I'm so pleased with my experience with Mike's Air. my HVAC unit had been acting up a bit lately- and while i was out of town recently it stopped working entirely. no AC, no heat, and even the fan stopped blowing. i always use yelp and sift through reviews before hiring people - Mike's Air came up super quick and i called right away. i was able to get an appointment for Monday & they were able to work around my work schedule- that's always a plus! unfortunately the initial issue wasn't the only thing wrong with my unit, but my awesome expert Andrew did an AMAZING job of explaining everything and letting me know where he was at in the process. the following day (today!) he came back with the part, installed it, and it began working immediately. i'm writing this review from my couch with the AC blowing strong and cool. bonus points: i have a few senior rescue dogs and he was fantastic with them. i feel like the work was done at a VERY fair price & he's super kind. i'd definitely recommend Andrew (at Mike's Air) for your HVAC needs. read more

Made an inquiry the day before about a non-functional gas powered furnace, and I was able to get an appointment through the Yelp chat very quickly the next day. Alex showed up on time and was very professional. He found the ignitor to be the problem and quoted us for the cost - which was about what was expected. However, We also needed a new thermostat, and they wanted $350 for it - which I thought was a lot - considering high tech smart thermostats go for a lot less. But then again, he had to rewire the low voltage regulator to it so the labor involved probably was included in that line item. Overall, I'd highly recommend Mike's Air - they are prepared, quick and professional. read more

Unbelievable experience today with Andrew... My A/C unit was inspected by the Synergy Companies in order to qualify for the So. Cal Gas tankless water heater program... Upon inspection, the technician informed me that my A/C wasn't working and suggested that I have an HVAC company diagnosis and repair the unit... It turns out it was a simple issue of just tripping the circuit breaker... Andrew did that and also secured the capacitor inside the unit... I was quoted $85 for the service call and diagnosis and when he was finished, I was about to pay and he told me the service was complimentary... This just does not happen... I am so grateful and now Mike's has a customer for life!!! read more

Honestly, it was pretty hard for me to find a reliable and trustworthy A/C technician after hearing all those stories about fraud and overpriced "fake repairs". But after reading all those great reviews about Mike's Air, I decided to contact them. It was not urgent (no heat wave outside), so we scheduled a visit for the next business day. The technician arrived on time, was very polite and professional! As the a/c is located on the roof, he went straight up there and identified an issue within 40 minutes or so! The a/c started working right away and no parts needed to be replaced! I rarely write a review, however, I read a lot of them. And through the reviews it seemed like Mike's air is a solid company. And that actually might be true in regards to their expertise. However, from my personal experience, I wanted to share what others didn't talk about: Their lack of solutions. I had one of their technicians come out to look at a heater in the basement that socal gas flagged was leaking gas. It was for a 1 bedroom unit that only has central heat (no air conditioning). The technician mentioned it could be repaired, yet could not guarantee the length of it working after the repair. It was mentioned to better just buy a new one. One that was $6,000 with installation. I asked if there were less expensive machinces out there and he said no. I asked to show me the options in tghe invoice that he said they'd send. I got their invoice the next day for the suggested $6,000 machine replacement, without even the option for repairing it. I wrote them back asking if there are more reasonable options. And days later (Even as I write this), I have still not received a response. So I called another place to get a 2nd opinion. Mind you, I also called around to find, that there are less expensive replacement alternative basement heaters. So mike's air lied to me or showed me that they either don't care to be reasonable in regards to cost or don't know and aren't that knowledgeable. Either way, not good. End of story, the 2nd opinion company was able to fix the problem. And realized it was just a maintenance issue and it was able to be resolved without needing a replacement or even a 2nd visit. An incredible experience. I called Mike's Air on Christmas eve to have an old school style gas heater inspected. Within 45 minutes, a gentlemen named Ryan was at my door. Professional, courteous, and even wore booties inside due to the rain. Ryan inspected and fixed a stuck valve, gave me future recommendations if the issues persist and provided the service free of charge. I will absolutely be using Mike's Air and requesting Ryan again. Thanks to all the amazing Yelp reviews-I called Mike's air last month because my A/C had a musty smell for quite some time .... They really do live up to the reviews! If I could give them 10 stars I would! Danny was incredibly patient! He had to come back to my place several times because my contractor didn't leave a large enough access space to get to the A/C unit/blower when they re-did my bathroom ceiling last year and had to cut it open again-twice! When he was finally able to access my ancient unit and clean the coils and the blower- he found an extremely dirty system!!! He was amazing- he spent a long time cleaning it....and when he was done it was fresh as the spring air!! No more musty smell! Not only was Danny a great technician- he was a very kind and interesting person and he answered all my text message questions right away!!!. I really enjoyed chatting with him...and wish him the best of luck with his first baby! The price was more than reasonable- and I couldn't be happier. Sometimes, when a business gets all 5-star reviews, by the time I call them up, they're too busy to provide the kind of customer service that all the reviews rave about. Not so here! I called on Monday, and Ryan from Mike's Air showed up on Tuesday. Communication with the scheduling team and with Ryan was terrific - super responsive, professional, and friendly. Our furnace repair took repeat visits but the team from Mike's Air came back super fast and were able to diagnose the cause of a problem we've been having on and off for years and which at least four other technicians from other companies have not been able to identify. And, they even installed our 4th-gen Nest thermostat like pros. Five stars all around - we will be calling them back next time we need anything HVAC related! read more

Andrew is savior. The thermostat to my heater was down and wouldn't power on. Purchased a new one and installed it, but still no luck. Called Mike Air and they sent over their technician, Andrew. He was very knowledgeable and identified problem immediately. Replaced bad transformer and few fuses. We also reinstalled previous thermostat to see if it was still any good. I had a problem with my furnace this morning with its gas valve. I woke up to a house that was 62 degrees in 39 degree weather. I messaged Mike's Air ant around 7am. They responded quickly and scheduled an appointment for this morning. They showed up at 11am diagnosed the problem, and had the part replaced and the unit up and running about an hour and a half later. Our ac wasn't cooling so we called mikes air after reading their excellent reviews. Our technician Danny was excellent. Very communicative, prompt, and super professional. Explained everything to us very clearly and all our options. Did a leak test for us at a very reasonable price and we needed to get the evaporator coils replaced which he got us a good price on. We ran into some unexpected issues because the contractor who built the furnace door made it too small - but Danny calmly troubleshooted and solved the issue for us.
