movers beware moved from FL to IL w/ Baymeadows movers JUL 2026. i'll give them 1 star for showing up early. however, if you don't let them pack it and something doesn't show up like several boxes and they were priceless family items and kitchen items. they will not cover the cost to replace any items. to top it off...the semi driver hit our mailbox post and damaged it. they would not replace it. he lied about hitting it. we moved into a new build, mailbox post was brand new. Very sad that boxes are tagged and can't make it to their destination. read more

My belongings were loaded from my old residence on 6/18. We were given a delivery date of 6/25 after receiving a window between 6/21 and 6/25. That date has come and passed. We were eventually told (after we had to make contact) that the truck never left Fl until 6/24 (day it was supposed to arrive at receiving facility in PA). We were then told that the truck would arrive in PA Saturday, June 29. That date came and went. We received confirmation the day before that our delivery would be 7/2. We were contacted the morning of that truck never arrived at the receiving facility. On this anticipated delivery day, we took off work and my mother actually drove 3 hours to help us. We received that call 15 min before she arrived. We also took off work for the original delivery date of 6/25. We have been living without furniture, cooking supplies, and a decent place to sit at the end of the day besides camp folding chairs. The guys who came to move us were the best we ever had. They were respectful and so careful with our belongings. Unfortunately, the great experience ended there. UPDATE: Truck finally delivered to local facility last night at midnight (7/2). Local movers arrived this morning (7/3). So far, all boxes are smashed. All heavy boxes were on top of lighter boxes. Should be interesting to open them. Thanks BayMeadow Movers for making this process a nightmare. FYI we have moved many times before with other movers and have always had a wonderful experience. read more

We were queued up for the move from hell, with delays, a damaged future apartment, and a hurricane hitting Florida all in the same week. But Baymeadows stepped in and made it all work, no matter what life threw at us or problems that arose. Not only was the office team incredibly helpful navigating all the major changes and shifts in our schedule, but the team doing the move was professional, efficient, and incredibly dedicated to the move. Do Not Use Them. They promised to shrink wrap my leather furniture. And then I caught them coming down stairs with my leather sofa that was rubbing against the stair railings until I screamed to stop and wrap it. They wrapped it alright and saw the damage and didn't tell me. They moved it into my condo being renovated and set against the wall so I could not see. We had to stack furniture in two rooms due to renovations. When I was finally able to move furniture I saw damage with paint from stairs along the rear on the back of my sofa. I've been in contact for several months for restitution. They are dishonest. Do not do business with them!!!! read more

Through the course of my business career where I relocated and moved at least 7 times for business, this was the absolute worst moving experience we ever had. Poor communications, unfilled promises, goods placed in warehouse storage for two weeks that we were never told would happen until moving day, delivery to NC over two weeks late, multiple items broken, large items lost (never recovered or reimbursed for) and finally, the small parts box was missing which meant nothing could be put back together or reassembled. This included our dining table, multiple headboards, décor tables, baby crib, etc. After being offered a ridiculous small amount for insurance claim, we appealed and they offered a small increase but nothing close to what it should have been. I would stay as far away from this company as possible. read more

We recently (a month ago but we've been busy!) hired Baymeadows Movers to help us move from the place we were renting into our first home. After calling around to several moving companies and Jax and having no luck, we had Baymeadows Movers reccommened to us by multiple friends. They were curteous and professional over the phone when scheduling our appointment, and the price they quoted was lower than several others we had gotten online. The day of the move they showed up right on time (maybe even a few minutes early) and were so efficicent that they moved everything out of our 999 sq ft 3 bedroom and into the truck in about 30 minutes. We only had a couple miles to go, but all in all (with a coffee and donut break) they had us moved out and in by 10:30am - around 90 minutes. The workers were incredibly friendly and nice, and purposely tried to be fast so we could pay the minimum charge. Honestly, I cannot reccommend Baymeadows Movers enough for Jacksonville people needing help moving. It was well, well worth the few hundred we spent to have our entire house moved in under two hours, with nothing damaged. We will absolutely hire them again in the future, if we need movers. read more

These guys were fast! Showed up on time, packed my stuff up and drove from St. Augustine (Palencia) to St. Mary's GA. Unloaded my stuff there, and the whole process took about 3 hours!!! Wow. My experience so far hasn't been a good one. If this were not a military move I would be changing companies! We've had an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks now for 2 o'clock today. I get a phone call at work asking me to come right now and I was not able to. I expressed that I was at work and I was leaving to go directly to this appointment. Chris McCreary was 25 minutes late to the appointment. He did not so much as offer apology just he would call when he was on his way. I work 50 minutes away, he messages mr 15 minutes late that he was still 10 minutes out....so image of I had waited to drive 50 minutes with that 10 minute window. I would suggest if you were time it means anything to you find a different mover! read more

