to their Jacksonville address only to find out it's an empty office space. This company is not licensed nor insured with the state of Florida. I hired Big Red Movers at the rate of $95.00 an hour, ( they were late by 30min) a move that should have taken 5-6 hours took 8-9 hours, thank god nothing was broken but I was quoted 5-6 hundred $, it was $900.00 plus by the time the driver said he was done. I was so disappointed when they pulled up with a trailer not a truck, then it took two trip to get the majority of our things out of the house.so now I have to get someone else to help me finish up the job that was not completed by the Big Red Movers. I talked to the guy Jason about getting a discount for the incomplete job and he said I had to talk to the driver that he (Jason don't handle that $$$$), and low and behold I was told the same thing from Brian..... WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER! An appointment was scheduled & confirmed between 12-1pm. After waiting until 3pm with no. Intact from the movers, called numerous times I finally got an answer was told they would be there at 5pm. At 5:30 called to find out they would come the next day at 9am. Arrived 10am in a truck too small for the job that didn't look the beautiful red truck advertised but like a Fred Sanford truck! The driver confirmed everything would fit on the truck. Not so! After loading the truck to capacity I was told that they would only take cash (which is NOT what was confirmed prior). I was then threatened if I didn't pay in cash they would take my things to their warehouse & charge me daily!! Cameras showed worker napping on the job. A 2-3 hour job was 5-6 hous & $100s more! read more

After showing up hours late with no apology, they broke several pieces of furniture after the move. I have been forced to repair it at my own time and expense because Big Red's refuses to call me back. They failed to even bring a simple wrench to take apart our bed - after they told us they would take apart what they needed to for the move. Then they continued to charge us for the time it took for me to go get one, while they sat around doing nothing. I have called the owner at least weekly for the past 3 months, and he refuses to even do me the courtesy of returning my phone calls. I've even written letters explaining the problem in detail. After one letter, an employee called back, but he said he didn't have the authority to authorize an insurance claim. He claimed they had insurance, but if they do, it's puzzling why they won't call me back. I even went to Big Red's address, and no one would come to the door. PLEASE DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY !!! I've use lots of moving companies ,and this was by far the worst company I have ever used. I'm in the process of suing them now They gave us a flat rate quote, to move to the house and one storage unit Then at the end of the move they didn't get the storage unit, they had plenty of room left in the truck. I took a picture. And then when I confronted them they said no problem we will get it in the next day or so, they never did. Then we asked for a refund for the storage unit payment that we were making in the meantime while they were supposed to be making plans to move the storage unit. Never received that payment. Also damage brakes in front of the house that he said he would send someone out to fix never did that And now won't return my calls. So now I'm left with no choice but to file a lawsuit, I will collect. For loss and damages and inconvenience. They didn't show up on time about 3 to 4 hours late, they don't have actual trucks, they rent them from U-Haul Trust me on this one don't make the mistake read more

On September 19th 2016 we reserved Big Reds Moving company to do an office move for AVi Logistics LLC. The arrival time was supposed to be between 1700 and 1800. When that time frame had passed we proceeded to contact Jason, the manager of the company and he said that he had a mover back out and that he couldn't help because he had to put his child to bed. At first we explained to Jason this is unacceptable. Than after a few hours a gentleman named Brian called us and he was told that Jason had asked for his assistance and he had 3 individuals come out to assist with the move. The 3 individuals arrived at 2230, 4 and a half hours late for their arrival window. During the initial loading some of our furniture highlighted in the manifest was damaged. When the trailer was loaded they asked us to pay for the partial move and said we must pay for 3 workers. That amount added up to $698.75. One of the gentleman that arrived was very experienced and the other 2 were not. One of the 2 helpers happened to be a pregnant female. In this instance she did nothing because she was 1. Unable to lift anything and 2. Outside smoking the whole time. The female helper happened to be the girlfriend of the 2nd inexperienced helper. When they asked for partial payment I explained to Jason that we did not receive 3 helpers we in fact only had 1 and a half. Jason said he understood and said that he still had to charge me and that the owner Bobby would call me the following day to adjust the rate. The owner never called me and I am still currently waiting for a call back. Then at the delivery point the 2 men dropped the red desk off of the truck onto the ground. Then after that had already happened they still proceeded to bring the damaged desk into the office and dropped it into an interior window again damaging the desk more and shattering a window. After everything was finally in the office I was told that we were not to be charged for the second half of the move but my credit card account says otherwise. We were still charged an additional $322.50. The following day I called Jason and he said he would take care of everything. They even came out and assessed the damage and he again stated he would replace the desk, the window and pay for the other damages. It has now been a week and no one has gotten back to me. He was very affordable as other quotes I got from other companies were ridiculous. The 2 movers Chad and James were great as well! Very personable and used blankets on all my valuable furniture. beware! do not use this moving company! details below. to say that these movers are professionally trained is a gross misrepresentation. not only did the movers damage my brand new furniture, my dining room table and legs, and home decor items bubble wrapped and packed in a box labeled 'fragile', one of them stole from me. without permission, one of them entered a room they were not to be in and stole my jewelry (specifically gold and diamonds) i had left in there to personally pack and transport to my new place. he gave himself away by leaving the toilet seat up and even admitted to his manager that he was in there. despite the aforementioned and the fact that it was only myself and these 2 movers in my old residence that day, this mover is not being held accountable and still works for the company. he clearly has done this before and will likely do it again. the manager, jason, is not working with jso in regards to the mover in question and has done nothing to replace or compensate me for the items damaged by his 'trained' movers like he said he would. in fact, he's actually dodging my calls, as well as calls from jso. don't be fooled by the positive ratings - jason sends links via email after he's confirmed that you're satisfied with your experience. he promises gift cards after you've posted your positive rating. i have the email as proof. ***nothing like a little unfair competition, false advertising, and enticement to 'boost' the ratings of an undeserving business and mislead consumers. *** read more
