Every person that has helped me has been top notch. Dillards has had the types of clothes, shoes and accessories that I wear in brands I trust. So I focused primarily on this department store to rebuild my wardrobe after a major loss of weight in a healthy way thankfully. So many lines have impressed, but the Hart Schaffner & Marx stood out the most. They are definitely not the clothing line of grandpa any longer. They have lines from gorgeous hip suits to casual wear down to jeans. I focused on this brand exclusively for quality and good value. They also just got Polo Summer clothing in that I really liked. The two staff of Dennis and Lawanda assisted me. For shoes I focused on Johnston & Murphy which is a long time favorite brand. I purchased formal to casual. I received fantastic assistance from an older gentleman that really knew and loved shoes. For my wife who also has been on a health journey of her own she found less of what she liked, but did make purchases too! She received help from the manager on the second floor dresses. So big praise for Dillards as one of the last of the great department stores in Tidewater. I would hold Macy's up there too, but edge to Dillards service, wide ranging products and brands I personally like.

She always does a great job checking the clothes. She also remembers me and one of my friends that often goes with me. She treats us like we are so special. I don't mind because I think the amount of traffic they get it would be hard to keep everything organized. I enjoy the makeup and hair section normally. But the selection was kind of lacking today. My next favorite section is the food section which had minimal choices as well. They have nice luggage, wine glasses, and purses. If you're looking for gifts, they have a decent selection. Their decor is nice also. The cashier was friendly. The line is normally a lot, so expect to wait about 10 minutes or more to pay. But there are lots of things to look at while you wait to check out!!

Finally l, under the sinks is just plain nasty pipes. A metal skirt that hides plumbing has been missing for years. Let's get to positives and there are many. The staff are helpful, approachable and smile. That's big for me. Some however meh, it happens. The store is well stocked with goods I care about such as produce. Other aspects of the store are very good too! I often find most areas are organized and clean. Over Christmas I purchased for the first time clothes for my wife. She loved the lounge wear by Auden. One of the bigger positives are the store displays. They are attractive and eye catching. The recent winter display featuring Woolridge was very cool. Finally the price points are often very good. While I am sad and inconvenienced by Starbucks' departure, the shopping center offers plenty. CVS, Hallmark, and The Fresh Market are among my most frequent visits. Adele Diamond is the best jewelry store with amazing owners and fantastic staff. There are also a few restaurants and bakeries to enjoy. When I had a gym membership, I frequented the YMCA.

Sometimes there is confusion with other Hilltop stores at the intersection so keep in mind there is signage. The Shops at Hilltop are located on the Southeast corner off the intersection of Laskin and First Colonial. All the shops are collectively known as The Shoppes of Hilltop. However, the break it down by East and West. Customers have one access point off First Colonial and three off Laskin. If there is a drawback it's the bottleneck on the First Colonial side during rush. I have never had an issue with parking. The lot can be a bit hit or miss on debris. They do have a few security guards that patrol. I have never felt unsafe. The stores I frequent the most are Fruitive, Fresh Market, Bottlecraft, Bakers Crust, Cobalt Grille, Tino and Nectar. A few more in between as there are a lot of stores. My family enjoy the Shoppes at Hilltop and I would recommend working them in your rotation. Many are local businesses which is more reason.
