Order not as described. Worker was not friendly. Not worth the effort. I really wanted it to be good.....

Very nice setting, delicious healthy choices. Staff is friendly and fast! Lots of fun seating and swings for the kids. read more

Been here multiple times and I really love the açaí bowls! Not the biggest fan of the poke bowls here, and the smoothies and juices are okay. But the bowls are tasty and filling, and taste fresh! The area is so cute as well! There's mini putt putt, corn hole, swings, and a playground for kids. Really cute area and great food! Would definitely recommend for a quick bite before heading to the beach! read more

Tried it while on vacation. Probably the best granola I've ever had! Enjoyed my açaí bowl and smoothie! read more

I've eaten their Poke Bowls multiple times and I've never been disappointed. Tonight, at Music by the Sea, was no exception. The tuna melts in your mouth. The spicy aioli is just a little spicy. The avocado, cukes, red peppers, and white rice round out the goodies in the bowl. Service was fast and friendly. Contactless pay is available as it takes over the payment process. read more

Definitely worth the trip and the money! This is such a unique food truck. I am not into vegan and vegetarian food, but I am into healthy eating. This food truck has all three. If you are vegan or vegetarian you will definitely want to try this place out. If you love healthy, fresh food you must try this food truck out. I love a good food truck and this one didn't disappoint. Had an ahi bowl with mango and a killer sauce. Nice bit of heat with a sweetness that balance everything together. The girls were smiling and seemed to enjoy what they do. Even got a cool little area to kick back and play some corn hole. The music choice was odd though. I'd suggest a more island vibe rather than oldies or obscure songs( probably not big island bowls decision) read more

Big Island Bowls - Classic Açaí Bowl + Strawberries - Acai Bowls Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

Very disappointed with the acai bowl. Service and ambiance are great, however the bowls were a let down. The granola is way too crunchy/hard and the acai flavor was a bit off. The fruit on top was fine, but unfortunately I threw half the bowl away. read more

Stopped by this location based on it being the only açaí available past 6pm on a Monday. I was highly disappointed with the açaí itself. Not authentic and chunky, probably a powder and just blended with ice. I'm an avid açaí lover and was highly disappointed with that aspect. However the topping and fruit were of great quality and helped me to be able to finish the bowl. Location is in a food truck park with some other options available within an arms reach. Two stars for toppings and friendly service. read more

This place was cute. They had a lot of great items on their menu. Although the downside to this place was that the base of the smoothie bowl was not fresh and way icy. That wasn't too great. The bowls were also very pricey. This place isn't bad if you're really craving an acai bowl and there's no other options. read more

Fun peaceful great place to sit and enjoy some fresh açaí on a beautiful Monday afternoon

Loved this food truck! We got to experience Big Island Bowls at a lacrosse tournament in Orlando. Normally tournament food (unless you bring your own) is not the healthiest. Having the option of Big Island Bowls was a refreshing change! The menu is straightforward. There are several varieties of Poke Bowls and and Açaí Bowls. You can even get a Vegan Poke Bowl made with a whole Hass avocado! I ordered the Teriyaki Poke: Tuna marinated in Teriyaki Sauce over jasmine rice with avocado, chopped cucumber, green onion, & sesame seeds. So unbelievingly fresh! The veggies were vibrant and crunchy! The fish and rice were perfect. I think this was better than any Poke Bowl I have had in a restaurant! Husband and I shared an Acai Bowl. I ordered the Waterman with granola, bananas, blueberries, shredded coconut, & honey. After ordering I mentioned that I regretted not getting "The Outrigger " because it had pineapple, and the owner immediately put some pineapple in my bowl. My son ordered the Hibiscus Bowl. Among other ingredients it had Goji Berries and he loved it! Super fresh fruit, tasty acai, and a huge bowl. It can easily be shared! My son and I also tried the Tropical Paradise drink (pineapple, mango, & cherry juice). Normally I don't get these drinks because they are too sweet or have added sugar. This drink tasted like pure fruit juice. Delicious treats on a hot afternoon! The owner was so gracious and friendly. So was the young lady working there. Such a nice surprise at the Orlando Open Tournament. Big Island Bowls, please come back to the Omni for the Summer Face Off in June! read more

Good food, exactly what I was looking for- service was fine, ambiance was beachy but wish there was an indoor A/C because we were overheated! read more

Stopped by this place for the first time today after reading all the reviews. We both had acai bowls. They were small for the price, the acai was 50% acai powder and 50% ice, the fruit was not very fresh, and the overall taste was just meh. The ambiance had a cool vibe though. We have had amazing, fresh acai bowls in Florida, Las Vegas, and other locations so we are admittedly kinda acai snobs. We had high expectations coming to this place based on the reviews, but were unfortunately disappointed. read more

Excellent fresh poke bowl. I had the bang bang bowl with tuna and it was amazing. Loved all the flavors and texture in the bowl. We will be back. read more

I've been coming to Big Island Bowls for years and always get the same bowl to go. I don't know if they changed the recipe or were rushed because of the holiday, but I couldn't even finish my bowl and had to throw it away. Rice is too dry and bang bang sauce was overwhelmingy spicy. I got same bowl last month and it was great. I don't think I will be back. Smoothies are great tho. read more

I tried an A-frame spicy poke bowl with tuna and an Endless Summer Acai bowl. They were both very good. The location is also very cute, with a few tables to sit at, which was nice since it is a beautiful day out today. read more

Nice choices, filling açaí bowl and a nice sitting area for grabbing a bite to eat when getting off the beach!