Just used BMM to move us 20 mins down the road. On the day we had the estimation the guy showed up without a mask even after we told them on the phone we had a new born in the home. Made a joke about like we were supposed to find it funny. The day of the move they showed up with a truck too small for all of stuff. they stepped on boxes that said glass, they were using our packed boxes to reach up higher. so when they left for the new place we were told they would come back for the rest of our stuff since it was just 20 mins down the road. When we got to the new house they seem mad that they would have to go back to get the rest of our stuff. They put all the boxes in the dinning room and became upset that we wanted them to put the furniture in the right rooms( all rooms were labeled for them. Guest, Master, Baby's room etc.) At the end of the day they were rude and nasty. We said we had checked that everything was here and they were free to go and the lead guy said " I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A FREE BLACK MAN" Will never use again. read more

The worse move of my life. They were five hours late getting to the pickup house, the crew didn't show up so there was only a driver and partner, two people for a 4200 square foot house, 22,000 lbs of furniture. To try and keep on schedule, we wrapped and loaded furniture for over three hours until the additional crew of two showed up. We all loaded until after midnight. And then to top it off they held our furniture hostage two days later because they said they hadn't received payment, which is a lie because I have a confirmation fax at 4:31pm the previous day for the signed credit card authorization form and copy of my DL and credit card, front & back. The driver and his partner Vic were good guys but at the mercy of their unethical bosses. Moving is a scam all the way around. Their person in charge of finance, who is Teresa is a nasty woman, who instead of listening to our grievances, told me to basically to shut up and lets move forward. And to top it all off, for all of our hard labor and inconveniences, our "thank you" was to charge us an additional $500. We were told by the driver on the morning of the pick up that because of the size of our load, we would be the only load on the truck. When they found out we were counting on that, they then changed it to say they had another load to pick up and they had no idea when our furniture would get to the final destination. The truck was packed to the gills and I took a picture right before they left. There is no way they could have fit another piece of furniture on that truck. So they basically made up another pick up story to get us to pay $500 extra. They are scam artist and beware. The move was brokered by Colonial Van Lines who just kept reciting their contract and refused to help until we got in touch with someone who could actually help. It is still undetermined how they will compensate us for our troubles, but we still hold out some kind of hope they will do the right thing. STAY AWAY FROM BAYMEADOW'S MOVING AT ALL COSTS. read more

Hi, Googled them after the move but was unable to find an online profile to do a review. Much was damaged during the move including a flat screen TV which I believe was intentionally damaged. I will never do business with them again. Big notches out of expensive furniture and a huge BROKEN SCREEN knot in the middle of my 40 inch flat screen that was rendered useless after the move. Not worth it to use them. Also management or owners or whomever I spoke with are not real nice either. read more

Beware. We moved a four bedroom house with this company. They showed up at our house with a truck I knew was too small. But they went ahead and started loading. And guess what. It wasn't big enough. They ended up renting an open bed trailer and moved us across the state of Florida with truck filled to the brim and the trailer. It rained. Need I say more. We had a broken antique rocking chair, a broken side table, a cracked door on a sideboard, and a broken room divider, because the truck was overpacked and overloaded. They said they would pay for repairs. So far they have not responded to us at all. They worked hard but not very smart, and we paid the consequences. read more

The first move went well except that the truck was too small and they never finished my move. I was stuck having to hire them again, pay another $100 truck charge, to complete the move. I requested the same crew for the second move but they sent 2 workers and a supposed "crew leader" but I could tell he did not have the experience, and there were lots of questions and lots of breaks in between the move. A lot of time was wasted while they discussed how to move. Towards the end of the move, they carried out my moms' sewing machine and I noticed they did not shrink wrap it. They said they were out of shrink wrap and moving pads. It flipped over and broke when they carried it out. I discovered this just as I was paying them and wrote it on the slip. Later I saw the springs were broken rendering the sewing machine table completely useless. I complained to Rita, and then the owner Michael got in touch with me. He sent Sandy, the furniture repair person. She cannot fix it. Dishonesty alert: They "round up" the time at the end of the move. First move, they rounded up 20 minutes, he explained it was easier for him to calculate and "it was only 20 minutes." Second move rounded up 15 minutes - he said the same thing, "it is only 15 minutes." Unfortunately I used a debit card and cannot dispute the charges. Do not ever use a debit card for these type of transactions because you have no recourse if you get cheated or abused. At $135 an hour, I feel cheated. For the sewing machine, I feel abused. I intend to sue for fraud and for the broken sewing machine. read more

