This location appears to have major problems with oil changes. I got a Groupon coupon which specifically stated for oil and filter change as well as a tire rotation. I made an appointment and came in early. After 2 hours waiting they called me and said I was next another hour later finally got car. No filter and no tire rotation. This will be disputed since I paid for it. Will never be back to this location and probably to Big O as well. They don't do what you pay for. read more

This place is the worst. I had decent interactions with staff, but literally anyone with access to YouTube could have done a better job. I went to get a new battery, which in my Dodge Journey, is a little more complicated than it needs to be. First, they damaged the paint on my front fender pulling the pins. For this mistake, they gave me a measly $100 off labor. If the paint were the only issue, the $100 would have been acceptable. However, they forgot a necessary step in changing my battery (factory resetting the vehicle) to which they admitted during a call. This slip up left my wife and infant child stranded in mariposa county in 100 degree weather, where they had to get a tow and rent a car, only to have someone decide to try and factory reset the battery (which fixed the issue, tire pro's in oakhurst are a godsend). For this issue, which big o admitted was their tech's fault, I didn't even get an apology, just a "whoops." They should have covered the rental and I should not have had to pay anything for service, since it was a disservice. Next time, I will take my car anywhere but here. read more

I just paid for a brand new set of tires from Big O. The next morning one of them was completely flat. The first employee I spoke to was incredibly rude and wouldn't even let me speak to fully explain the situation. The manager at this store refused to take any responsibility and told me I would be responsible for paying to tow it to them and then would still be potentially responsible for paying for a new tire even though it was brand new. read more

I brought my car in for a tire rotation and oil change. I was told it would take an hour and a half, but it took 4 hours. I went in to pick up my car and could see they didn't rotate my tires. They lied to me when I asked if it had been done, when I pushed they got annoyed and quoted me another 3 hours to do it. Don't go here. Lazy workers and poor customer service. read more

Despite the mixed reviews, I had a good experience here. I had just purchased a car from Carvana and this was one of the only shops I could go to with my warranty. My new (used) car had a minor issue with the air pressure, but when they looked at the rest of my car, they found a few other important things that needed to be fixed. Marcus was very helpful in dealing with my case/claim, and I thankfully didn't need to pay a dime (warranty claim went through). Overall, I had a great experience! read more

Big O in Soquel. They are great when you are considering a purchase but if you come in for service or have a complaint about past service be prepared to be frustrated and disappointed. I do not recommend this place. They will never admit they made a mistake. They will force you to wait forever for the simplest service such as 2 happy hours to get tires rotated. read more

When I scheduled an appointment for new tires days in advance, I was greeted with an unexplained hesitation. Arriving 30 minutes early I was told the wait would be an hour and a half for new tires and rotation. Two and a half hours later the alignment was still incomplete and the staff seemed unconcerned although I'd noted the extra hour wait and my need to get to work. Work completed, I left only to have the low tire pressure light come on 40 minutes later. Fortunately, it was only an oversight of a reset rather than a flat tire, but I nonetheless had to return to Big O. They did the reset and were unconcerned or apologetic about the oversight(s). I won't be returning. read more

DO NOT DO IT. I have worked in the automotive industry in different capacities for 30 yrs. The corp. office at Big O needs to take a look if this outfit operates with their desired level of competences. read more

Well I have plenty of time to write a review it seems as I'm waiting so long for them to plug my tire. Any other time I've had to plug a tire I've been told by the bloke, 'yep, we can do that' and then the tire is not propped against the wall while the techs fart around on their phones or just disappear completely. Instead the tire usually gets plugged within 10 minutes, tops. I mean there's one car being worked on and four dudes in there. What the blazes is going on in there? Are they all high? The place is called Big O Tires. Must be O as in zerO. read more

Called on a Saturday looking for 4 new tires hoping to get in by the end of the weekend. Pablo gave me good pricing and an appointment the next day. Didn't realize they offer a lot of other auto care services too. Dropped off the car for new tires and alignment and it took about 3 hours. There were a bunch of people in that day but felt the service was great and I would highly recommend this place. Free rotations with your tires too. The tires I came in for were not in stock so instead of making me come back a second time, Pablo took care of it and I really appreciated the consideration. Give Pablo a call and he will take care of you! read more

