Property Damage & Negligence The most devastating part of this move was the complete disregard for my electronics. I provided professional TV boxes with foam corners; instead, they shoved my TVs into two-piece boxes with the screens exposed. Now, both TVs are ruined. One screen is visibly shattered, and neither unit will even power on. They took "professional" equipment and treated it like trash. 2. Price Gouging & Bait-and-Switch This company practices predatory pricing. I was quoted $579. Once they had my items on their truck overnight, the owner demanded $1,260. I felt completely extorted. He offered a measly 10% "discount" when I complained, but the final price was still double the estimate for a job that wasn't even finished. 3. Chronic Unprofessionalism The movers arrived 1.5 hours late and spent the first 30 minutes on the phone with their boss. Despite having a reserved freight elevator and a storage unit only 4 miles away, they moved at a snail's pace. They went "radio silent" for over an hour while I waited for them at the storage facility, later claiming their phones "died." 4. Incomplete Work & Reckless Packing * Abandoned Items: They left numerous boxed-up items sitting right by my apartment door, forcing me to deal with the move myself after paying them over $1,100. * Storage Disaster: They packed my unit so poorly that I can only open the door six inches before items begin falling out. Sentimental items were crushed and broken because they lacked basic stacking skills. 5. Zero Accountability When I sent the owner photos of the damage, he spent 30 minutes on the phone defending his "professionalism" rather than offering a refund for the damaged TVs or the unfinished work. He is a smooth talker who takes no responsibility for his crew's incompetence. I had to hire another company to fix the mess he made. Save your money and your sanity. This company is dishonest, overpriced, and will break your expensive belongings.

But on the unfortunate side, they damaged our bed pretty severely on the footboard, scratched our wood floor prominently in two locations, and literally dropped our piano on the floor, causing significant damage to both our baby grand piano and to the floor. They had indicated previously that they have experience moving pianos. What is most distressing about these errors is that they were not going to disclose any of that information. I had to call it out myself. At that point, they acknowledged it was a "bad day" and usually they don't have these issues, but I cannot in good faith recommend big Gary's movers.

movers beware moved from FL to IL w/ Baymeadows movers JUL 2026…read more i'll give them 1 star for showing up early. however, if you don't let them pack it and something doesn't show up like several boxes and they were priceless family items and kitchen items. they will not cover the cost to replace any items. to top it off...the semi driver hit our mailbox post and damaged it. they would not replace it. he lied about hitting it. we moved into a new build, mailbox post was brand new. Very sad that boxes are tagged and can't make it to their destination.

We were eventually told (after we had to make contact) that the truck never left Fl until 6/24 (day it was supposed to arrive at receiving facility in PA). We were then told that the truck would arrive in PA Saturday, June 29. That date came and went. We received confirmation the day before that our delivery would be 7/2. We were contacted the morning of that truck never arrived at the receiving facility. On this anticipated delivery day, we took off work and my mother actually drove 3 hours to help us. We received that call 15 min before she arrived. We also took off work for the original delivery date of 6/25. We have been living without furniture, cooking supplies, and a decent place to sit at the end of the day besides camp folding chairs. The guys who came to move us were the best we ever had. They were respectful and so careful with our belongings. Unfortunately, the great experience ended there. UPDATE: Truck finally delivered to local facility last night at midnight (7/2). Local movers arrived this morning (7/3). So far, all boxes are smashed. All heavy boxes were on top of lighter boxes. Should be interesting to open them. Thanks BayMeadow Movers for making this process a nightmare. FYI we have moved many times before with other movers and have always had a wonderful experience.

I called them and emailed about the damage and sent photos. I was called back with no apology and they went into straight defense mode. Blamed me for the damage they caused. Tried to say my photos proved I moved the table that caused the damage. I can't move heavy things due a back injury and spinal surgery I've had in recent years. It took 3 men to move the table, but somehow I did it on my own according to the company. Now the money I saved, I will now need to put into fixing the floor. Avoid this comapny! I was moving by myself and had limited space in my car. Paul told me that there would be no more "going thru boxes until I was in my permanent residence. Well, I was in my permanent residence but could not tell Paul that as he hung up on me! I ended up waiting a year and 7 months to get the rest of my belongings. Paul is the rudest man I've ever dealt with! From the first meeting to the last phone conversation, he had zero empathy for what I was going through, spoke to both my friend and I as if we were stupid and almost like he didn't have time to discuss the process with either of us. Condescending is an understatement. The disrespect and lack of communication from Paul and his son, Andrew, to my friend, the homeowner, during the process of restoring her home is inexcusable! I wouldn't recommend this company to restore a dog house! They have an "in" with the fire department, they just show up...have them board it up and hire through your insurance company!
