I've been a huge Big O fan for decades now. And now one more reason why! I drove a dealership loaner car over from Denver. All of a sudden I realized one tire had dropped 10 pounds of pressure. I drove immediately to Big O and asked for help. Mike was amazing. Jumped on it right away. They found not one but two nails in a tire. AND they realized the sensors in the loaner weren't properly aligned, so the tire that I thought was in trouble was actually another tire. I was in/out with a FREE tire patch and boosted air (gonna get super cold) in less than a half-hour. So impressive! And they were delightful and informative all the way. Big O has topped out of its efficiency. I've bought tires here for years,but this time I had to make three trips to get my tires. First trip the computer was down, I set around, finally the tech took my tire order and said he would send it in and tires would be in tomorrow morning. No one called, so the next day I checked back in , my tires were not ordered, so ordered them again. Still no call today, I called twice before I got anyone to see is my tires were in. I bought a new Landcruiser over in Denver, drove it home to Grand Junction and decided that I needed to change out the underwhelming OEM tires for something a little more fitting for the trails that this truck would see. I called up Big O, ordered some BFG A/T KO2's and a couple of days later they showed up and I got a call telling me as much. I headed in, got the tires swapped on, and drove off, but strangely my TPMS sensors were not registering... hmmm. I drove back and Mike checked them, and found that on the install one had been broken, no biggie, they ordered the part from Toyota and said they would install it when it got in. A couple of days later I get a call that the sensor is in. Drive down, they pop it in, and.... still can't get the TPMS system to register the tires. Well as it turns out the Toyota Landcruisers are a bit cagey with their TPMS sensor programing and most scan tools won't do the job. Did Mike bail? No! He called the tool maker as well as the local Toyota shop. He set me an appointment at Toyota to teach the car the sensors (a service that Western Slope wanted $100 from me to do) and said they would cover it. In the meantime they had the tool sales rep there, got him on the phone with the tool manufacture looking for a solution. An hour or two later Mike calls and says that they think they have a solution. Drive down, he sets the scan tool for a 2 year old lexus sedan, and voila - problem solved. No trip to Western Slope needed. Now was it awesome that a sensor got broken during the install? Not so much, but these things happen. What is awesome is that they admitted to the mistake, fixed the problem, which caused another problem, and bent over backwards to fix that problem. They didn't even charge me a cent. That is pretty awesome customer service. These guys are worth your money if you are in the tire market. I know it is my go to tire shop from now on. read more

After a really bad Big O Tires experience in Spanish Fork, UT, (bought 6 new tires for RV), we stopped here in Grand Junction. We had an excellent experience here that saved Big O Tires reputation for us. Mike was so kind and helpful as were all of the service people we encountered. They replaced the blowout of the brand new tire we got in UT and put new valve stems on all of the tires (which should have happened in UT). PLUS, we were in and out of there in about 2 hours. Couldn't be happier. I told them I wouldn't post this review until we had driven at least 250 miles since that's how long it took to get the new-tire-blowout from the 1st install. I have a couple problems with this big o. I purchased new tires from them the other day and also got an alignment. One of my hub caps went missing and the steering wheel isn't straight even though they did the alignment. When I contacted them about the service,I was put on hold and when the guy finally came back I was told they didn't have my hub cap and there wad nothing they would do about it. If you want to be lied to about wait times, service done and have them do a poor job, go ahead and go there. I will never use this big o again. read more

