Ernie and crew really pulled through! Read through his company reviews, valid license, local business - decided to give them a call. Ernie came over the next day, looked at my old AC / Furnace - gave me a good quote. His crew led by Carlos came with the new units - installed and done. No mess, clean wiring and plumbing, no fuss. The thermostat was installed beautifully. What can I say? This crew was efficient and professional. System so far so good. Price is good. Highly recommend. read more

My house was screaming at me for months now, and today I decided to finally do something about it ( mostly because ChatGPT told me it was an emergency and my house was at risk of burning down) so I diligently researched HVAC people and I am so lucky I found Upright Construction and HVAC. I called Ernest and explained that my house was "screaming at me" he was rightfully confused "screaming?" He said ... "yes screaming, I have no idea how else to describe it" it was already 8pm and without a beat he said "I'll be there in 15 minutes" and he was. And of course when he arrived the noise was eerily quiet, like the most quiet this house has ever been. No screaming, scratching or howling coming from the roof. That said he set right up and was on top of my house in no time. As I paced the front yard, biting my nails, the silence was louder than the noise could ever be. All I kept thinking was "this is going to cost 20 grand." As I stared at the top of my little valley starter (and finish) home, the beam from his headlamp would splash toward the front yard. And then he said something to me no contractor, electrician or plumber has ever said to me "it's working fine, nothing is wrong". I yelled back "there's no way" not that I WANTED something wrong with it. But my goodness I wanted the noise to stop. And again, it was silent the whole time Ernest was here. How? So he checked again and for longer and found nothing wrong. I'm happy of course but there is still a huge problem that we haven't solved. I asked him what else it could be and he said "do you have an attic fan?" And I said confidently "I don't know" ... without hesitation "let's go see" and what came next was just superhero level ... when I figured out how to get to the attic (through the hall closet) I had no idea how anyone could actually get up there. There were shelves that I couldn't take out and all my towels that I could, I said "don't worry about it" because how could I expect him to go up there. But he was determined. He scaled the shelves like Spider-Man and disappeared into the ceiling. Next thing you know he's Santa Claus-ing his way back down. Covered in insulation he said "it's your attic fan, it's bad" ok we have a problem we can fix! He gave me a very fair estimate and we found the best day to get it done. I am so so lucky that I found Ernest. I'm so happy to have an honest, kind and professional contractor & HVAC guy I can trust. Thank you Ernest!! 10/10 read more

Ernest and Upright Construction did an amazing job installing our new HVAC system and ductwork. It was a big job, but from start to finish, the crew was professional, courteous, and clearly knew what they were doing. They were prompt and neat. Ernest is honest and charges fair prices, unlike some contractors who gouge customers. Also, he was very knowledgeable about energy company rebates. He walked me through the available programs and made sure everything was set up correctly, which ended up putting a nice return back in my pocket. I highly recommend Ernest and Upright Construction. read more

They came to replace my thermostats and said I didn't need to do it. They were going to charge $100 to place both, and didn't charge me anything. Highly recommend this honest company. read more

Ernie is the best, and I truly mean that. He made a point to come out quickly, was thorough honest and affordable. I will be calling him whenever I have an HVAC issue. read more

Ernie was outstanding! I sent him a message late yesterday because our AC had stopped working and the house was becoming scorching hot. He responded quickly and was at the house first thing this morning. He fixed the AC promptly and even took care of a couple of additional issues he noticed without charging anything extra. Throughout the entire process, he kept me updated, explained everything clearly, and communicated every step along the way. It's hard to find someone who is this responsive, honest, and thorough. I really appreciate his professionalism and excellent service. I highly recommend Ernie to anyone looking for a reliable HVAC technician! read more

Ernie and crew (led by Robert) were super efficient from quote to completion of an AC and coil replacement. The entire process was straightforward and easy, highly recommend. read more

As an update, we ended up still having to replace the hvac since another more expensive part ended up broken. They quote us $4000 lower than other hvac companies, same hvac model, and replaced it quickly for us. Also waived the initial fix costs of $450 They also re-visited us a few times when we had issues with airflow and hvac settings, and now it's working flawlessly. Our hvac is on the roof too so it was extra difficult for them to diagnose. Very happy with the service overall read more

