First time at Worth the Wait. I was pleasantly surprised by the operation. They do consignments until 4 PM daily excluding Sunday. They take all seasons. Plenty of parking with good signage. I found the area clean. Nice staff looked over my four items for consignment. I browsed what was mostly women's clothing and accessories. They also offer some new items. Everything was clean and no odor. Pricing was decent. Unfortunately they do not take business attire and declined my dress pants and shirts. Maybe another time I will try them. I just had a terrible experience when trying to sell something. I asked for paperwork showing what I dropped off for them to price and sell. Without hesitation, the woman ripped up my contract I had just signed, told me they have been in business for 25 years and said this wasn't for me. They had me sign a contract to protect them, but nothing to protect the customer selling when leaving items of value. Awful experience. **Edited to add after owner commented. *I was never offered a separate contract with the items on it. If that was the case I would have gone back another day no problem. *After you made it clear you didn't want my business, I tried to pick up the paperwork that I had just written all my information on and you pulled it away not allowing me to take it and then ripped it up. I would have never left my information on the counter for someone to "steal". *This is not about trust. This was my first experience with you and never in my life have I been asked to leave items of value with a business and not receive some sort of paperwork saying so. Our stories do not match up. I appreciate reviews and just left this information so someone doesn't have the same experience as myself. read more

My 93 year old mom visiting for the holidays spends a good half hour trying on shoes and finds two pair that fit perfectly. She asks the manager if she could use the restroom and was told "No, it's an insurance policy issue and I can't let you". The manager then proceeds to threaten throwing her out of the store. She even has the audacity to come out of her "hole" as she is taking off the shoes to say to my mom, that she was on the phone with the owner and still wouldn't let her use their restroom. I had to take my mom next door, order some food, so that my mom could get some relief. I use to be a frequent shopper here when it was ran and operated by a lovely woman with employees who knew how to run a business and to treat their customers. They had a public restroom. The quality of their consigned clothing at that time was a place you knew you would find something nice and leave happy and with a free caramel something that the new owner chose to do away with, guess that was an insurance issue too. read more

This consignment shop is laid out beautifully. It's easy to find your size and style. Some of the racks are separated by designer, which makes it convenient if you are looking for a particular brand. Most of the prices seemed a bit high to me, so definitely wait for the discounted prices to take effect, unless you can't live without the item! There's a good selection of shoes and an enormous jewelry department. Much of the jewelry is crafted by artisans and quite unique. They also stock nice gift items, books, mugs, pens, etc. Be sure to look in the back clearance room... up to 50-75% off. I found some amazing deals on jewelry, a cool yellow bracelet for $3, some necklaces for $4, and even a picture for $12. This consignment store is a fun spot to find awesome deals! They add new stuff every Tuesday, and they have some amazing name-brand steals! I found some gorgeous Michael Kors heels, Sam Edelman boots, and a few name-brand tops for a fraction of the price you would buy new - all of them barely worn or still with the tags on! I was torn on whether to write a review because I want to keep this hidden gem all to myself :-) But I'm a firm believer of sharing the love and promoting great small businesses. I LOVE this store!!! The staff is wonderful and so friendly & helpful! It's immaculate and they have the highest standards I've ever seen in a consignment store. I saw where a customer made a comment regarding how nobody was there to greet her, which has never happened when I've come.....which is often! I think with the pandemic, we need to give more business's a break with staff who are low at times due to illness. I'd rather have them be short handed than have sick employees (although I don't know if that was the case but I know how much they care about the customers & employees!) If Do you plan to bring clothes here make sure you know all the rules and regulations. My sister has many medical issues and I try to bring clothes in for her as I live out of state and was on a time limit and they were very difficult and would not accept the clothes because my sister had to fill out the paperwork and would not allow me to do it. I even offered to go get her license and have her sign the paperwork they would not allow that. Nothing like trying to help out the elderly and handicap. read more

I got to the store at 10:00 a.m. on the dot as I had called the day before checking on a Chanel bag I had seen on their website the day prior - since the pictures were not very descriptive I wanted to see the bag firsthand. I waited outside the door for them to open and the door stayed locked past 10:00 am. peering in I could see a salesgirl and she did not acknowledge me a with a wave or smile - I did not tap on the window or anything like that but just waited patiently- and just thought, okay, they are preparing for the day - this was when I noticed a rude statement on their door that stated, "We open at 10:00am. if you are standing at the door and try to rush us as we are preparing we will not open the door until 10:10 am". Wow. while I never knocked or tried to get their attention they had seen me and finally did open the door at 10:08 am. I told the girl that unlocked the door what I was there for and she directed me to the bag. after checking the bag, and asking a few questions I did indeed decide I wanted the bag. when I was rung up I was told that they do not offer bags to put items in but I could purchase an eco friendly bag for $1.50. Really? "I jut purchased an almost $3,000 dollar bag and you can't throw that in" is what I thought, but didn't say anything at the time except okay I would purchase one. I wanted that particular bag; however, I wasn't happy with the customer service at this time in this store at all. I've been going there for years but wasn't particularly happy today all the way around except for what I purchased. The salesgirl that rung me up was nice, but I could not believe she charged me $1.50 for a bag for a nearly $3,000 purchase of a Chanel bag. Y'all might want to re-think your practices and door statements. read more