Not only were they incompetent, they were amoral dishonest scum too. Stay away! Sit back and check out this nightmare tire patching experience: The clown who fixed my flat broke my TPMS sensor when he took the tire off the rim (it was probably like witnessing a monkey shag a football). Did he take responsibility for it at that time? Nope. Despite it no longer attaching correctly anymore he somehow jammed it back in temporarily with the hopes it wouldn't fall apart until I got far enough away that I wouldn't turn around (I was just passing through). About 20 miles into my drive the sensor came loose from the valve stem, started rolling around in my tire and set off my 'Service TPMS' warning message. I turned around and went back. Did he finally take responsibility for his mistake at this time? Nope. About four of them acting like deer in the headlights said that they couldn't figure out what on earth it was. They feigned that their gadget suddenly couldn't communicate with any of my sensors and that the controller must have coincidentally failed shortly after having my tire patched. They would not simply take the tire off and check their work. Instead they sent me off to the Jeep dealership to have them check all my sensors with their proprietary scan tool. Wtf kind of customer service is this?! So, no surprise, the competent guy over at the Jeep dealership's service department quickly determined with a scan that all sensors were indeed working except in the tire Big O just patched. He said my controller worked fine as well. He said he could tell that there was no sensor in the valve stem just by flicking it. Wtf, didn't the clowns over at Big O know that?! Why did I have to drive across town and beg for quick help without an appointment to figure this out?! I drove back across town to Big O and told them there was no sensor in the valve stem and that it must be in the tire. Did he finally take responsibility for his mistake at this time? Nope. After four of them huddled around the tire whispering to each other for a bit they promised me that it wasn't broken and that it didn't need to be replaced. It just "wasn't clipped on right" previously. They next jammed the broken sensor back in a little better this time and sent me on my way again with the hopes it wouldn't break again for a couple hundred miles and that I wouldn't turn around again. It didn't...until I got all the way to Denver. It broke again and fell back into the tire when I hit a rough expansion joint on I-70 in Denver. Luckily I found an honorable Big O in Aurora that fixed their mistake and gave me a new sensor for free despite having no obligation to do so. Oh, and they discovered that they didn't even seal their patch and corrected that for me too. They didn't even patch it right! What a nightmare. What a dirt bag thing to do to someone. I was put through all this so that the cost of the broken sensor wouldn't come out of the incompetent tire tech's paycheck this week. In attempting to pass this cost on to me he was essentially stealing from me in the most cowardly way possible. These people are moronic amoral scum. Drive on your rims if you have to in order to avoid getting your tires patched here. This is how a simple tire patching went. Can you imagine what would happen if you got your oil changed here?! read more

If you want your brand new set of Enkei wheels you spent $1200 on to be manhandled, carelessly marred, and chewed up by the people who mount tires here, be my guest. Also managed to ruin my machined aluminum hub-centric spacers in the process. You may be surprised to find a nug of marijuana in the interior of your car afterwards, as well. I'm quite sure the manager here kept the wheels his employees marred up in spite and anger after they were hesitant to replace them (not sure what they're gonna be able to do with two scratched up, used hyper specific offset wheels with an Enkei specialized coating since Big O doesn't sell them nor will the coating be able to be fixed). They also refused to keep the paperwork/stickers and boxes that came with the wheels, which is additionally unfortunate. I'm terrified to let anyone other than myself work on my car, and this place did not alleviate any of those fears. What a straight up Zoinks experience. read more

Driving California to Maine currently and wanted to get a quick oil change, alignment and tire balance and rotation.. Went in at 7am right when they open.. They don't start alignments until 8 first of all. Left and walked down the road and had breakfast, came back around 8:15 and they hadn't even started with the oil change. By the time they finished the oil change it was 9:15. Came and grabbed me at 9:45 to tell me that I need lower control arms, which they are a little worn, but nothing terrible. (I usually do all my own work so I do know what I'm talking about). Bought the car and it's lowered so my camber is a little off and they wanted to charge me 300 per side for a camber kit to fix that. Tires are about 75% tread and the sales guy tried to convince me my tires won't make it the rest of the drive to Maine the way it rides now. It doesn't pull to either side, it drives very nice as is, I was only going to be sure I didn't ruin the tires because it's such a long drive. I also asked them to check on my washer fluid pump, which never happened. Waited 2 hours and 45 minutes for just an oil change, not cool at all. Oil change was a little expensive also, 7qts synthetic was $105. I won't be returning to big O ever again. read more

This was my first encounter with the Big O Tires Brand. The management team at this particular location was AWFUL. Alec & Mike (the managers) were both rude, defensive, and unapologetic throughout my entire visit. 1. Wheels were promised to arrive at their drop off location @ 9:00 AM (Did not arrive until 11:00 - two hours later - when i made it a point to wake up early and drop them off at 8:00 AM) 2. Removed all stems from my car before noticing they were "one time use" and charged me an additional $60.00 to replace them all. 3. One tire experienced side wall damage, mechanic noticed, informed manager, manager forgot to inform me, and the DAMAGED wheel was re-mounted onto my vehicle without any knowledge it was damaged in the first place. The management team here is unsatisfactory to say the least. It is a shame that franchise locations like this one give the name brand such a bad name. read more

