Relaxed, and friendly with a great selection of domestic, foreign, and craft beers. The service is friendly, efficient, and attentive.

I'm a big fan of big hops. They have a great selection of beer and good price points. They will have a couple specials to empty the tap. The bartenders are always great. The bathroom is cute and clean. There's pool tables and a food truck out back. I don't recommend the pizza machine inside though.

Tasty beers, good tunes. $1.00 full pours 3:00pm-5:00pm.. great atmosphere, good discussions, clean. Nice selection of n/a beers.

This was the 2nd Big Hops I've been to and while it's larger than the first there's something kind of lost when the space is 4X bigger. Sure, there's plenty of activities: (pool, video games) but there's something missing when there are that many more tables and more bar space. Had I visited this location first I think I would rate it higher, but the Huebner location had a more cozy, local watering hole type vibe. I liked the depth of beer on taps but it doesn't substitute having everyone in the place singing 'Happy Birthday' to the bartender; still a great, fun place but a little more distant and that makes a big difference when you're sipping beer in a new city.

Easy going vibe here!

Plenty of choices on tap and the bartender was extremely helpful in choosing a beer. Prices were reasonable and the size of the facility was more than adequate. The pool table in the back was a nice touch. I'd say this is an easy place to stop and have a conversation with friends. No frills but they aren't needed here. They have a busted pizza machine so that takes it down a star. No real food options beyond nuts and popcorn but they do allow you to bring food in.

Nice place to stop in for a cold one on a hot day. Nice, but compared to a couple of other watering holes a small selection of beers, but then again larger than most. They offer a growler service which is cool. I've never done that but I noticed a couple of folks brining empties in. It's in a strip near Hobby Lobby on Bitters. Parking is plentiful.

Draft selection - they rotate them.

This place is the bomb.com! Like the other three locations, they are clean, the staff is friendly, VERY knowledgeable and PASSIONATE about their beer selection. Plenty of local and out of state micro brews available here. Don't expect to find any Bud or Miller products. Mike served us today and after I ordered my beer, he said "if you like that one, you might like this one. It's a bit different but..." and then he continued to describe the flavor of the beer and gave me a free sample. I was really impressed by the interaction and the beer knowledge he had. It looks like they have 33 beers on tap and they also have a good selection of canned beers. A lot of their draft beers can't be found in local stores but fear not; you can purchase a growler from them (or bring your own) and bring it back for refills of whatever they have on tap. Support this local business and get here fast - you will thank me for it later! If this location isn't near you, find one of the other three locations.

Live Oak Heff anyone?

This is a very cool place with lots of beers!! First time here and made some friends too. The staff is friendly and great and very knowledgeable. We will make this one of our go to spots. Plenty of parking which I know is a worry as some breweries but don't worry they ha e lots of local brews too and with out the parking hassle since they are located in a huge shopping center. Do your self a favor and drop in by!!!

If you are one that enjoys a good craft beer at a not so crowded place, this should definitely be a place you try out. Its great for small and bigger crowds and most importantly for all walks of life. The staff is always very knowledgeable and super friendly. They have games, good music and TV's there to be able to watch your favorite team on game nights too. Its an awesome place to go just to meet up with a couple friends, lowkey date night, or even take a book or laptop to do some work/journaling while enjoying a tasteful beer of your choice. My favorite thing about Big Hops is the very calming neighborhood bar feel. Super glad this place is still up and running even during the mess of COVID.

There was a DJ playing a great variety of music. There's plenty of seating at tables & around a large bar. There's even upstairs seating. This is an all around great place but what makes this bar 5 stars isn't the drinks or the atmosphere, the bartenders make this place 5 stars!!! Our bartender was Jess (Jessica) & she was a firecracker! (In the best way!) She was friendly, had the best personality & made us laugh so hard! One might say she was "charismatic"! A lot of bartenders ask you what you want, make your drink, take your credit card, hand you your bill & walk away. I call this lazy service! Not here! Jess is the kind of bartender that you want to be friends with! She KNOWS how to mix a great drink & she actually gives you service w a smile... while making you laugh! If you can walk away from her not loving your drink & not wanting to go back to her for your next drink & some laughs.... Trust me, It's YOU... not her. Ally was working the bar also. This duo made the perfect bartending team on a Friday night. Ally was awesome! You can't go wrong at this bar on a Friday night as long as these ladies are mixing up your drinks!