This is a super cute little truck, sitting in a circle of food trucks with nice seating and corn hole to play. The girls didn't seem happy that I made them get up and go into the truck to help me. I was trying to ask what to get but everything was "it's good". I ended up picking the Pacific powerhouse because I like an Acai/Kale mix. This mix was too green tasting, would have liked more acai mix. I almost broke my teeth on the granola. I got a lid to let it sit and hopefully soften up for later. read more

Big Island Bowls - a bowl of food with a spoon in it - Acai Bowls Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

This unique food truck is located next to Mojo's Tacos on Anastasia Island in St. Augustine. Everything is perfectly prepped to order, but takes very little time to prep! An entire acai bowl can serve as a light to medium meal, but a half bowl is a healthy snack. They are generally served with granola and various fruit and/or nut toppings. They offer almond milk base as well as an apple juice base for the actual acai part of the bowl. Smoothies are also offered. I haven't had their smoothies yet, because the bowls draw me each time without fail! Service has been fast and friendly, and seating is so cute outside! You can also sit inside Mojo's Tacos if the weather is inclement. They don't mind! Restrooms are also located inside the taco shop. read more

I've lived in St. Augustine for many years, so I'm pretty confident in saying that I know a lot about the cuisine offered here! With that being said, Big Island Bowls is one of my favorite joints on the island. Nestled by a popular taco shop, the truck is easy to miss for tourists or locals who don't make a habit of visiting Anastasia. Still, the truck is brightly colored and well-decorated: there is a cute sitting area where you can relax while you wait and munch. The service is very good- I've been many times, and the attendants are always accommodating and polite while they help with the order. The food itself is incredible. There are many pre-made options for a newbie, but if you so wish, the employees will help you design a bowl that you can be happy with. The fruit they use in their bowls is crisp and sweet, and the honey and granola mixed into the bowls make a great thing amazing. A full bowl can serve as lunch, but for the more peckish among you, a half bowl can be ordered as a snack. There are smoothies available as well, which are also excellent- but if it's your first time attending, I definitely recommending getting a bowl just to dip your toes in the water... so to speak. Big Island Bowls is a really great place to bring a friend after the beach or go to breakfast before you start your day. Easily one of my favorite trucks and a regular haunt of mine... can't say enough great things about it! read more

We ate MANY bowls while staying in St. Augustine beach in the last week. Every bowl has tasted fresh and amazing. Our favorite poke bowls are the teriyaki bowl and the bang bang bowl. Our favorite açaí bowls are the Shaka bowl and the lifeguard bowl. Sometimes my husband and I got one poke bowl and one açaí bowl and shared both. Both kinds of bowls were the perfect lunch after a few hours at the beach. Delicious! read more

my first time trying this place as a st augustine local & i cannot recommend it more. quick & easy to order, everything was fresh and delicious. my favorite was definitely the açaí bowl i had, i'll definitely come back to try more. very nice & sunny area, has a summery vibe to it. read more

I want to like this place. I love açaí bowls and they have a cute set up. Every time I've gone though I get the slowest service. I mean 20-30 min for an açaí bowl. When I walked up no one was there. In the past they just forgot my order. Maybe they forgot it again even though I moved to a spot within eye site knowing if I wasn't there when they called the Order I'd probably not receive it. Honestly one of those place I resent that I tipped them knowing that they so easily forget me all together. Taste was decent, but nothing amazing. read more

I just moved from JAX and would get an acai bowl every weekend from JuiceTap. I figured I'd try a new place down here so I decided to give Big Island Bowls a go. Major let down. Extremely over priced. I paid $30 for 2 bowls. The bowls are icy and very small portions. The flavor of the acai is non existent. If I hadn't paid $15 a bowl I would throw them in the trash. They are not good-AT ALL. I honestly wish I had just driven to JuiceTap instead. If you're looking for good flavor and a healthy portion that won't break the bank, do yourself a favor and drive to JuiceTap. You won't regret it. read more

Big servings, fresh and tasty. Highly recommended. Drinks are excellent too, perfect for a summer afternoon.

This food truck is unbelievable. I purchased a tuna poke bowl for the first time from this place and it was extremely tasty. The quality of the tuna was fantastic and they definitely give large portions. The ingredients tasted very fresh and I was able to customize the bowl to get exactly what I wanted. I got the teriyaki poke bowl and added pineapple. Amazing! The açaí bowls also looked fresh and delicious and were also a healthy portion. read more

The owners lived in Hawaii for serval years and you can taste the inspiration in every bite! Unlike other Acai places, they actually blend their Acai fresh every day and bake their own homemade granola every morning! The delicious aroma alone will draw you in. Big Island Bowls is the only place that offers you a variety of blend options all made with 100% Organic Acai. If you like something sweet the Organic Apple Juice blend is so refreshing. If you like something less sweet and creamy, the Organic Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk is perfect. They are also the only place with Organic Dragonfruit! As for their smoothies, they use pure fruit, no ice, no sugar, no syrups! You can definitely taste the difference in higher quality. There are about 10 different healthy toppers you can add to any Acai Bowl or Smoothie for an extra boost! The atmosphere has really good vibes, and it's an instant mood booster.