Not real happy. I have spent a good portion of my life as a mechanic. So why have it done here? I dont have a spin-balancer! One thing that annoyed me: I was having a regular rotation when I was told that ALL of my lug nuts had to be replaced. When I asked to see the old ones, it caught them off-guard. "They are rounded off.", I was told. Well they most certainly were, actually. A few anyway. Some lugnuts are made with a soft metal (crome plated) sleeve over the regular unsightly bolt. When this falls off, it makes the bolt's size just a little smaller. What happened? Well a trigger-happy mechanic did not take the time to notice the difference in size and used the air-wrench to take the smaller nuts off. Not once, but 5 times at least. Rounding over the smaller (uncapped) nuts. This I knew. I looked at the mechanic, who had difficulty looking me in the eye, and asked how much they were. "$4.00 a piece." Really? Can I replace the ones that are damaged, keeping the others? "Nope, they all have to go." Really? Because your mechanic is not able to size a socket properly? I pay for that?! This started a little bit of an argument. Mostlly with the manager (who spoke good english) and not with the mechanic, who is now quietly standing in the back of the bay. The cost of each lug nut now became $2.00 each. What a deal! Pressed for time to return to work, I told him to put them on. Why not? They make my rusted rims on my '89 Ford Ranger look so much better. Finally, chrome to polish. I always check the security of the lug nuts on my vehicles before I drive out of the parking lot. I carry a torque wrench and sockets in my toolbox in the back. What a suprise! Found 5 random nuts still loose. I don't think it was on purpose. Who would want to sabotage the family vehicle of a combat Marine? Just wouldn't be sane, now would it. read more

I was curious what the tire rotation pattern was on my AWD so I marked one of the tires and took a picture of it (so I wouldn't forget) before dropping it off at Big O tires. When I went back to pick it up they told me they had rotated the tires but they were in the exact same place! I showed them the picture (with the time it was taken) and they got mad at me for not trusting them?!?!? All of the Big O tires in Grand Junction are owned by the same person so I wouldn't trust them. What good is automotive service if they are going to lie about what they do? I was lucky. If you drop your car off for an oil change and they don't do it, that will really damage your engine. read more

I have an issue with three brake jobs performed on the same vehicle. I had a severe vibration because the front rotors were warped and needed to be replaced. I paid for new rotors twice and the Manager Mike Ozimek 970-243-4040 said they were new both times. The second repair was 10,000 miles and third replacement was 6,000 miles later. On the third time I took it to the dealership to get another opinion. The dealership replaced the rotors and gave the old ones to me. The rotors were obviously old and had been turned before. I took the old rotors back to Mike at BigO and he told me to my face the old rotors were new, eventhough he measured a loss of over 1/10th cm in 6,000 miles. I do not believe this and will not go back to BigO for this reason. I believe they charge for new rotors and do not do the work. Beware! read more

Took my car to Big O & they looked at it; did their eval & said they had no idea why it was leaking; "must be bleeding around the rim," they said. I had to ask them what they even meant by that. So, called around to see if any other shop would have a rim. Nope. Took it somewhere else, & wouldn't you know they found a NAIL in the tire. Patched it; no more leak. Thanks Big O--you had ONE job. I was in this place once before and thought it was ok.... For a Big O shop. So I brought my car here after hearing a funny sound coming from the rear. I had just driven into Grand Junction from San Francisco a day earlier. Was planning to return in a few days and wanted this resolved. Came back an hour after dropping off the car and they said they found nothing wrong with the tires or bearings. Left a few days later for SF and after a few hundred miles, the sound became louder. Stopped to check and found one rear tire blown. After mounting the spare, I could see that the inner part of the tread on the blown tire had worn completely through the core! This shop should have seen the wear when they supposedly checked the rear tires. Which I doubt they ever did. And if they had and didn't see this, it is even worse. Sloppy at a minimum. Otherwise, utterly irresponsible to the point of placing customers in danger. Will never go into a Big O again. read more

I had to get my car towed to Big O Tires because it was not starting. The people I talked to on the phone were very helpful with all of my questions and concerns. They were able to get my car up and running again way sooner than expected! When I went in to pay they welcomed me with great customer service and helped me out with any further concerns. I bought a set of four tires from Big O Tires and as soon as I drove on the highway the rear tires started to vibrate a great deal. I called the Big O and I was told that I can go to any Big O to have the tires properly balanced. I visited the next available Big O store where I was told that it would take possibly three days before that Big O could take my vehicle in, thus rendering the Big O's nationwide coverage bogus. I ended up going to a different car mechanic and paid (again) to have the tires balanced. I was hugely disappointed at the poor workmanship and bad customer service at the Big O stores. read more
