I recently had the great misfortune to be rear-ended at a four-way stop. My Subaru Impreza's rear bumper was a mess. I decided to check out Yelp reviews of local body shops and could easily see that Big E Auto Rebuild had wonderful comments. The work ended up being more expensive than what the appraiser thought, but Big E did the work of contacting the appraiser and getting the whole thing taken care of without any hassle for us. Picked up my car from there today. Flawless! They did exactly what they said they would, on time, for the price agreed upon at the estimate. They deal directly with all/most insurance co's. It is horrible to be in an accident and have to deal with all the stress that it entails but Big E helped make things go a lot easier. Our 2008 Cadillac CTS was hit and the front end messed up pretty bad. With not wanting to just take our car anywhere the low ball insurance company was trying to send us to. And a perk, they fully detail your car for you so it's nice and shiny when you arrive. The work Big E Auto did to fix my car's rear end looked brand new after they were done with it... Overall, probably the best thing about them is their outstanding customer service. The reason for not giving them a 5 instead of a 4 was due to the first time when we were told we could come pick my car up. My husband and I noticed that the black paint on the rear window frames had pealed up pretty bad from the tape they must have used to block off the area they were re-painting (which we were rather surprised that they didn't notice that). In addition, there was a quarter size dent in the door that had not been there prior to it being dropped off to their shop. Tom was very understanding, and took it back in and fixed her up... 3 days later, everything looked as it should, and my vehicle was beautiful, shiny, and ready to take back home (the whole ordeal took a bit over 3 weeks). So in a nutshell, great customer service, fabulous final results... just wish I didn't need to come there twice to pick it up. read more

Sadly, I was in a fender bender recently that turned out a bit worse than originally thought. I had to be towed from the freeway to our kia dealer where they recommended Big E. Update: They contacted me and we were able to get the problems resolved. They fixed the leak and fixed my tailgate so it doesn't fall off when I open it. Not 100% sure that the leak is fixed as I have had it in a garage since the repair and have not been able to see if it leaks in the rain. I am pretty sure it is fixed as they had it for a few days and said that all the problems with it were repaired. Communication was much better with this experience so I am very hopeful that the issues with that have been resolved/was a freak occurrence. read more

This body shop is the best in the Seattle area. We've had to bring our vehicles in multiple times for repairs. And every repair is performed flawlessly and the car is always returned immaculate. This time around I had been a victim of a hit and run in a down town Seattle parking garage on a brand new Nissan Altima 2018 with not even 3000 miles on the car yet. I was so bummed. But Brad Truesdell gave me an estimate the shop worked with Allstate insurance and in just 4 business days the front right quarter panel had been replaced and painted and the surrounding areas feathered painted to make certain that the colors match. Consider hiring a new receptionist. I was involved in a hit and run and needed to get an estimate for repair as I'm filing a claim with my insurance. I was referred by my mechanic to Big E and called them to schedule an estimate. The person I spoke with told me that the estimate would only take ten minutes and that I could show up any time before 5:10 pm to get the estimate. I showed up at 5:00 p.m. this evening and there were two other people in line ahead of me. The receptionist didn't greet me or ask what I needed for 20 minutes and by the time we talked she rudely told me that they would not be able to do an estimate today. I tried to explain that her colleague told me it would only take 10 minutes but she cut me off and said that they should have closed 20 minutes prior and that everyone was already staying late to help customers before me. I again tried to ask why I was told to show up at 5:10 if they close at 5 pm and was cut off saying that I should just come back tomorrow. After leaving and looking at the yelp site (and the Big E website) I can see that she was simply lying about the closing time at 5 pm so that she didn't have to help me. Maybe they do great work at Big E but I couldn't even get past the receptionist to find out. read more

Highly recommend for their great customer service! Had a minor, non-collision related problem (rear lift gate stuck on an old 4Runner - needed to open it to access burnt-out taillight). One shop quoted me about $300 for a new latch and labor to take off the door panel, and couldn't schedule me for another 3 weeks. Another shop recommended Big E since getting into the door could be difficult, but might be something a body shop could do more easily. Came to Big E for my estimate and Brent fixed the problem on the spot! He and another technician pried open the door, changed my taillight and lubricated the rusty/salted latch and handle. (The latch wasn't broken after all, just severely rusted/corroded. Glad I didn't have to replace it needlessly. Big E saved me from wasting my money!) The usefulness of my old truck had been very limited during the last couple of years without good access to the cargo space. I feel like they helped breathe new life into this old workhorse! Renton Kia sent my car, a 2013 Optima SXL, to Big E to fix some factory mismatched paint under warranty. Snow White Pearl is probably a tough paint to match, but Big E managed to make it look beautiful ! During the process I wanted to discuss a few details with the shop. Instead of being run around, or put on hold forever, I was able to talk the shop manager Tom. Tom really paid attention to my concerns and after our discussion I felt I was in the hands of a true professional. The work says it all. Let's face it - if you have a car, crap happens. Having to take your car in after an incident is generally no fun task. But the guys and gal(s) of Big E make it a quite, dare I say, "enjoyable" experience. From my opening statement above, it's not like I look forward to being in a fender bender to see these folks - that's just creepy. BUT I have had a handful of visits to Big E since I was first introduced to them and throughout the years they've been quite consistent - as soon as I've either given them a call or have walked through their doors, I have 100% confidence that my car (and I) will be taken care of with the utmost care and respect. They take care of everything - the insurance process/correspondence, accurately give you an ETA on parts, promptly get you scheduled in their books, assure that a rental car is waiting for you when you drop your car off (if that applies to your situation). They're timely in making sure they get your car back to you asap and you can tell without a doubt that they take pride in their work and strive to assure that you are nothing less than elated with the work they've done. They never drop the ball on this and give you a call a week after you've taken your vehicle home to follow-up and check-in to make sure all is still well with the work they did. Having previously seen work completed by Big E Auto it was easy to choose them to fix our car when it was rear-ended. After they repaired our old bumper and went to paint it they were running into problems, evidently the dealership we bought the car from used cheap rattle can paint to cover up some minor scuffs and it was causing the new good paint to bubble. Anyhow Big E didn't cut any corners, they contacted the other guy's insurance for us and got approved for a new bumper, we didn't have to do a thing. They did it right the first time, in a timely manner (only a couple of days). Their work was flawless, customer service to match, and they even finished the work before the 4th of July so we wouldn't have to use the loaner over the holiday. These guys really impressed me. They worked on my car two years ago and the replacement bumper was an aftermarket required by the insurance company (a lesser-known insurance company I had never heard of). Turns out that the paint was flaking off of the bumper and I brought it back - two years later. They worked with the insurance company to get a new (manufacturer-issued) bumper and repainted it with no cost to me. What stood out to me was the integrity displayed - they were fully ready to replace/redo the bumper/paint and make things right, even if they couldn't get the insurance company to cooperate. I find it interesting when someone has such the opposite review of a place we have used. My wife driving is a magnet for anything stationary and everytime Big E has saved her from riding the bus!