I'd recommend finding somewhere else for your tire needs. Another nearby Big O (now closed) sold me tires (that part was fine and my tires are just fine). Big O says they'll rotate your tires for free every 5000 mi, but turns out you can't make an appt to do it. I bring the car in, they say it'll take max 1.5 hours to complete; 1.5 hours later my car is sitting outside with nothing done yet. After standing at the counter for ages being ignored, dude who helped me originally swears he said it would take "2 and a half hours" (nope). They say it'll take another hour. I get it that from a business perspective you'd rather serve every paying customer over every customer waiting for a free tire rotation - but then why even offer it? If you enjoy wasting your time, I recommend this Big O. read more

Terrible customer service my wife calls in they tell her to come in we'll take care of you she gets off work then they refuse her service then he comes chasing after her after she says I'm writing a bad yelp review so they were willing to do it when she said she was going to write a bad yelp review real great work ethic big o tires. I advise no one take their vehicle here read more

Dropped car off to get 4 new tires. After 3+ hours with no call, we returned and they said "whoops! It's ready, but we only had 3 tires. Which we put on your car. So you'll have to come back another day!" Why didn't they know his when we dropped off? Or call us when they realized it? They should have called us before they put on 3 tires. We NEVER would have gotten just 3 tires. This seems like a scam. If they had called us or told us before we got them on we would have gone elsewhere. Also they did not offer a discount for our troubles. :/ Ugh. Do. Not. Go. Here. read more

Do NOT go to this place!!! After 2 visits I nearly had an accident on the freeway. My 1st visit I had a Groupon, they wanted $500 to fix 'something' and they wouldnt do the alignment. Took it to my mechanic he said they were WRONG!!! Took it back, the did 'something' (they didn't give an explanation, verbally or in writing) it was WORSE than ever!! Nearly got killed. No stars!!! Called the manager who replied to my last review. Of course he doesn't work there anymore. Car still runs like Shit. Don't buy the Groupon. Don't go for service!!! read more

Exceptional service while dropping my car off, however the experience changed drastically when picking it up. Early, the first person of contact was very helpful and courteous as he answered my questions. When it came time to pick up my car the older guy was rude, preoccupied and rushed me out after collecting my $1600 plus payment. I had planned on getting another car serviced there, but after that experience, I went to El Cerrito Midas where I felt like my business was appreciated. I won't be returning to this location. read more

My girlfriend came by this place today to help me get my tire patched. As soon as she got out of the car she was harassed and cat called by the staff. Even when she came out with an associate to have the car looked at, the technicians that work here were shouting and whistling at her. She ended up leaving and regrets even going in the first place. It sucks when someone tries to do something nice for you and ends up getting sexually harassed in the process. Also, you'd think grown men would be able to be professional, but maybe that's too high a bar to expect from Big O tires. read more

The staff at Big O are a huge asset to the neighborhood and gave us excellent service last night and this morning. Marcus and Early were very kind and helped a dear friend get air in her tire. The car had sat so long we had lost air in one tire. They generously took care of us and even recommended some other things to take care of on the car. A few months ago I had a tire replaced there. They were quick, efficient, professional, and friendly. Thank you for having such great staff at the Berkeley location. read more

Big O Tires advertise a road hazard protection to get a tire replaced if it's unrepairable. But what they don't tell you is you have to go back to that Big O store where you purchased the tire not any Big O tire store like they advertise. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at BIG O Tires. While wait times are longer than expected, the service is 5 Star. Each time I've had to visit I worked with Anthony and he is absolutely amazing. Hardworking pro bros here, it's all respect and appreciation for these guys. The corporate personnel of Big-O Tires obviously have never visited this store. This store dilutes the brand. I had ordered 4 new tires, and was told it would be a couple of hours, and they'd call when it was ready. We went to lunch and ran some errands. After waiting 3 hours, we returned to learn that they had put 3 of the 4 tires on my car. Apparently, they only had 3 in stock. Nobody called me during the 3 hours to ask whether that was acceptable. Nobody asked if they could give me a discount. Nobody called to ask if they could switch to four comparable tires they actually had in stock. The four tires cost about $1,300 installed with alignment. Josh, the manager, let me know when I picked up the car and had paid for alignment that they had 3 tires in stock. Abhorrent training. After this fiasco, I still have to expend time out of my work day getting the fourth installed and realigned. Never again for Big-O. read more

