I want to start by saying that our initial experience with this company was great. The technician they sent to repair our washer and fridge fixed both issues without any problems and at a fair price. Because of that positive experience, we called them again when our dryer stopped working and our dishwasher flooded. The technician who came out the second time seemed knowledgeable, but he spent an unusual amount of time talking about his personal life, previous work history, and education. It felt as though he was trying to prove his qualifications. While it was a bit odd, we allowed him to assess the issues. He told us the dryer vent needed to be cleaned or replaced. Regarding the dishwasher, I don't recall the exact issue, but he performed a repair and quoted us prices for both jobs, which we agreed to. He returned on another day to complete the work. He went into our attic and told us he had cleaned something related to the dryer vent and that the dryer should work as long as we did not overload it. He also stated verbally AND IN THE RECEIPT that the dryer duct had been replaced. However, when we later moved and checked behind the dryer ourselves, we found a broken duct that had not been replaced. He mentioned that the dryer needed additional parts and said he would return to complete the repair. At that point, however, we were uncomfortable and did not want this specific technician to come back. To this day, the duct has still not been replaced. We called and requested a different technician. The new technician stated that the issue might be mechanical and that repairing the internal components would cost between $600-$800. For comparison, a brand-new LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Stackable Front Load Dryer retails for $699.99. When I asked why I would spend that much on repairs instead of purchasing a new unit, I did not receive a clear explanation. I do not typically leave negative reviews, but this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Based on our second experience, I cannot recommend this company. I am leaving two stars only because the first technician did a good job. Im sure there will be a comeback from the owner as well. My dryer stopped blowing hot air. My usual tech couldn't come out for a few days so I decided to give these guys a try. They came out immediately so that was a plus. Their tech diagnosed that a thermostat needed to be replaced. The part cost $50. The invoice came out to $350 which also included a cleaning and maintenance. So why the 3 stars? It was $50-$100 more expensive from other places I got a quote afterwards. It was great they were able to come out the next day but had I known they were more expensive, I would have waited and saved a few bucks. read more

I contacted Big H & A on July 21 to have the inner glass on my LG Oven Door replaced. I will be transparent and say that my original interaction with the technician dispatched by Big H & A did not go well. The technician was not truthful about the availability of parts for my repair (he told me the part was discontinued even though I could find it easily online) and did not follow up when he said he would. I posted my dissatisfaction with my initial experience with Big H & A and was soon contacted by Art, the owner of the company. Art was a complete breath of fresh air. Art immediately apologized for my experience and took full ownership of the situation. He agreed that my experience was unacceptable and was not defensive even in the slightest. He was understanding, kind, and most importantly, accountable. Art offered to refund me my original $60 service feel along with some additional money to compensate me for my troubles (I had to ultimately conduct the repair myself). Art also offered a generous discount on future services, which was greatly appreciated. I understand that business owners don't always have control over the people who work for them. What is important, however, is whether those owners demonstrate accountability and honesty towards customers. Accountability starts at the top and, from my experience, Art is a truly accountable leader and demands it from the people who work for him. This should give any future customer of Big H & A great confidence. You want to be sure that a company is honest and that the people you hire to come into your home are trustworthy. Given my experience with Art, I would trust Big H & A in the future. You learn a lot about a company when things don't go as planned. Contacted Big H&A on a Tuesday night at 9pm after something got caught between the washer door and the rubber seal....rubber seal was completely ripped up. They responded immediately and I was able to schedule the diagnostic the next day. The price they quoted me was fair, much lower than a few other companies I contacted. Alex and Stan came out on Friday night to replace the rubber seal on my LG washer - they were very courteous and clean and were in and out in under an hour! We were honestly so impressed at how fast they were. They also ran tests to make sure the washer wouldn't leak during a cycle. Would definitely hire again for appliance repair. read more

The summer of 2025 will go down as the summer my house kept falling apart. AJ came and did an inspection and it was the pump. Pricy to fix, but not as pricy as a new dishwasher. I decided to go with the fix for this round. If it happens again, I'll get a new dishwasher. He didn't have the part so he had to order it. One more weekend without a dishwasher. I was wondering if my kids were going to move out! I scheduled the work with AJ though I had to initiate. We scheduled a diagnostic for our washer as some ashes got in due to recent wild fires. The scheduling process was quick and easy. They were able to get someone out the next day which was great. The technician Art was punctual, knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He inspected our washer and explained to us regarding his cleaning process. He then spent ~45 minutes (or maybe less) working on it. He also gave us some tips on how to maintain in the future. Diagnostic fee was $60ish but they will apply that to the total service fee. Our washer cleaning was $185 so in total I only paid $185. Will use them again in the future! read more

Update: I received a call from this company about an hour after writing the below review. They questioned why I would write a one star review and basically told me to take it down. When I said no, they offered a refund of $40 to take the review down. While I initially said "fine" just because I was put on the spot, I later refused to back down. If any other young woman needs appliance help, I want them to see my review and make an informed decision. I initially chose this company for the reviews, but If they are having people take down negative reviews then no wonder they have 5 stars. You guys can't take it upon yourselves to do maintenance than you were not asked to do, and then be expected to be paid for it. Your practices need to change.