This cute little store is easy to miss as it is right on the other side of the "auto row" of Virginia Beach Blvd. The interior of the store feels spilt in three sections. As you enter, there is a huge Vera Bradley display to your left and to your right they carry a large collection of knock-off designer bags. I hate knock-offs! I think it's strange for a retail store to carry bags that are obvious fakes. In front of you is the consignment part of the store. They mostly cater to "Mom" types but there are occasionally some gems. I haven't found a purse or bag yet that was current enough, but someone might see something that I didn't! I visited this store for a second time yesterday. They have A LOT to choose from. However, I thought the items would be at consignment prices, but it's more of a boutique. Therefore, the pricing is like a department store. A lil pricey, but some great finds. They have purses, hats, shoes (I think I saw a few), tons of clothing from dresses to pants, an array of jewels and costume jewelry. The selection is plentiful. I seriously doubt you will be disappointed. Now, the evening gowns are kinda blah. They are more on the elegant end. Like something you may wear to a wedding (mother of the bride) or a pageant. As a result, I didn't care too much for them. No clothing really caught my eye, but other shoppers were loading up. Now, the jewelry and hats...that's my thing! I was in heaven...eyes lit up like a Christmas Tree...so much to choose from!!! I did witness a shopper looking to buy something aqua (in color). The shopper asked the salesperson to verify the color... "is this more of a baby blue or aqua" The salesperson replied...it's more of a light colored aqua. Now the shirt CLEARLY was baby blue. But hey, I respect their hustle. The lady sho nuff bought the shirt anyway. I said to myself, I hope she doesn't step into the light and realize the shirt is indeed BABY BLUE in color. heheheheh. good luck with that! But overall, you should definitely take some time and visit here. But remember a couple dollars isn't going to get you anything in this store. Come ready to spend. But also keep in mind, you may be the only one with that piece of clothing or jewelry around town. The salespersons were just ok. They didn't seem talkative until I was in line making my purchase. Worth the Wait is worth the wait or the drive or the whatever it takes to get there. It's a high-end consignment shop specializing in ladies' clothes, shoes and handbags, handbags and more handbags. Actually a lot of the handbags are new. They have the store divided more or less in half: one half contains their gently used consignment items--including nice labels...everything from Michael Kors and Ann Taylor Loft to Bebe and BCBG. The prices are not dirt-cheap, but they're good considering the quality of the items. The selection can lean towards church lady side. I was in there with my daughter one day and she said, "Hey Mom, this must be the old lady section," pointing to one huge rack. But if you look closely there are is a little something for most women/age groups. The rest of the store is filled with new stuff: funky jewelry (lots of rhinestones), unusual gift items (soaps, wine holders, personal margarita kits...which every woman needs) and, like I said, purses and purses and more purses. I found them to have very poor customer service. I noticed it the first few times I went to consign but didn't really think much of it. In March 2020 I called to let them know I wasn't receiving any emails and inquired about my pick-up date. Shortly thereafter all retails stores were closed due to Covid-19, so I waited for retail re-openings and then called to find out my new date. Turns out they never closed. Apparently they emailed this information but, as I had reported, I don't recieve emails (and they never did any trouble-shooting to see what the issue is). Seems like an honest misunderstanding in a crazy time but they refused to return my clothes - stating that they were now "store property." The attitude and refusal to see how this unique situation came to be was off-putting. read more

This is an one of a kind shop which is close to Francis Land house. On a nice day, it is an easy walk from Sam's club. It was nice and mostly authentic until at one point business got slow. They did sell some fake look alike bags, but everyone knows they were fake even with the logos on. They were forced to take those off the shelf. Now they sell look alike without the logos. Worth the wait is a nice consignment shop, all of their items are in excellent condition, the establishment is clean, the racks and items are well organized, and more than anything, the quality of their merchandise is stellar. I've sold a few pieces here and I believe the cut is 60/40 but I can't remember. Anyway, its been a while but I believe it takes a month or so to receive profits from sold merchandise but this is the best place to go if you're selling high end pieces. I do recall a bad customer service experience but despite that, my overall experiences have been good. I've gotten a few really unique items from Worth the Wait and while they are more expensive than you're average consignment shop, they also have higher standards as far as what they accept. I also like that they require paperwork on designer handbags. It may make things difficult for the seller but it certainly provides assurance from a buyers perspective. I'm also really found of their relationship with local designers... they bring about eccentric, but not over the top, items. The Hello Kitty jewelry is some of my favorite. I recommend visiting if you're in the area and especially if attending an occasion where you need something but don't want to deal with malls or department stores. It's actually better because even the high end stores ypically carry several of the same ensemble... here you can rid yourself of that reoccurring nightmare (OMG is she wearing my dress?) and also score a really unique piece. read more
