Been going here for close to 10 yrs. Always kinda wondered why the price changed every time I came in for an oil change w/ the same vehicle??? Didn't make sense... I'd always bring my own oil & filter and whenever I look up on their price board it would say $33. I'd ask, "Why are you charging me $38 when your price board says $33?". They'd always say, "Oh, your car is harder". Hmmm... Then the next time I'd come in they charge me $40. Price board still says $33. The next time I come in they charge me $42, then $44, etc... etc... This is getting to be completely RIDICULOUS! First of all, DON'T have a price board w/ prices that are not accurate! And secondly, DON'T charge repeat customers different prices every time they come in w/ the same vehicle! So I called in after being charged $44 and asked the owner how much is it for an oil change for my vehicle type? He said "Let me check". Looked it up & said, "Your car is $37 or $38". I replied, "So then why is your staff charging me $44?". He said, "Sometimes they charge more if they think the car is harder to work on". So let me get this right...I'll be charged a different price for the same vehicle, same job, every time I come in? How is this fair? How is this a way to run ANY business??? You lost my business forever now! That's 2 cars every 3 months, not too mention, 2 other friends I referred w/ their 2 vehicles. You just lost 3 customers w/ a total of 6 vehicles because of these extremely shady tactics! NOT cool pro lube!!! read more

I got recommended this place by another mechanic at a local smog repair shop. These guys at Pro Lune are so great. I called them initially since I didn't know if I needed to reserve a spot; they reassured me that it wasn't necessary and that I was welcome to bring my car in anytime before closing today. I turned on my Instant Pot to start cooking my black beans, grabbed my yarn sweater project, and jumped into my broken ass Chevy Malibu. I was under the impression that it might take a while so I figured I'd try to multitask a bit. Moments later I pulled into their entry (exit is on San Pablo, so enter on 63rd) and found two vacant lanes. A friendly mechanic immediately helped me guide my car into the right spot. I jumped out of the car but then realized they didn't have a waiting room since they were so fast! The friendly mechanic had me open up the hood, wrote down my mileage, and started working on the car right away. Before I could even finish my next round of sweater knitting he came by showing me the dipstick with the clean oil he had just refilled. Everything came out to $50 even, and I was in and out under 15 min! Highly recommend for efficient and friendly services! read more

Came here for 12 years to do regular oil changes on a Subaru Impreza/Saab 92X. Apparently a 2005-era car was within their skillset. Newer vehicle? Beware! While working on replacement of the front fascia of my Fiat 500, which had been to Pro Lube 2-3 times for oil changes in 2019-2020, I found that Pro Lube had cut away part of the underbody shields to gain easier access to the oil drain, and removed one of the underbody fascia bolts in the process. Whether this was related to the failure of the adjacent bumper cover brackets is not clear, but it's still a hack that damaged part of the vehicle. Now I wonder if they bothered to change the oil filter cartridge that's also hard to access? Avoid! read more

Pro Lube did an oil change and filter replacement. I drove the car the next day and a warning light came on saying that the engine oil pressure is critically low. I took the car to a repair shop and they found that the pressure issue was caused because Pro Lube installed the wrong filter. Pro Lube refused to pay for the repair or refund the fee for their own work and suggested that I take them to small claims court. I figured that I would write this review instead. read more

I like these guys because they are super quick. They get you in and out in under 5 minutes for an oil change and for a SMOG they take under 15 minutes. They do things for you like save money for air filters by vacuuming out the one in your car to so you don't need a new one as often. Also, I ask for air in the tires sometimes and they oblige. When you leave you're in a better mood because you didn't go to a Chain Store and spend a bunch of money to either wait or get bad service. I like to support small businesses because they usually give you more personalized options. When the car needs some oil because it's losing oil they tell you and show you if the oil on the stick before you leave to show you your engine is clean! I have been coming to this operation for 5+ years and would fully endorse anybody coming here no matter the condition of your car. They will not look down on you if you drive an old car or in bad condition. From my first experience here they made me feel comfortable. read more

I used to rave about this place and was a loyal customer since 2012 for oil changes. Always quick with a reasonable price and really sweet employees, until yesterday. I took my car in, and immediately, the guy told me he was going to charge me some ridiculous amount for blended synthetic oil. I thought this was weird because they had never quoted that price. I told him the price had changed since I was last there and he snapped at me saying I wouldn't know that because I didn't have one of their stickers on my windshield so obviously I had never been there before...garbage logic, but alright. I pointed out I was driving a different car, and he said that's was the reason. Alright, but it's the same model. Then I pointed to the sign behind him and the one by the register, and he just said, that's old. At that point, I told him I would be leaving. Not sure what happened. What an impressive business. They know their work; no frills, no up sales, or BS. I arrived 11 am on a Friday and waited 30 seconds before pulling into the garage. They checked my air filter, blew out some of the dust and put it right back in (first time I haven't been asked to buy a new one). After they filled me up with new oil the gentleman walked over to show me the dipstick, perfect level! The whole change took 12 minutes. Of the three car bays at the location, only one other car was there at the time. I had called around to a few different places beforehand and Pro Lube had the lowest price. I am F***ING ANNNNGGRRYYY THAT I EVER CONSIDERED TRYING TO TRUST REVIEWS ON YELP AND GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! All the people giving them A1 reviews must not go to any other place to get their oil changed. It's sad because they were truly nice people but the fact is they don't know what they are doing and they take advantage of the fact that you may be a female and not know what's really going on. I decided to go to these idiots on a whim since I was desperate to get an oil change and my neighborhood dealership (Infiniti Oakland) had just closed and the concord dealership couldn't take me that day as they were full. So I instantly thought to check yelp since I had no idea on where to go or what to do. Looking at the reviews had a few people who were talking about how they didn't add bolts back on, or didn't add in the correct oil filter (which they also did wrong on my car!!!!) but I chose not to listen because they had so few negative reviews. I went in and quickly got my oil changed! Fast forward to today. I go to my usual (concord Infiniti) where they service my car and perform an oil change which is where all the BS they did became exposed!! They saved me my wrong oil filter these idiots put in and showed where these fools cut my oil sheet instead of taking the time to unscrew the bolts and reattach after completion. This is the reason why you feel like your service is done so quickly while you're there!! While you're taking the few minutes to be on your phone while waiting I the car, these idiots are doing everything they can to finish up quickly while doing it all wrong!! I plan on reporting them to the BBB because they in no way shape and form should be working on cars at all!! This minor cutting of my oil sheet to save them time doing my oil change, cost me over $200!!! They clean my air filter and have corrected me when I said a lesser amount of quarts for the oil change! The lovely guys at Pro Lube have been keeping mi bambina in line since '09 and it's been a solid decade of perfect performance and excellent customer service.
