I love love Marshalls, I feel like I visited them at least once a week since this store at the Haygood shopping center is very close to me and it's crowded and the line moves pretty fast. The Beauty section is my fave as I can get facial serums for a very reasonable price and not have to pay high end prices. Yes, the inventory varies and sometimes you won't always find the same product every time. I will buy more than one of a product if I see it to stock up on it. The shower gels are always a bargain. I buy my dog her treats and poop bags here. I always find some foodie item for my kitchen. I should just way I always find something lol. read more

We're fans of Marshall's but this one was a semi-hot mess on Sunday at 7p. Wifey and I were hoping to score some sneakers for our 8yo son but no dice; an employee was attempting to straighten up but that's a lost cause during operating hours. Among our other must visit departments are any/all clearance sections, typically in Home goods and seasonal decor. From the looks of their floor selection, they just received a ginormous truck full of Christmas crap: Red. Holiday. Decor. Everywhere. In summary, recent trips to Marshall's can definitely be summed up as hit or miss with this trip being miss; we didn't find anything to warrant waiting in line. This Marshalls is located in the Haygood Shopping Center, right around the corner from Shawn's BBQ. As other Marshalls, they carry men/women/children apparel, home decor, furniture, kitchen items, beauty section, shoes section, and kids. I was a little more excited to check this place out, as it had 2 floors; however, I found that the variety was limited, and the clothes and the home decor were untidy/unorganized. I've found this particular location to always have a lot of variety of business work attire. I mainly go for that reason. The fitting room has always been clean without random clothes left in it and plenty of hooks to organize what clothes you will keep or not. The staff is very friendly. It can be hit or miss, but without a doubt you have to be in a treasure trove finding mood to sift and search for great finds! I like to buy my sneakers here but sometimes they aren't always the most inexpensive option. I like to search through their shampoos to find sulfate free ones. They have nice furniture items- ranging from arm chairs to stools to storage benches for the foyer. Another section I like to hit are their snacks section for their gluten free items and other healthy snacks options. Marshall's is a large department store with clothes, housewares and even luggage. Some of it is overpriced, some is a bargain. It all depends on the employee who tagged the stuff. While the store is organized neatly by department, the stuff in each department can be a little disheveled. Again, it seems to be related to the employee or the department manager. There is a large clearance section at the front of the store that seems to carry random stuff that perhaps the buyer got a really good special. I nearly picked up a really cool $9 bathroom rug that was at least 5 feet square, but I had no way to get it on the plane. :-( Paying for your stuff is easy and quick enough. Ok, this review is done for the sole purpose of relieving the very friendly staff of an over-bearing floor manager, or so he seemed to be. The store is clean, relatively small, but clean and generally stocked well. The ladies I interacted with were always very friendly and asked if I needed anything. The floor manager was nice, extremely awkward, but nice. He would stand towards the front near the entrance/exit and upon leaving the store would ask you "no luck today?" I found this very odd as I have never been to any Marshall's or T.J. Maxx were this occurs. I am certain he is doing this as he believes that it's good customer service. In actuality, we are fine with the staff the way it is. Be there if we have any questions. No need to ask if we had any luck when we leave. I also overheard him say into his microphone to "remember to interact with each customer." Again, no need to remind the staff to do that. That is their job and should be in their job description. I know he means well, but for the love of all things holy, don't stand by the door as we leave. It makes people uncomfortable. read more

It's just ok here. I used to love love coming in here to find great savings. But now it's just blah. Nevertheless, on a visit here I always check the shoe department FIRST!!! I love shoes and usually I'll leave out at least with one pair for myself or my daughter. They have a clearance section in this department and all other departments in the store. Now this is something you can always count on! ! You may not find anything but clearance always features SOMETHING. Make sure you check out items or try them on. Usually this store gets items the retailer chose not to sale because of the smallest defect...a missing button or a scratch on a dish. But if you're just browsing you'll almost find SOMETHING you could be happy with. Items in the store include but not limited to: shoes, handbags, clothing for all, sportswear, Activewear, luggage, appliances, Halloween costumes for children and lingerie. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and surprisingly it wasn't busy at all. Marshalls is a department store that offers a wide variety of great deals most likely designers product from clothing to shoes, bags, luggage, homewares and accessories. It's actually a decent kinda high end discount store. Expect that the store is a bit upside down sometime but everything is clean and well stocked. There is always staff at the entrance that greet every single customer coming in which I find it very thoughtful and welcoming. Discounted items are mainly displayed at the main entrance of the store. The flow at the cash register is very systematic, cashiers are very helpful and attentive making sure that you find everything you need. Went in there Thursday night to purchase an outfit for my daughter. She didn't end up liking it, so I came back today to return it. My first time ever shopping here, so when I went to return the items with my receipt and tags, the lady proceeds to tell me that she couldn't return an item because the tag didn't match. Help me understand how a tag doesn't match when that was the tag that came on it and I only purchased two items? Apparently the color for it was pink, but the pants I purchased with it was a dark green color. Not sure if they come pre-tagged or if you tag them, but clearly is an issue you need to address immediately to avoid any other customers from the same confusion. I'm glad I got my refund as I stated 3 times I have never shopped there a day in my life, and after this encounter, although I could point out the lady who paid me out and you could definitely view cameras to prove my point, that was completely unacceptable. I really like my Marshall's store on Independence Blvd. I visit at least once a week to get my great finds and deals. However, recently I have considering not shopping here anymore. I really wish they would STOP asking me if I have their store credit card. I have it, I am in there once a week and use it. Last week, I was asked by 4 different employees if I wanted to save money today by getting the store credit card. Literally 4 people! It Started in the women's section where I was trying to shop and enjoy my time alone. Then the dressing room attendant. Then another associate walked by while I was looking purses and asked me- and finally the cashier! Enough please! It's super annoying and makes me feel like I'm at a car lot. read more

I try to stay away from shopping too much, but helped out today with a return. Upon approaching the store sidewalk had just minor debris. An employee immediately greeted me and saw I had a return and gave me a ticket. I decided to browse a bit since I don't often go in this store. It was clean and well organized, bright and inviting. I decided to pick up a few bed pillows... OMG do they have a selection of bed pillows, soft hard down non down and tons of brands. So, it took longer than I anticipated. Went back up front and manager took care of return and checkout lady was polite, helpful and explained return. An easy process, I was impressed. Manager said have a good day as I walked out. Location of the store is great in the Haygood Shopping Center with Farm Fresh. Plenty of parking and lot was clean too. Two things that I love doing are shopping and getting a good deal when shopping. I can do both of them here! This is one of the better marshalls in the area, a bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth venturing out to. There is never the same thing twice [like most tjx companies] and there is so much to look at. I love this location for their SHOP DEPARTMENT. I go to shoes first. This is also one of the few locations that has a decent selection of fluffy [plus] size clothing that is trendy, not old lady. I love this place! read more

I had my first visit to the Independence Blvd Marshalls yesterday. I had a gift with tags to return, no receipt. The exchange transaction was easy. The store is well organized with plenty of appealing merchandise. The check out line moves swiftly with little to no wait. The shoe and beauty departments here are the best. Where else can you buy top of the line products dirt cheap other than discount department stores? What makes this store better than the others is they have a big selection and it is always organized and clean. I always check out the fragrances even if I have a lot already because when they markdown items the markdowns are too awesome skip.
