Ocean movers moved my belonging about 3 miles at the most on mid September. My new freezer that I purchased in July received a deep scratch and removal of the paint and the foot on an heirloom family hutch was gouged. I was told that an insurance claim had been submitted the first part of October. I have requested information on this claim (3 email-1 text) and have not received a response. read more

We called and were able to get same day assistance unloading a U-Haul moving truck to my daughter's apartment on the 3rd floor. George and Cory arrived early, communicated clearly and hustled quickly to unload the moving truck. They were gentle with all of our belongings and placed all of the items in specific rooms as instructed. They completed a 2 hour job in a single hour and also moved items for us into a storage unit. They were both professional and kind. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Ocean Movers moved our family twice over the past year and did outstanding work both times. The work included disassembling, and later putting back together six bedrooms plus the typical common rooms. The inventory included nearly 50 boxes of fragile items including nice plates, delicate glassware, framed prints and paintings: Nothin was broken, which is quite amazing given how much glassware was involved. ***WARNING****Ocean Movers of Jacksonville Florida (Basar and Amber Sahbudak) has been used by our family (and extended family) many times (10+) over the last few years. There have been minor issues that we've gone to the owners about (hole in a wall, scratched table, ect) and they were handled. Not perfectly, not always super easily, but yet, handled. This past week Ocean was set to move us again. We were given an hourly quote, a reasonable one we felt knowing they weren't moving much furniture. Not only did the three man team spend over two hours of the five on break but during those breaks they played with our lawn equipment, blowing each other with blowers, sat in the barn, sat in the truck, played on their phones, played with my children's soccer balls & goals, and nerf guns, but they lied and claimed it took them an hour and 40 minutes to make a 35 mile drive(but knowing what I know now, I bet that lie was the owners and not the movers). Also keep in mind the only furniture they were loading during this five hour quoted period was one couch, one tv console and one desk. The rest was all a garage - boxed up. (Minus stick equipment and bicycles of course) There was no house on the location they packed up. This is the absolute WORST part of my review, allegedly there were ants on one box in the garage, instead of setting it aside they decided to place it next to my garage (built out of pressure treated barn wood) and burn it. Yes, you read that right, they burnt it and it's contents. Before my barn manager could run down to see what was happening the box was ash, as were the contents, my son's artwork from PreK3-8th grade. No big deal, right? I had to run the dogs and cat to be boarded over night so I hired someone to watch the movers while I was gone. She was so sad to have to tell me she left them for only a moment (to get them more water) to return to some burnt paperclips and one half burnt art project she saved. Thank God they didn't catch the barn and remaining equipment (including diesel fuel cans) on fire. I have pictures, much of it was on camera and again, an employee's first hand account. Obviously, I called the owners immediately to explain how unhappy we were. I asked for new movers the next day and a flat fee due to the amount of down time the movers took for "breaks". I was understanding to an extent but at $150 an hour ($450 for the first two hours) I don't think more than 10-15 minutes of each hour should be a bathroom/water break. The owner was rude, unprofessional and just mean. He called me a liar, said I left (even though I left a paid employee in charge), claimed I should have told the men to get back to work, said the burning of the box was 1. "Not a good choice but what's done is done and no sense beating a dead horse" 2. Changed his mind and said the box burning never happened - and then gave me a flat rate that was $200 MORE than the hourly rate. I have much of this in text. Then to end this horrible review, delivery day comes, the next afternoon, and the owner refuses to let new crew even open the truck to unload until I paid in full(cash or card only). Hmmmm how many times have they been paid cash and avoided the taxes? So I had no idea what the state of my belongings were, or if they even were my belongings, until I paid the new flat rate, $200 above the initial quote. It's not about the $200. It's not even about the movers fooling around and taking double time to load and padding the bill a bit - it's the way it was handled by the owners. He actually hung up on me at one point and said he was taking the loaded truck back to the warehouse when I refused to sign the form saying all my belongings had been delivered & were in good shape BEFORE they unloaded AFTER I had paid his new amount. I know this review is long but I really wanted people to understand the full story as I've been one of the many local residents that have recommended this local company for years. First word out of his mouth....2x the estimate, yes I added stuff....and he needed $1000 tip. Called the office and asked for a supervisor to validate the increased cost...he barely spoke English...kept asking me to sign stuff without filling it in...would not inventory..complained to the original contractors to tell me how to validate upon arrival since I was concerned he was gouging...even corp was not interested in my concerns, I asked what kind of operation they are running......yes I was not polite...so he goes into the street, takes my $1000 zelle and throws my stuff into the street...not sure if he took other stuff...and broke my $7000 sectional. I had to call for a police report to sue to get my total $1500 back. Hired another company and got it at $1000 less even getting a premium to come the next day. No reason for this place to have a DOT license. read more