Such a mixed bag with this Big O. I LOVE the customer service and have had my tires and breaks checked and rotated for free, but the last two times I have left feeling a bit ripped off price-wise, but I'm no car expert. I would go into detail about my dissatisfaction with the service at this Big O tires location but I worry that I might develop carpal tunnel if I were to do so. What I will say is that this was the primary repair shop that I relied upon for over three years but repeated disappointment and dissatisfaction after disappointment and satisfaction I finally bid farewell to the folks of this establishment and I have never once looked back..... *I feel like it's worth mentioning that this is the first and only Yelp review I've ever posted* read more

Came here to get new tires for my car. I had an unusual request since I was getting different tire sizes than stock and I have a staggered set up with different size rims. I have a smart car, and the tires I wanted are "small" by today's standards so had to order them to the shop first. Big O seems to have pretty good selection of tires, and they appear to carry all the "name" brands (if that's something you care about). Several places I called refused to even quote me for whatever reason but the guys at Big O did what I wanted without hassling me. They also honoured the instant savings deal on Goodyear tires from their website and this - along with the Yelp deal - saved me $100. They will try to upsell you a little of course but they aren't pushy and honestly it's their job and every place does that. Just make sure your quote looks right and say no to whatever you don't want. Dropped my car off and they called me a few hours later, I paid the bill and drove off with my shiny new tires. They also give you lifetime rotations every 5000 miles, which is pretty useful. I will certainly be back for future tire needs! read more

First, my wife took in the car to get 2 new tires. They tried to overcharge her by about 50 bucks a tire. She argued and they brought the price down. The next day my tire goes flat. I brought in my car at 8am. Its 10 and I'm still sitting here. They tried to charge me for a valve they had to order to fix the tire when the valve worked fine with my old tire. I argued and explained all the issues and how they tried to overcharge my wife the 1st time and Emmanuel chuakay argued with me telling me I was wrong. The valve they order was the wrong part and they had to reorder the part. Terrible service. Terrible work. Not my first poor experience with this company. Will never go to big o tires again. I forgot to mention the worst part of all was the 3 day old cold coffee for the patiently waiting customers read more

Went in for some minor front end work and walked out feeling ripped off and upset!! After the front end work my car started leaking bad the next day !! So I brought it back and they tried to charged me more !! The moral of the story was my car was not leaking until they worked on it !! After spending another $300 it still leaks and this place don't know what there doing !! Avoid this place by all means !! There a bunch of rip offs !! read more

Went in on a Wed to special order tires from my Land Rover. The tech handed me an invoice for the wrong tires. I noted he had the wrong part number on there and he said he would change it. I dropped my car off on Thursday morning. When I came back to pick it up they had put the wrong tires on my car (literally exactly as I had told them not to). They took another two hours to take the wrong tires off, then put the right tires on. To add insult to injury, when I was checking out they tried to raise my oil change price by $25. They said they quoted me the wrong oil filter price. I told them it was a quote and they backed down. Unfortunately this a sloppy shop. Tires and oil are simple commodity. Go somewhere you don't have to look over their shoulders. read more

This place is super busy now that the Big O on Mac Arthur has closed, but the service I got today from the staff was fantastic! They got me in and out so efficiently and so nicely I don't see how my experience could have gotten any better. A++! read more

