Love this place. Fantastic place to sit and eat or take out. I have gone a few times and and food is always fantastic and servers are friendly.

The space is amazing and there is ample seating. There are exotic plants all around and it is super clean and organized. There is a mini freezer that has frozen mochi and also a retail section for popular Asian treats like pocky and hi-chew candy. The service was fast, the staff was friendly. If raw fish is not your thing, they do have cooked options. We tried the gyudon beef bowl and the spicy tuna poke bowl and both were fantastic. A great post-workout meal. I'm a super fan of healthy, high-protein, low-carb meals and this checks all those boxes and also tastes great. And I love that you can choose how healthy you want to be. They have options for white or brown rice, salad, or 1/2 rice & 1/2 salad, for their bowls. There's no outdoor seating, but if it happens to be a beautiful day, there is a small public seating area near the Starbucks a few doors down.

Gave Big Fin Poké a try on a work from home day and it was delicious! I ordered online which was so easy and it was ready right on time. The food was so fresh and delicious, it was a huge win. I liked the variety of options to choose from including the half and half base option since I find you're either left hungry with only lettuce or stuffed with rice. Portion size was good, leaving me full but not stuffed.

This is a great addition to downtown Melrose! I was here for their opening day and this place was super busy! The lines were long but boy it was worth the wait. They have a diverse assortment of snacks, drinks and mochi icecream! Both my friend and I got a build your own regular bowl that comes with two proteins. We got to pick our toppings and sauces. The total came to about $16 and the serving portion was decent. The decor is also pretty, bathrooms are clean and the staff is very friendly! Definitely will be back again.

Long-awaited grab-and-go or dine-in option in downtown Melrose! Delicious poke bowls with a fun, colorful ambience.

First impression walking into Big Fin is WOW. So cute, aesthetic and spacious. Such a great job with interior design. BUT the showstopper is of course the food, I tried the spicy tuna bowl and it was amazing! The portion sizes were generous and the service overall was great:) can't recommend enough!

I love this place. Always fresh and big portions with a lot of options for toppings. It's so good! The ambience is nice inside but mostly do take out.

I've been wanting to stop by this place for a while and finally got a chance today. First off, it's a lot bigger inside than you'd think! It was clean and inviting... I ordered off the menu, the spicy tuna poke over salad. It was very good, great balance of flavor that was neither overpowering nor bland. I thought it was a tiny bit pricy but the portion size (I got the regular) was generous. I'd definitely come back to try other bowls as this was a great first impression.

Pork Cutlet Curry: The restaurant specializes in fried foods, with the pork cutlet being their absolute signature dish. Although the cutlets were on the thinner, leaner side, each one was fried to order, resulting in a crispy exterior and tender, juicy interior, fragrant but not greasy. The breadcrumbs were especially fluffy and light, bursting with flavor on the palate, which was incredibly satisfying. The curry was authentic Japanese curry--rich, mild, and slightly spicy with a distinct fruity aroma, perfectly suited to my taste. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for a runny egg for the $2 additional egg; otherwise, it would have been even better. And at only $15 a serving, including a salad/miso soup, it's incredibly good value for money, perfect for lunch. Fried Oysters: Also crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the oysters were fresh and juicy. The lemon juice and salad dressing were refreshing. I felt they were even more delicious than the pork cutlet. The place is located in Lesley University's Main Hall and has only four tables, so you may have to wait.

I love…read moreKowloon when they're at their best, but too often they're mailing it in with reheats from the night before (recent spareribs) or long-held items (recent rice, egg rolls) that have become soggy and/or cold. -- Sweet and Sour Chicken (on a combo): Better than it's been. Good portion, fingers crispy, not fresh fresh, but semi-fresh with good chicken-to-batter ratio. Sweet and sour sauce served on the side was excellent: nice and sweet, with plenty of tang too, and even though sticky, not the dreaded gloppy fire engine red version served elsewhere. Overall, well above average. If hotter and fresher, elite. -- Pork Fried Rice (on the combo): Composition: excellent. Color: excellent. Flavor: excellent. Warmth and freshness: lacking in both. Obviously prepared a good while before I ordered it and sitting in a bin to be taken as needed, not cooked to order. -- Egg Roll (add-on to the combo): Good fillings but gummy shell. No crispness. Not much warmth. I keep asking for fresh and they promise fresh, but they lie. Decent flavor, and some shrimp were involved, so at least average. But when Kowloon decides to put the effort in or when timing is on your side, these are among the best in the business. But on this day-- because they didn't and it wasn't-- merely average. -- Spare Ribs (add-on to the combo): These were somewhat warm, somewhat meaty, and more than somewhat flavorful. A little above average. Everything came much quicker to the table than cooking from scratch would allow, so the precooked concept is still in play. Still a decent lunch, and with a great visual backdrop, but it could be so much better. And at their prices, it SHOULD be better.

First impressions was ... wow a large place and crowded on a Sunday for lunchtime. I figured this must be good food... big wrong . I was surprised and not wowed when viewing the lunch special menu... high prices for entree , then add more money to add on an appetizer side , to add on to add an egg roll... vs.. all together as a lunch combo ? 7.25 for a single egg roll ... this was clearly a price gouging. Then an appetizer of bone in ribs was 24.95. Placed order and food arrived in minutes... so all the food was re heated. I was very disappointed, cold rice, egg roll cold and looked not home made or if it was ... reheated , cold. Ingredients in egg roll were just ok... certainly not worth 7.25. The bone in ribs was a total rape job. I should have sent back as reheated to point of cremation... top two ribs were cold and edible, the kitchen was shrewd and deceptive as put or hid the dog bone quality cremated ribs on the bottom of pile... I would have sent back had I did a forensic analysis of the ribs on bottom of pile... 24.95 paid for those still bothers me days later writing this review. I feel violated. I paid cash or had I used AMEX, I would have submitted a dispute of charge for the credit card expense . Place way over rated and serving that quality is an embarrassment. Someone had warned me that they reheat the food most of time, but when cooked fresh then it is edible. I will never return as owner must be mailing it in til they bulldoze the place soon for the new apartment buildings or development planned... Better quality Chinese elsewhere in Cambridge... I feel ripped off bad. I'll stay away... maybe only the bar patrons get the reheated cold food as the restaurant was crowded? Maybe nothing or better options in Saugus than this Burger King of Chinese food type food served in massive size Burger King atmosphere, however with San Francisco prices. Holy Prices here Batman !

One half hour later, our waitress finally came to take our order after walking back and forth ignoring us for that 30 minutes. When our waitress took our orders, there was no apology for the long wait either. The food we ate was good, but not worth the wait. The portions were generous, and I couldn't finish mine. One sis ordered lobster roll with slaw, pickles and fries. She found it to be underwhelming, particularly the texture. I had the Dryft cheeseburger covered in caramelized onions and fries as a side. It was a big burger, well cooked, and I deconstructed it, to have less bun. The plentiful onions were a nice addition, and I liked the fries. The other sis ordered chicken under a brick, which was a fried boneless chicken breast under mashed potatoes, chicken jus, and brussels. She substituted asparagus for the brussels. Sis was highly satisfied with her whole meal and ate it all. Our host had a salad, but I didn't catch which one. It was large, not particularly noteworthy, and she didn't finish it either. The place was really noisy, which made conversation difficult. One other thing I noticed: all the female staff were wearing very short black skirts or shorts while the male staff members wore long black pants. I didn't inquire about a dress code or uniform, but it seemed sexist to me.