Ocean Movers sent an inexperienced person to do our two bedroom apartment move. It is an upstairs unit. The first thing the young man did was grab our three most fragile boxes, load them on a dolly and proceed to thump thump them down the stairs. He lost control and the boxes went flying. The young man also fell down in the process. While I truly feel horrible that this young man was injured, more care with incredibly fragile boxes, either by hand carrying or working in a pair, could have prevented the entire thing. He then claimed it was because one of the boxes was too heavy. The other two movers on site lifted it and both said the weight was perfectly fine. The heartbreaking thing is that those boxes contained the only irreplaceable items in our home. They contained my husband's half sister's hand painted pottery that he inherited not a month ago when his father passed away and all of the glassware that my mother and grandmother gave me. The owner, Bassil, got on the phone with me. Instead of expressing any sympathy for what we have lost and can never get back, he started cursing and saying he quits, he won't deal with customers like me or employees or anyone else, he's closing his business. The only way I can describe his behavior is that it resembled a temper tantrum. He then had his other two guys unload what little was on the truck and refused to finish the job. He also said, if you're upset about your things, just sue me. I cannot provide strong enough words of caution. Please do not use this company. We had to find another company on a moment's notice, and thank God we did. We will never get our family heirlooms back, and if you look at their website, they don't even have a button for claims. This is a dishonest and unprofessional business and no one should endure being put through this stress and strain, only to be yelled and cursed at with no customer service at all. read more

Beware of this men! He work for Ocean movers as the cordinator (S)/and the guy that comes out to your home to give you an estimate. We have been in the military for 23 years so we had our numbers of moving around. Husband just retired so this was our first move without using the military, it was The Most awful move ever!!!! We decided to do a flat rate. They loaded 2 box trucks up not all of our stuff could fit in it so the movers said they would have to come back for the rest. I told them if I could just give them my key when they come back for the other item. Because I wanted to be at my new property while they were unloading it to show them where it needed to go. The main mover guy said it was fine. We were at my new property halfway thur the cordinator came to collect the balance and was very rush in making us paid now, because he said he had to go. Knowing it felt wrong in my gut because the job wasn't completed I paid anyways. So the cordinator took another mover with him to my old place to pickup the remaining items that they left behind. 45mins later he told me he didn't get the key to my old property and couldn't get in. So my wife rush back to that property its a 45mins drive Fleming to the west side. After the cordinator(S) loaded up the remaining items that was left. He called me and told me he wanted additional fee for this!!!! $115 more for his time... Blaming us that he had to make another trip and that he forgot to get the key to the old property. He said he didn't agree to that arrangement, ( don't forget he wasn't there for more than half of the move, he left a head mover to make decisions) and that is who we discuss and made arrangements with. He said it was fine. By the end of the move he didn't want to release our items to us, we had resort to call the cops to handle this situation. We even have it recorded. The movers work really hard our only problem was the cordinator. Don't bother trying to call the home office they seem to have his back. read more

