Mike's Air was fantastic. I can't recommend them highly enough, especially Slava, the technician who took care of us. Our A/C stopped working during a stretch of 100-degree weather. The first company I called I asked if he did repairs or only replacement systems. He said, "I do repairs. That's why it's in the name!" "Great!" I thought. When he checked our system he told me the compressor was bad, which was expected. I asked if he could replace it with a new or reconditioned compressor, but he said no, because the system was about 10 years old and used an older refrigerant. He said the only option wasto replace the entire system. He also said we had an asbestos-wrapped pipe that would need to be removed by another company before he could do the work. He offered to get me in contact with that company, but never did, even after I followed up. So, in the meantime I decided to call Mike's Air. It was late on a Friday. We had Slava out by Monday. He checked the system, confirmed the compressor was bad, and gave me a very different answer: yes, the compressor could be replaced. He was straightforward about the pros and cons of buying an entirely new system vs just replacing the compressor. No selling. Just facts. The price for replacement was very reasonable compared to a full system, so I figured it only has to last about 4 years for it to pay off vs buying a new system now. I gave the deposit and about a week later the compressor arrived. Slava came out the very next day -- on a Saturday -- and installed it. Everything is working again and we couldn't be happier. Not just cuz we saved money (short-term), but I felt confident that Slava was doing a professional job. What impressed me most was that Slava/Mike's Air actually gave us a repair option instead of automatically pushing a full replacement. Slava was knowledgeable, straightforward and professional throughout the entire process, as was Rhea back at Mike's. Highly recommended. read more

It is hot in the valley and my A/C refused to turn on. I was going crazy trying to figure it out. Contacted Mike's Air via yelp and they were able to come same day. Tech came out and was very nice and respectful of my property. He had to go into the attic and found that the cover was dislodged. He put the cover back on and A/C worked! Was an easy fix but he didn't try to con me and told me the truth. After, he checked the cooling temperature and measured the level of coolant. Gave me straight answers with no bs. Walked him out and asked how much I owed. He told me it's on the house since it was a simple fix. AMAZING customer service and quality interaction. Absolutely top notch. Made an inquiry the day before about a non-functional gas powered furnace, and I was able to get an appointment through the Yelp chat very quickly the next day. Alex showed up on time and was very professional. He found the ignitor to be the problem and quoted us for the cost - which was about what was expected. However, We also needed a new thermostat, and they wanted $350 for it - which I thought was a lot - considering high tech smart thermostats go for a lot less. But then again, he had to rewire the low voltage regulator to it so the labor involved probably was included in that line item. During this heat wave a tenant's AC unit wasn't cooling down their apartment. I contacted Mike's air who I've used before and their representative who answered the phone told me that they have been really busy but that she'd look at the schedule and call me back. She called back within 30 mins. and told me she found a serviceman, Ryan, who could come out tomorrow. I was thankful as it was around 5pm when I called. The next day Ryan checked the AC unit and vents and diagnosed the problem. He also gave helpful advice to the tenant and myself on the use of the AC. Unfortunately, he needed to order parts which would take 2-3 days to arrive. Ryan returned with the new parts and swapped them out. While working on the AC unit he showed me that there was heavy accumulation of dust on the evaporator coils and advised having the coils cleaned. Unbelievable experience today with Andrew... My A/C unit was inspected by the Synergy Companies in order to qualify for the So. Cal Gas tankless water heater program... Upon inspection, the technician informed me that my A/C wasn't working and suggested that I have an HVAC company diagnosis and repair the unit... It turns out it was a simple issue of just tripping the circuit breaker... Andrew did that and also secured the capacitor inside the unit... I was quoted $85 for the service call and diagnosis and when he was finished, I was about to pay and he told me the service was complimentary... This just does not happen...