I had a great experience with Upright Construction and HVAC. They installed a new HVAC system for my home, and while the original system didn't perform as expected, their commitment to making things right was outstanding. Ernest went above and beyond throughout the entire process. He was responsive, professional, and genuinely cared about ensuring that everything worked properly and that I was completely satisfied. Instead of walking away when issues arose, he took ownership of the situation and worked diligently to resolve them. It's rare to find a company that stands behind its work with this level of dedication and customer service. Thanks to Ernest and the team, I now have a system that is working as it should. I highly recommend Upright Construction and HVAC to anyone looking for honest, reliable service and a company that truly cares about its customers. read more

Excellent customer service & clear their expertise in the HVAC business surpasses that of most I've spoken to. Gave me excellent recommendations & didn't try to upsell me knowing that I had an older unit but was till working well. Did a temp read out of the vents and had a bunch of other tests knowing my unit was working well. It's good to know there are still trusting & honest people out there so I recommend Ernie & Up Right 100%. read more

Ernie, the owner, was fantastic. Before he even came out, he took the time to suggest a few things we could try to fix the issue ourselves--knowing full well that if one of them worked, we wouldn't even need to hire him. That alone told us a lot about his honesty and the kind of person he is. When he did come out, he quickly figured out the problem and took care of it for a fraction of what others had quoted us. He was kind, knowledgeable, honest, and clearly knows his stuff. He also offered to come and fix any issues that happen in a year if they are related to the issue we had. It's not often you come across someone who genuinely seems more interested in helping you than making a quick buck. We really appreciated that and will absolutely be calling Ernie again for any future HVAC needs. Highly recommend! read more

Ernie was great. I needed a new air conditioner and asked several companies to provide an estimate. I am very pleased with the work, the communication, and the price. I highly recommend this company. read more

My AC stopped working today. It was 96° outside and the inside of my house was 89° and unbearable even for a few minutes. I saw he was a couple of miles away from my home so I called him and he was able to come out within two hours of requesting service. He replaced the capacitor and was patient in answering all of my questions and even offered advice on how to improve my AC system. Thank you for the quick and prompt service! read more

Best communication and real honest work! Ernest came by and looked at our AC in the middle of a heat wave. The workers were phenomenal and were kind even with our snappy dog. Ernest and the company literally saved our comfort. We couldn't be more grateful. read more

When most people deal with contractors, there's a familiar anxiety: Will I be gouged? Will the work be shoddy? Will every change turn into a negotiation? I went into my first contract with Upright Construction--and with Ernie--very skeptical and hesitant, having dealt with many contractors over the years. I can say without hesitation that Upright Construction operates with integrity. They built an ADU for me that was completed over a year ago at a cost that was incredibly reasonable, and to this day I have not had a single issue that required them to come back and fix or remedy anything. The quality of the build has held up beautifully. They also remodeled a bathroom in my 70-year-old house, and it came out phenomenally. We later decided to make a modification, and Upright Construction was responsive, professional, and handled the additional work at a very reasonable price. What really stands out is availability and accountability. Ernie and his team are always willing to stop by if I have a question or need guidance--even when it's not tied to a big job. It's rare to find a contractor who combines fair pricing, high-quality workmanship, and genuine integrity. I truly cannot give a higher recommendation read more

When I felt that hot air coming through the vents, my stomach sank. I was dreading calling around for AC repairs because it's always scary trying to find someone honest who won't pressure you into expensive or unnecessary fixes. I submitted a request on Angie's List and Ernest was the only one willing to come out right away. I got extremely lucky. From the moment Ernest showed up, he was friendly and just put good vibes into the air. He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and completely down-to-earth. He gave me honest advice, was very reasonable, didn't pressure me into doing anything I didn't want to do when I declined, and filled the time with great conversation. From start to finish Ernie and his team were amazing! Yesterday, my AC stopped working at the start of our seasonal July heat wave cycle. I reached out to Ernie (based on his fantastic reviews) and he immediately picked up my call (rare these days)! We spoke about what was going on and he said he could be at my home by 8pm (I phoned at close to 4:40pm)!! He arrived right on time and his communication via texts kept me apprised of his arrival time. No BS automated AI generated calls. Real human connection. What a breath of fresh air. He arrived with a smile and spent the next 30 - 40 minutes trouble shooting the situation while we both wore headlamps under the house. He was very transparent about what he was seeing and I was able to get my husband on the line (who was at work) to listen in to our conversation. At the end, Ernie identified the faulty equipment and said he would be able to get the items and have one of his workers (or himself) out the next day. Well guess what . . . he reached out to me (on his own initiative) at 7:30am (TODAY) and his guys were here by 8:15am and fixed the AC! They were equally as nice and professional as Ernie. Needless to say, I would recommend Ernie for all your needs. I only wish we could clone the guy!!! read more
