Would love to give a higher rating but this is the second time things have gone wrong. First we made the mistake of using their online ordering. When the guys went to pick up the order, it was still sitting on the computer at big mikes(no one had addressed it there so it hadn't been made. ). This delayed us by an additional 30 minutes. When dinner got to the house the Greek salad didn't have any dressing in the box. Lovely. I will also mention that no discount was offered for the delay made on the restaurants side. The least they could have done is offered is a 10% off. The last time we ate there they forgot a calzone for one of our table members and she sat food less while everyone else's food arrived. This little hidden gem is one of our favorite places in the Brevard area. A little off the beaten path (not directly on Main Street but one street down), Big Mike's offers a big pay off if you take the time to find it. Wonderful, friendly service and the "Best Wings in Brevard!" (No kidding on this - we've had them Naked, Hot and Teriyaki style and can tell you they're always cooked to perfection.) If salads are more your style, try the Antipasta Salad (beautiful presentation and delicious) or the Caesar. Of course, we would be remiss not to tell you that the Meat Lover's Pizza was so delicious we had a hard time not fighting over that very last piece! Revisited since my last review. Attention Mike, your pizza is NOT that good. You need to work on the dough and sauce. Been to Big Mike's four times in the past two months and the food is still great when you can get it. The service and management is horrible. Haven't seen either of the Mike's this year but they might want to stop by once in awhile It took one hour and forty two minutes to get one large pizza last night. I should have read these reviews before going. This place has ZERO customer service. Ordered from their website for pickup. My family was looking forward to pizza. Estimated time was 40 minutes. I showed up at thirty minutes to find that they had not printed the ticket to take to the kitchen. OK. Well, it should take 40 minutes, right? No! My two options were to wait 1.5 hours or a refund. Are you kidding me? This was my second trip. On my first trip they had no wings, no salads, no calzones, no Stromboli, no lasagna, and no ten inch pizzas because they were waiting on a delivery truck. I decided to give them a second chance and now I regret it. The management is completely lacking here. Don't waste your time and effort in this place. They are certainly not providing any time or effort to their customers. read more

I have been to Big Mike's on a number of occasions and it is classic pizza shop for a College town. This past Friday, we placed an order online at 4pm for pick up at 5:30pm. The order was for 5 pizzas and two dozen wings. When I went to pick up at 5:30pm, the waitress pulled up the order and told me that I should never order online because the manager keeps the online tips and they never get them. She then informed me that the order had not been sent to the kitchen so it was going to be a while. At 6:10pm, she came out with the order and said that they were missing a pizza and we needed to figure out which one it was. When we figured it out, she said that they would put the order in. At 6:30pm, she brought the rest of the order out. I wanted to think that it was a one off mistake except that I watched a customer go through the same experience right after us which is tough to understand because the server had looked at the system right before they came in. I have a couple of suggestions - First, when you know you have dropped the ball, don't lead with chastising the customer for ordering online because you won't get a tip and then tell them that their order is going to be another 45 minutes. Second: When you are missing a pizza on the order, figure it out before you come out. Third: if you can't handle online orders, don't take them. read more