This company was chosen by the DOT to move us after our house was taken through eminent domain. The movers damaged the fence and kitchen floor at the new house, among other things (including losing a vintage desk). They repaired the fence and found the desk, but we are still waiting for the replacement of our kitchen floor. It has been about 3 months now, and I'm extremely annoyed with their excuses about why the damage hasn't been repaired. We won't use them in the future! I recently moved from Jacksonville, Florida to as Las Vegas, Nevada. I was informed ahead of time that the move would take 10 days. Well after multiple excuses, it finally showed up in three weeks. In addition to that, 10 boxes were missing and they said not their problem, need to call the company they subcontracted the job to. Awful, avoid at all costs as there are many more reputable and professional movers in Jacksonville, Fl. Do not be fooled by the North American Van Lines logo indicating they are an agent. I have moved with NAVL twice and this local mover is not worthy of the logo. They lack the professionalism and integrity that NAVL demonstrates. Furniture was damaged and owner refuses to take responsibility for damage caused by their movers. Movers admitted to damage and took pictures to show owner. Owner claims pictures were taken before move even though background in pictures is at new location(caught in a lie).They also low ball estimates in terms of hours required. My estimate was for 6-7 hours when in fact the move took 9 hours and 45 minutes. There were no changes to what was being moved when the estimate was provided. This is a common tactic among dishonest moving companies. Look elsewhere. read more

If you are looking to make a move, I URGE YOU NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY. They are deceitful, untrustworthy, and do not provide the customer service that they promise. The owner aka Big Mike is all talk. I was given particular dates that a driver would pick-up and the driver never showed up and the crew from the moving company showed without notice and no warning and when I called to speak with the manager, they were clueless about what transpired. The crew new more than the moving organizer. They knew that the driver was not showing up and that they were taking my stuff to the warehouse. Finally I got that resolved to find out that the date my stuff was suppose to arrive they could not secure a driver or atleast he did not have enough space in his truck to take everything. Mike stated that he would send one of his trucks to make sure that I received my stuff on time. The scheduled date of delivery and the date the stuff arrived was two days later only to find that half of our stuff was missing. The Baymeadows movers did not even have the decency to notifiy me. I found out from the local moving company who did Baymeadows a favor. I finally received other half the following day. I've moved several times long distance and they all seem to have their issues but the service that Baymeadows movers provide is by far the worst. I would really advise you to stary away. read more

Never seen a company harder on furniture than Baymeadows. Never wrapped the furniture in the house but said they would do it in the truck. Banged things into walls, broke chair legs, broke butler tables and dragged the mattresses into the truck getting crap all over them. We just used BayMeadows movers s last weekend to move us Friday m Saint Augustine to Tampa. They showed up on time and went to work immediately. They inventoried everything. Wrapped everything with care and some how T got it all on the truck. Charles and T are the best!!! Very professional and caring. Delivered the next day exactly when they said they would be there. Unpacked our items in record time and everything was there. I would highly recommend these two to move my home again. read more

I moved interstate and worked with Baymeadows and this was a better experience (strangely enough) than working with them for my final and local move. This process was overpriced for what I had and there was no follow up after the move. I had a strange experience with the main guy on a 3 man team, who suddenly became surly and strange at the end of the all day process. I was told that their truck broke down twice on the way to my new house and that it had leaked oil onto my driveway. This guy told me he would come back on Sunday to clean the oil off the driveway, and he kept insisting to me that Sunday was his day off. I communicated this to the dispatcher but the company never called or followed up on this at all. They do not seem to care at all if their customers are getting good services or being ripped off by their movers. This relates to the local moving people, not the interstate scheduling which I believe is separate. I would not use the local people again, only slightly better experiences with the interstate but the interstate moving crew was very much better than the local crew. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT, under any circumstances, use Baymeadow's Movers. They are crooked, dishonest, and practice unethical business practices which violate Florida Laws. My family recently used them to help pack and move our home; downsizing to a new home around the corner in the same neighborhood. Baymeadow's Movers preys on senior citizens in stressful situations to take advantage of them, rob them, price gouge them, verbally assault and attack them, and verbally threaten to hijack, damage and discard your belongings unless payment is provided immediately; leaving no choice but to abide by their price gouging and unethical behavior. The movers premeditate their plan against a moving deadline and wait until your belongings are locked and loaded on their moving trucks; leaving no room for discussion or other options. They have you forced up against the wall with no option but to do as they demand and pay. When the furniture was delivered to the new home days later, many of our belongings had been lost and stolen. Three oriental rugs were stolen, parts of the beds were missing, and two other boxes of personal belongings were stolen. read more
