Traveling in an '87 Grand Wagoneer pullin' a 15' Aladdin trailer when I died at the Utah/Colorado border, looking at the "Welcome to Colorado" sign. I called AAA and, after some negotiation on jurisdiction, got towed into Grand Junction, Co (30+miles). The driver, whom I never met, suggested Smitty's as the place to go for an 'honest repair job'. I'm broke down - not sure what's wrong - no clue what a place named "Smitty's" is going to say or do. It's hot - gotta' go for it. The head mechanic took me in, let me park my trailer in the yard, ran an extension cord so I'd have power, let me use the facilities (shower, etc.). We (they let me be involved in all aspects of the work) worked on the Jeep (on-n-off for two(2) days) in between other jobs that came in - more poor broke-down folks from the hwy. They were knowledgeable mechanics - good troubleshooters. Not sure how many actual hours we worked on the Jeep - fuel delivery problem - but the bill didn't reflect it at all - very, very reasonable considering what we went through. I took off and finished my trip - 8500 miles. Next time I'm through Grand Junction I'll stop by to say Hi, and thanks for everything.

It's heavy on my heart that I even have to write this review. Because im a good honest person. I kept going back to Jeff automotive time after time because I thought they were doing Good for me, but I found out in the end after I went to big old tires that they were not, Big o tires gave me a free inspection and told me what was wrong they did not charge $ 60 just to look at my vehicle. ( I hate that) Jeffs auto charges you $60 just to drive your car up the street to test drive. So unethically. I had my power steering done at Jeff auto March 2022. ($394.70) It's now failing. I also had my control arms and suspension and cv joints done in June of 2024 ($1574.80) and they're now failing. I also had my brakes completely done October of 2024 ($844.67) they're failing. I spent over $3020 and I took it to them the other day. I told them it was shaking and my power steering was leaking and they said we're charging you $60 for a diagnostic and would not cover any of the repair. They said none of it is under warranty. I will never go there again or recommend. Don't go here. And they don't care about your safety. Just more money to take from you and have the parts fail

I brought a Subaru Impreza to this shop in June 2026 to diagnose the cause of recurring oil drips…read morecoming from the engine/transmission area. The Antonelli's mechanic who inspected the car concluded that these drips were coming from a bad oil plug gasket, and coolant leaking from a "melted radiator" that would cost roughly $3,000 to replace. I authorized the mechanic to change the oil plug gasket and do an accompanying oil change (which they mishandled by overfilling the oil level), and then took the car to the local Subaru dealership. The Subaru dealership mechanic quickly traced the oil leaks to bad gaskets on the transmission check plug which cost $100 to fix. The radiator was perfectly fine. The dealership mechanic was at a loss as to how someone could have recommended replacing it. And the best part - oil was still seeping around the oil drain plug. The root cause of which was an aftermarket oil plug that some shop had installed years ago. It's a minor inconvenience I can live with until my next oil change. My advice - if you own a Subaru, avoid this shop at all costs. You'll be money ahead taking it to the local Subaru dealership instead.

They are good, honest, transparent and affordable - truly a small business worthy of your support and the mechanic you deserve to take care of your car. We found ourselves stranded in Grand Junction about 200 miles from home on a Saturday afternoon and almost had lost all faith in humanity after calling every single mechanic/tire shop in town trying to get help before every one closed for the weekend. All the big name corporate shops (Big O, Firestone, etc) were backed up or claimed they could not do diagnostics on our vehicle on a weekend despite providing outrageous quotes and having us stop by" just to see" before ultimately turning us away. Finally after stopping by 3 different shops and 18 phone calls around town, we found Good Neighbor Mechanics and they came through for us. This husband and wife duo are 100% good people. They are kind, honest, transparent and knowledgeable. We were told by multiple mechanics that labor would take 2-3 hours minimum and that we would have to fix more parts than we really needed to in order to get back on the road. Mike was able to fix our issue in a grocery store parking lot in 80 degree weather in under 45 minutes with out all the resources of a big corporate operation. With in minutes he was able to diagnose the issue and his wife Frankie drove across the parking lot to the parts store to get the parts they needed, which they didn't even up charge us for. Mike was very educational with me about what he was seeing under the hood and even made recommendations on things he thought I should address once we made it home. Frankie even followed up with us a few days later to make sure we made it home safely and that there weren't any new issues. Hands down this was the best experience with any autoshop or mechanic I've ever had.