Let's start out with the positive: the food was pretty good. We got the Margherita pizza and garlic knots and enjoyed them. But the place was very clearly understaffed. A table in the front was piled with dirty dishes and trash when we arrived, and it was all still there when we left. Our waitress was pleasant but harried; she dropped off our appetizer and ran off so quickly I didn't have time to ask for plates. I wound up walking to the back and asking another server for them. Also, if it's important to you (it is to me) the servers are not masked. The restaurant in general felt a little grimy, and I was not really comfortable eating there. Great neighborhood place for pizza, wings, and traditional pasta dishes. The service was slow the night we were there, but the food was good and the beer variety plentiful. Their food is decent (if you eventually get it), way too much cheese on the pizzas though in my opinion, but you might like it thay way. The service and how long it takes is just absolutely horrendous. Horrible servers who don't care about the customer, just themselves, no apologies when they consistently screw up your simple order. Ate here twice, our first night in town and wanted something fast and to go and our last night in town because that's where our family wanted to go. But given the option, once was enough. The pizza was okay. Not great, but okay. His Stromboli was the same, he put ham in it but it wasn't something making him want it again. The Philly Cheese Steak was good, but not to make him want to go back again for it. The service wasn't that good. Waitress seemed stressed from work load and stuck to business, not too much mountain friendliness you get from most other places. But she was nice and bagged our leftovers. I'm giving them 4 stars for the meatball sando I had and 3 stars for the sanitation issues - Soap was empty in the mens room - I like washing hands prior to eating. And their sanitation score currently is 92 - Not the best. Walked in and sort of got the alien stare from employees. Ordered a meatball sub to go. Came with a bag of chips or fries. I had the chips. See photo. Sando was solid. It was cheap $6.95 + tax w chips or fries. It had good sauce and the bread was just toasted enough. I would eat cheap fast carryout from them again in a pinch. Mike's is a terrific place for Italian food and pizza in downtown Brevard, NC. Not much on atmosphere but great food and service. Portions are huge as well as tasty, and dinners come with salad and garlic knots or garlic bread. The garlic knots are great and come with meat sauce for dipping. Very good pizza as well. I recommend any pasta dish but my had a great Italian sub. Parking is across the street in a free lot. read more

We came here thinking that it would be a good place to get food. When we arrived we ordered lasagna. The waitress came back only to tell s that the lasagna was frozen. This dish came with 2 sides. We ask the waitress dido we still get the sides with the dish for the inconvenience. She told us yes. Then when we received the bill we were charged $ 10 for the sides. My sister got the ravioli bites that were not good. When we question the owner about the charge we were told that we ate the bites so we were charged the sides. The waitress claimed that she did not say that the sides would be included, which she did say. The owner told me the business was for sale and if I wanted to buy it I could . This was his answer to a simple customs satisfaction request to make things right. Clearly he valued keeping 10 more than being honest with a customer. I usually come here to get take-out, but I've sat down to eat a coupe of times. Our servers have always been really friendly, and I love the pizza and wings. The meat pizza is our go-to, very meaty and delicious. It's loud, but I like that kind of atmosphere. We flew in from Texas for my daughter's wedding held at the Pretty Place and afterwards had a small reception of about 22 people. From Texas I had no clue what restaurants would be available. I started searching and found none until I called Big Mikes. Not only were they available on Mondays but they were professional, courteous, helpful and friendly. They offered exactly what I was looking for and accommodated us for the event. They had it hot and ready for us to pick up so we could take it to our meeting room at the hotel and set up before guests arrived. Every time I called I felt I was talking to a friend because they gave me their attention and made me feel it was all going to come together with no stress. As the mother of the bride that is a very relieving feeling. I would definitely recommend them again and if ever in the area I'm sure we'll stop in Big Mikes for dinner. Attempted to eat here with my family today as we were driving through back to Asheville on a Saturday afternoon. My kids were super excited to eat some pizza!! We have eaten at Big Mike's twice. The first time was to go pizza. The pizza was very flavorful . . Yesterday we had a late lunch. Three of us shared garlic knots (12 so that we could have left overs. They really should come with a worrying. They are amazing), antipasto salad with house dressing, and 20 wings (teriyaki and Mike's Gold). Thanks to Debbie for that excellent recommendation. I think you could put the fresh marinara sauce on anything. It was outstanding. We also appreciated Debbie for taking our food order before the 2 larger parties that arrived right after us. I would recommend a beer menu that gives a brief description of each. I would have liked to see beer from each of the 4 locals breweries if that is possible. There are 2 represented. Surprisingly the food was delicious, the lettuce could have been colder in my salad but the flavor was good. Wasn't crazy about the garlic knots, sort of doughy and lack flavor.