The facts speak for themselves. Had a nail in the tire and took the car to Big O. Donald Herick (his name is on the estimate) said the tire could not be fixed and had to be replaced. The printed estimate he provided for the cheapest new tire (a single tire!) was $196.90 including an unrequested tire protection plan added to the estimate. Skeptical that this was the best I could do, I left and went to Don's Tires. At Don's Tires, they patched the tire for $35. Need I say more? read more

I had to repair a leaking tire. They got me in and completed the job quickly. I recommend this location.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I say, Avoid Big O Tires Berkeley at all costs, because it's going to cost you. It cost me over $1,000 in damage to my vehicle -- which they still refuse to reimburse me for, plus several days delay when I needed to leave Berkeley and continue my trip (which cost me $$ and a lot of other difficulties). Where do you begin telling a NIGHTMARE story? The details probably aren't important... but here are some details. The manager tore the CV boot on my van (which wasn't even part of the repair requested) and then smeared grease over the tear to cover it up. I wouldn't even have checked their work, silly me -- would have picked up the car, taken their word that it was ready to go, and started my 1,500 mile trip. Fortunately, my friend crawled under my van to look things over, noticed the grease smear in an odd place, wiped it off and found the tear in the boot. I politely told the manager we found it, and he admitted that he personally tore the boot. DELIBERATE DECEPTION He agreed to put in a new axle -- first thing the next morning, so I could get going. Mid-morning, he reports that my vehicle is not ready, they got the wrong part, but they would re-order and have the van done by noon. Nope. They screwed up again -- said they got the wrong part again and the van was not ready. Finally, I had to leave. I picked up the vehicle and had to drive the whole trip with a torn boot, which you really should NOT do. And that's just part of the story. They were supposed to replace the lower ball joint, and when I came to pick up the vehicle, it was still torn apart because they couldn't get the ball joint out. They were pounding it with a sledgehammer because they didn't have a hydraulic press to remove it properly. They hacked up the ball joint receiver, putting me at risk of a major problem in the future. And, they did such a poor job on the alignment -- which was the original reason for my visit -- that I had to buy new tires at the end of my trip. I have spent months trying to get reimbursement from the local store or the corporate "customer relations" people. As far as I can tell, there are no one advocating for customers in the company. NEVER go to this place. read more

Don't normally feel the need to review... Came in for tires and brakes, came out with a destroyed driver's side mirror. Employee was upfront about the damage, but only offered a 4.3% discount on my bill. He promised to reimburse me for the new mirror and install same-day. I will update the review as soon as that happens. read more

These people have a groupon that they will let you schedule an appointment and once you arrive they refuse to take it hoping they've scammed you in not only purchasing via Groupon but also paying full price when you get there for an oil change. UNTRUSTWORTHY One of my front tires was making a sound, I figured I was out of alignment. I took it to this Big O because it was near my office. They told me that I needed four new tires, and they couldn't fix my alignment until I bought new ones. I thought otherwise and took my car to another shop, where they looked at my tires and told me I was only halfway between New and Replacement levels and that in fact the sound was from a bad baring. Had I not gotten a second opinion this Big O would have sold me four tires I didn't need and my car would have still needed fixing. UNTRUSTWORTHY read more

Call them tonight at 630 telling them I have a flat. They say they're open until 8, come in. I get there after putting on spare at 725. All three lifts empty. I have taken my 2006 BMW 3 series twice in four months, thanks to the nails flying off trucks on i880. On both occasions, I received extremely courteous, professional and quick service from Cameron and Herbert. They went out of their way to provide the highest level of customer service and were very knowledgeable. Furthermore, I was able to get in and out of there in 30 minutes, rather than go to Costco tires only to get turned away for showing up a full hour before closing (!). Tip for anyone else that buys non-Big O tires and gets more than their fair share of nails that render the tire unfixable, buy that $20 warranty that covers those cursed nails! I have Michelin Primacy tires so that was a difficult lesson learned when I didn't purchase that additional warranty first time around. (apparently, the manufacturer warranty will not cover things like nails embedded in the side wall of the tire). Thank you to Cameron and Herbert for going out of your way to provide excellent customer service , taking the time to answer all of my questions and provide timely service! read more