Beer, wine and pizza...what's not to love about The Growler Exchange?…read more For those of you who have never been to this amazing business before, The Growler Exchange is a tap room and restaurant which carries a huge variety of unique beers, as well as some of the most delicious pizza you've ever had in your life. I've been a regular at this restaurant for 5 years and I can tell you that quality has stayed the same throughout the years. I also appreciate that they now have a bigger variety of wines and you can also buy beer and wine to-go. If you are looking to try their amazing pizza, their most popular pie (and my husband's favorite) is their Mike's Special which is a red sauce pizza with mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon and topped with honey drizzle. However, if you prefer something spicy (like I do), I highly recommend their Spicy Meat Sweats which is also a red sauce pizza with mozzarella, garlic sausage, pepperoni, salami, bacon and topped with some very spicy chili oil. Hope everyone gets to try this amazing local business, and don't forget to bring your growler with you! PSA for the parents: They do welcome kids, and they even have a changing station in the women's bathroom.

I will say the GPS got a little confused in the route for some reason and I nearly missed an exit and even the entrance (there was some construction going on) There is plenty of parking, but the parking lot was pretty full. You walk up and either walk through the courtyard style Biergarten with tables or you can go inside. It was an unseasonably nice day, so, we opted to sit outside There is a QR code to view the menus. There are entrees and plenty of apps/sharables. There is also a very extensive beer menu. Make no mistake, this is their bread and butter. They boast an imprecise "99 beers on tap." There's local brews, light and dark beers, hoppy, Belgium style, German style, wheat, etc etc etc. if that's not your speed there are cocktails and non-alcoholic options. Our server was fantastic. She was very kind and patient with us. We were constantly checked in on, but not in a hovering way or a pressure to leave. Our food and drinks always came out in a timely manner. She made us feel well taken care of The drinks hit the spot, and the food was tasty. It was definitely a chill vibe/hang. We were there for hours just catching up, and we saw other happy hours, birthday parties, dates, bachelorette parties, etc Some tips: I did order a couple beers that they were temporarily out of, but there are so many beers to pivot to. Also, our server was incredibly helpful in offering other suggestions, similar suggestions, and asking the right questions to help land in the next alternative They are not open Mondays, and they're only open until 11pm Tuesday-Thursday (and Sunday). Friday and Saturday they're open til 1am. Also, on Saturdays and Sunday's they offer brunch from 11am-3pm) The Reuben was surprisingly delicious Cheers!!

The ambience is clean, spread out, and slightly dimmed towards the back, but it gives a nice welcoming vibe. They have a really good hip-hop and R&B playlist, which gives a fun experience. The service is excellent, everyone beginning to end was super nice and helpful. Our server did a great job at explaining the menu and what to expect. We got the original fried chicken, which is basically a chicken cut up into pieces so you get a little bit of everything of a whole chicken. This recipe is still crispy, we got the honey soy sauce on the side, and that sauce is amazing! We ended up ordering more. We also got the crispy wings, those are double fried and definitely have lots of crisp! Every piece was hot and fresh, very juicy and a perfect seasoning. We also ordered some fries that had a powdered cheese on them and the guy did let us know it was a sweet cheese, but I was definitely not expecting that much sweet. Honestly they were not my favorite, it's very strange to have a sweet powdered cheese on french fries. I was not a fan, but my husband liked them. And lastly, is the slaw and the pickled radish that they bring out, I liked those very much and they gave a perfect balance and touch of acid against the wings and the richness of the sauce. The location isn't something you immediately see off the road, it's right in the corner of a strip mall off of De Zavala. Definitely worth the trip, these wings and this chicken were 10 out of 10!

Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Bang Bang Bar has long been one of my favorite bars in town, and after this night, that reputation is more than earned.