Worst experience I have ever had. Still feels like a nightmare. Literally left with our stuff because I told him not paying for the second day until he's done since it's by the hour. (Because I said in front of him to my wife if any charges not valid we can dispute since was going to pay and advance so I could get my stiff) Had to file police report and drive him cash to get my stuff back. Owners are a nightmare to deal with. There is another review just like this I wish I would have saw before using them. He will say oh your racist, no it's called provide good customer service to your clients. Next day go to use grill and broke piece on it so wouldn't work, one of our canvas picture damaged. Do not use this company save your self the headache wife will sound nice on the phone but she does not disclose all the extra fees for as much as we paid it should have been white glove service. Beware...this company will tell you what you want to hear, but will not stand behind what they say. Ocean Movers sent an estimator, he told me whatever Ocean Movers packs, if it breaks it will be covered at full cost of the item. Amber the main office person on the phone confirmed about coverage of what they pack. She also assured me there would be no breakage because they are professional, experienced packers and movers and licensed and insured. Most packing I did myself but decided to trust Ocean Movers with my collection of porcelain eagles that goes back to the 70's and other precious items. Ocean Movers severely broke two of the biggest and best of the porcelain eagles. Along with the foot and a beak off two others. Also, they put huge gouge marks on one of the wood end tables and other various damage. I only reported the two porcelain eagles and was told to send pictures. Pics were sent and nothing...since then I've been told they have trouble reaching me and if there was damage it had to be reported before the movers left my home. That's a good one...how are you going to keep movers there while you unpack everything!?!? From there was told to contact Kenny the head mover and driver. Told same, send pics, done and same again, told unable to reach me. So he then sends a text saying he found porcelain eagles online. Why would I want 2nd had items . Then a text saying he can offer me $75.00 for the two broken eagles. These eagles cost over $150.00 each and were a collection. What happened to professional and licensed and insured? Beware! And...if giving a gratuity to the movers maybe consider mailing it After unpacking!!! read more

We have moved multiple times and have used multiple companies to move. However, never have we had such an amazing experience than with Ocean Movers. The four men that loaded our stuff (Kenny, James, Onur, Maurice ( I hope I spelled his name right), were very professional, very careful, and quite speedy. They were extremely careful to ensure our items were not only packed correctly and securely, but that they would arrive at the other end almost 8 hours away, in the same condition as when they were packed. What a testament to the outstanding level of service that Ocean provides. We also do not want to forget Amber, who was always available and kept me up to date with the entire process from when we engaged them to the end. Lastly, they were on time, at both ends, (actually quite early for the delivery), and quite efficient in getting our items into the other house. Fantastic Service. Couldn't have had a better experience. These guys are Top-Notch...You never know what you're going to get with moving companies, so I was ready to be bold with them once they arrived, just in case. However, with Ocean Movers, I never needed to be tough because they did everything they had promised. They were on time. They were clean. They were friendly. They're pricing was exactly as I was quoted over the phone. They WORKED QUICKLY. All of my furniture was moved without being damaged. If an estimator shows up and decides to not jot anything down, I guess this is a good indicator that they are not reliable. These movers were not professional and I would not recommend them. They may be good for small places, but not big moves. They were not honest about their services and I even informed the estimator, Rasheed (and also did the move) about needing two trucks and that one 26" truck will not do it alone. He even assured me that one truck will do and if another is needed he will provide one for us. Sure enough at 7p on a Sunday, he informed my husband that it will not all fit in the truck. And he didn't provide another truck! Wow, the worst situation to be in on a Sunday and the next day is a holiday and we weren't sure if U-Haul would be ope and the movers were going to our new place at 7am, while we were stuck with 100 more items to load. I would highly recommend spending your money elsewhere and get a good reliable mover for your move. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Very displeased in the manner in which they conduct business. The movers damaged walls and ceilings. Also, while lowering my couch from a 2nd floor, they let the couch drag against the guard rail ripping the fabric. After I expressed to them my frustration, they said they would not continue with the move - and LEFT - leaving my couch in the driveway. I wish I could post photos of the truck pulling away with my damaged couch in the driveway. Plus, they made me sign payment authorizations for them to unload my belongings - or else they threatened to take to storage where it would sit for thirty days. To top it off, the Owner of the company did nothing but support the movers - no offer to make things right. STAY AWAY!! Completely and utterly shocked at how some companies operate. read more
