Worst customer experience ever. AC went out, with our luck in summer. JMS quoted they could get things fixed but just needed 2 weeks for the parts to arrive. Ok, not ideal, but fine. Did they fulfill that? Absolutely not. In fact, they never bothered to follow up. We had to constantly be the ones to follow up, and on top of that, it ended up being 6 WEEKS DELAYED. Which during the time they NEVER could be bothered to communicate with us. Finally, we asked what the exact parts were that we needed, so that we could just order it ourselves perhaps, or go with a different vendor. And suddenly, what, the parts were shipping? Excuse me? I see how it is. And they said it would arrive by Thursday. Spoiler alert, nope, it did not. We had to wait the weekend. Ok, finally the parts arrive. Did they communicate that? Meh. Did they set an appointment time to actually do the repair? Of course not. They just appeared on Monday morning. Which also means magically needing to drop whatever you have going on at work. I hope it's not important. I hope if this happens to you, you don't make money on an hourly rate. Oh, it gets better. When the repair people completed their work, they said the technician who refills the freon was a separate person who wasn't scheduled. We could wait for another day. EXCUSE ME? Getting service with JMS felt like pulling teeth at literally every step of the process. Getting any response felt like pulling your own child's hair out. How is this even possible? How are you this nonchalant about other people's suffering? Would you enjoy it if you had to live like this? If you had this kind of service? Do you really not care at all about your customers? And of course since it's summer, we're talking about having to move out for...we'll, they never fulfilled their word on how long this would take, so 6 weeks of ad hoc housing. Anyone else want to live out a tiny expensive hotel for that long? Thousands of dollars down the drain. 0/10. Negative stars. Worst service possible, they literally just don't care about you. I would like to say from the beginning, the service was outstanding. The whole system had to be replaced. It gave our family 26 good years. From Kelsey and Melanie answering the phones, making appointments, keeping track of the technicians, and the installers. I had a truly disappointing experience with JMS Air Conditioning. Their scheduling was a nightmare, they insist on using phone calls to do business and often wouldn't answer when I'd call multiple times. They kept calling my property tenants instead of the landlord and sent a technician with nobody at the home because they couldn't communicate about scheduling. Their dispatch team is apparently new and doesn't know what they're doing. To make matters worse, there was zero communication upon arrival and during installation. They didn't bother to send photos or explain their actions. Literally just installed an entire system without indicatin when they were starting or who was on the property. Didn't ask to start or anything. The customer service and dispatch teams had shockingly bad attitudes, making the experience even more frustrating. Super sassy and rude. Their lack of professionalism was evident in every interaction. To top it all off, they charged an astronomical amount for the services provided, leaving me feeling completely ripped off. That said, this is the only service that responded out of 25 inquiries I sent around Los Angeles. A few others responded but couldn't even form a coherent sentence. I was sold a Daiken mini split air conditioner and was assured that any mechanical issues would be covered by the ten year warranty... About 6 months later the unit took a dump and after numerous attempts by their serviceman to fix it I was told that nothing could be done. Ultimately I was conned into purchasing another unit for just under what I had originally paid.. JMS sold me a 3 ton mini split with a 10 year warranty.. when the unit crapped out on me 6 months later they strung me along for weeks and weeks telling me that they were talking to manufacturer etc. In the end they charged me almost what a new unit would cost with a bs story about me having to pay them for the "time it took" dealing with Daiken to procure a new unit. The driver of this van/truck was tailgating us and honking for no reason. He was a hazard to me and other drivers. This was on the 10 Fwy, exiting at Overland today, 6/13/204. I had a mini split installed by JMS in 2019 and it recently stopped working. I called to have them come out and check on it. After the first visit, they said it was an electrical issue and they would send someone who could work on that. The next day, two people came, spent some time testing things, and came back to me confirming that it was an electrical issue somewhere under the house but that they couldn't fix it. After some back and forth we determined that JMS were the ones responsible for the electrical work in the first place so they said they'd send the person who installed it originally to come fix it. At that point, everything went downhill fast. I called in Tuesday afternoon, many hours after being told that I was a priority and they would call me when they had the electrician's availability and they said the dispatcher would call me later that day. Nothing. I called Wednesday morning and they said they'd call me back when they got availability from the electrician. Nothing. I called around lunch and they said the person working on my job was at lunch but would call me back. Nothing. I called mid afternoon and they said they would follow up by the end of the day for sure. Nothing. I called Thursday morning and they finally said the electrician would arrive in the afternoon. The electrician arrived and it was immediately clear that JMS had not communicated at all about what needed to happen. The electrician was not prepared to go under the house, was not prepared to run new wire, was not at all prepared for what I had discussed with JMS. I ended up having to pay the electrician hundreds of dollars out of my own pocket and went almost a week without heat in my house thanks to an epic failure to communicate. Two stars because the original install was just fine but this was one of the worst service experiences of my life and I will not be using the company again. read more

