My car developed a suspicious and unsettling rattle as I approached town today on a Friday afternoon and most shops were closed for the weekend. The skid plate had come loose and was flopping around. I talked to Nick, who totally got the situation--I needed either parts and a repair or I needed a quickfix but I'd need my car to be ready to drive back to Denver tomorrow. Hello: I was happy to find a shop to service my son's car. They made the scheduling and drop-off easy and the service was performed quickly. A few months go by and the thermostat that they replaced failed. I contacted them to discuss this issue, but the car was now in the metro Denver area and not near Grand Junction. I had no choice, but to take to car to a local shop (1 .6 miles from my house) as the vehicle was leaking antifreeze profusely and overheating; There was no way for the car to make the 4 hour trip to Grand Junction. I discussed this with Scott's when this occurred initially and the Service Consultant was unaware of any process to follow for warranty other than to bring the vehicle back to their shop. After getting the thermostat replaced by the local shop I followed up with Scott's and after multiple emails and phone calls to discuss their warranty, I was now informed of their process. With this new story, there was no way to rewind what had already been repaired by the local shop. I submitted a copy of the invoice and asked for credit for the repair to be used at their shop in the future and was told that wasn't going to happen. I asked for a manager to call me to discuss this further and have yet to receive a call back after multiple calls and emails. If I could give less than one star i would. We took our van here in June to get our breaks fixed. They completed that task but while doing so left the radiator cap off in our vehicle. This lead to our engine siezing and the car loosing power steering which almost got us into a wreck. At the end of the day mistakes happen but where the real disappointment happened was their response to their mistake. They were impossible to get ahold of (we live out of town) and once we finally did they refused all responsibility (even tho the lead mechanic admitted it was their fault on site), and now have the gaul to charge US for our vehicle still being on site there. This is the most disappointed, unmoral business ive ever worked with. read more

I took my vehicle for an oil change, brought it home and it was leaking oil like crazy. I took back , of course, they took no responsibility for my car leaking oil like crazy. All they could tell me is that their master technician had taken pictures and had noticed that it had a previous leak. That's how they cover their ass. Every old car has oil stains in the pans of the car and around. Obviously, mine has oil every where after this disaster they created. When I took it back again the look at it again and added some dye and told me that it was probably going to cost me over 2000 dollars to take it apart and find where the leak was coming from. I am not for sure if he was a Master Mechanic but I' sure he was a real mechanic. After dealing with managers and district management and their bull shit I decided to take it to a real mechanic who found the problem in a couple of minutes. Please do not trust them. Go somewhere else.....I will see if they will pay for the repairs that I had to do to get it done right, but I really doubt it. Scotts is not worth the frustration I had to go through. read more

I am a contractor and I use to work on all my vehicles. I don't have the time anymore but I do understand vehicles and their operations. I've been through 9 mechanics in the Grand Valley. None have come through and done the thorough inspection I have asked for. At Scotty's I didn't ask for a full inspection but they did one free of charge anyways. While traveling from California on a trip to visit the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, the left wheel well lining on our car broke loose from its mountings and was flapping into our tire as we were driving on the freeway and scraping the road at lower speeds. We were able to temporarily jerry-rig the lining to keep it from hitting the tire with tie-wraps and bungee cords until we could get to our hotel in Grand Junction, CO. In route to Grand Junction, we called AAA road assistance for auto shop recommendations. They gave us the name and contact information for Scott's Automotive & Service Center in Clifton, CO, just outside of Grand Junction. We checked their stellar reviews so I took the car to the shop when they opened at 7:30 a.m. From the moment I opened the door, Dave and all of the team at Scott's were friendly, helpful, and service oriented. Even though they had a busy schedule for the morning with previously booked appointments, Dave said he'd squeeze us in, look at the problem, and try to get us taken care of before our 12:00 hotel check-out time. He even offered to drive me back to the hotel to wait. Before taking me back to the hotel, they put the car up on the rack to check out the extent of the damage and found that they were able to reattach the lining securely and safely. In the space of 20 minutes or so, the problem was fixed and Dave said there was no cost for the work! I highly recommend Scott's Automotive & Service Center! They're great! My only disappointment is that they don't have any shops in California! read more

Went in for an oil change on my Jeep. Usually I do my own, but my new neighborhood won't allow anyone to work on their cars. After about 300 miles the Jeep was hard to start, so I took it back. Scott's called and said I should check oil more often, the crankcase was nearly empty! "But you just changed the oil, why would I check it?" Next day they said the oil cooler was leaking. They filled with oil (no leaks on the ground during all this time). I took it to Chysler. They said there was nothing wrong with the oil cooler. I've had non-stop problems with it since then. I spent an entire day at another (well known) repair shop before moving my car to Scott's. Within one half of the day they diagnosed the issue, fixed it, and had the vehicle and myself back on the road within 24 hours. I wanted to give a compliment to a couple of your workers that helped me last night. I was driving with my daughter to take her recertification test in Delta, Colorado. Ou Excursion seemed like it overheated or something as I was driving behind a semi up the pass yesterday, i lost my power steering and brakes- SCARY, I pulled over - it became even worse. I shut down the car to let the engine cool down, checked all the fluids and they were all fine, no leaks, belt on... after awhile, I drove around the parking lot off of 70 to double-check our safety before I got back on the highway and everything seemed to be working. Brendan advised me to have it looked asap just to double-check it was safe to drive on for the long road trip. Of course it's 4:00pm on a Friday afternoon and the nearest shops within 10 minutes wouldn't see it and take a look real quick to see what might be an issue, I called ahead to your Grand Junction location to see if anybody might take a look at it after hours with some warning. Ashley and Ben were willing to come back and take a look at it when I pulled into Grand Junction area which was well after business hours. I really appreciate their kindness and willingness to go the extra mile for me. I wanted to tell you so you knew what kind of employees you have working for you, I thanked them profusely and told them I was going to pass it on to their superiors, how impressed I was with their excellent customer service skills! It turned out to be a camshaft positioning sensor/wiring..., everything works fine and has no other issues driving on it nor has this ever happened before.