Wow, was I duped. I had mini split systems installed in my duplex by JMS in 2019. At the time I thought it was a great job (though definitely not inexpensive). However, since then, we have had multiple problems with the units not working and had JMS out multiple times to fix the units. Over this past VERY HOT summer, the units stopped working multiple times and the service person always told my daughter it was user error or a circuit breaker. When one of the units started leaking freon, we insisted they properly identify the problem. They charged us $2700 for a leak detection service and told us they found 3 leaks in the lines. I asked what could have caused the leaks and they said the units just naturally vibrate. This is contrary to what other companies told me causes leaks in mini split units. Why would anyone buy these units if they just naturally leak? JMS told me it would be an additional $7500 to fix the leaks. After recovering from that price tag, I asked the owner for photos documenting the exact leak spots and for a substantial price reduction since he installed the system 4 years ago. He wouldn't take responsibility for his role in the leaks and tried to hold the photos hostage until I paid him. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant conversation. Why would he hold them hostage? I've never not paid a bill in my life! Anyway, I paid right then and there over the phone and he sent the photos. I called another company that was highly recommended on Yelp to take a look at the units. He said JMS's installation was "ugly" and that there was no insulation on the exterior lines as is required, causing them to prematurely deteriorate . But he couldn't tell me where the leaks were based on the photos. I asked JMS to mark the photos with the exact locations of the leaks. After all, I already paid a lot of money for the leak detection service. JMS refused my several requests by phone, texts and emails (although Tina, who answers the phone, was lovely). Clearly they didn't want to give me the information because (1) I would use a different company to fix the problem and (2) I would find out that the problem wasn't what they diagnosed. Finally I threatened legal action and to report JMS to the Contractors State Licensing Board. Only then did JMS send me the marked up photos. Lo and behold, there were no leaks in the lines, only faulty connectors to the system. The new hvac company fixed all the connectors, including adding insulation to the original wiring, and charged me $2435 for everything. I've tried to keep this review factual notwithstanding the emotional toll the 2 months of dealing with JMS took on me. I will simply add that this is not the first time JMS tried to charge me an extraordinary amount of money for a job that another company fixed at a fraction of JMS's quote. Save your money. Keep your blood pressure low. Find an honest hvac company. In my opinion, this is not one. read more

I am a preferred customer for JMS. 3 weeks ago a power surge fried my Mitsubishi ac circuit board and other components. I urgently needed JMS to diagnose and fix the problem. Despite some miscommunication at first, they diagnosed, ordered the replacement parts and fixed my Mitsubishi unit for my surgical suite quickly. I've been trying to get them to do a maintenance check on 2 separate occasions, 1st time dispatch didn't schedule it and failed to update me. 2nd time it was raining so they had to reschedule .....again dispatch didn't update/call or even text me! I've recently contacted this company and spoke to Marco to get AC services and replace my thermostat. They came and did inspection and gave me a quote to put a google nest thermostat and installation for $525. So prior to my appointment, I've learned that LADWP has a AC optimization program where they'll install a google nest thermostat and labor for FREE!!! Mind you!! JMS is one of the participating company that appeared in the LADWP website. Upon consulting with another provider... they said we qualified for a free thermostat and labor. So why did Marco from JMS failed to mention that LADWP was providing this service for free and was charging me $525??? When I called back to cancel my appointment , I respectfully asked why I wasn't told about the program , his only response was "I will cancel your appointment tomorrow. Omar and Jeff have been our regular service techs for quite some time now, part of the JMS team that takes care of us with twice annual visits. Today was the hottest day of the year so far, and I surely didn't expect to see them on a same day service call - I'd thought it may be a couple days due to the ferocity of the heat wave; yet they were able to come at near the beginning of the service window and were able to diagnose & replace the worn out capacitor within 45 minutes. The cost of replacement was well within reason and we got our AC back running at less expense than anticipated. Omar is obviously growing in knowledge and experience, we're glad he is part of the team caring for our needs. read more

The five stars are only for the technician that came today. Apparently those that installed the new system in the house this summer did not set up the thermostat properly. It was not set up for a heat pump and so the heat wouldn't turn on for the last few days. I think that was a pretty bad mistake and I'm glad today's tech figured it out but this never should have happened. read more

Eduardo is especially great as he really knows our system well now and we really trust him. But every technician who has come to our house has been so nice and polite. They will suggest things to buy and explain why--which is just a common part of a business and can be helpful; and, importantly, they are always respectful of our choices--never a hard sell. A few months ago, I had a problem with our bill but was ultimately very pleased with the way Tina fixed everything and made things right to make up for my frustration.
